Metal Slug will always be one of my favourite childhood games 😀
When I played this for the first time back in 1997 on the Saturn, I was blown away by the quality of the game, the animations, the difficulty, everything ... In the 10:30 minute fight, it was considered by me, one of the most epic and difficult at the time xD
That fight costed me a lot of quarters at the arcade lol

Anyone else ever imagined the budget of the enemies? I mean, they pretty much throw every single piece of military power they have yet they still have more the next level?
It's particularly weird considering that the Rebel Army is a terrorist group. I suppose they stole what they have in the game, which means they took a couple of armies before.

Gosh, I almost forget how fun this game really is. Amazing how timeless the gameplay, graphics and music are. I was pretty much humming through the whole video. Urgh my mouth.
MS1 to me is still the yard stick of the series in terms of presentation. So many nooks and crannies along with destructible scenery and unparalleled emphasis on humour. I love how you took time (and rockets!) to destroy restaurants in Mission 2, and if you thought taking on planes in a tank was illogical, wait till you take them down with a Shotgun in Mission 6! HAHA!

I used to kill Allen using the knife. The strategy is simple but you need to keep you timing. First you have to jump in top of him when he is in the center while using melee and jump with a small delay while immediately stabbing him again when you go upwards. Then try to land on top of him again and stab him when you are falling. He can't kill you unless you stand still in the ground but you can harm him while jumping. If you time this well, he will stop moving from his place because he stops moving while trying to stab you but you will be able to harm him with your knife easily.Takes a bit of practice but is faster to kill him this way and you save ammo

This game it's so amazing! Granted, I didn't play it before, but I started some days ago. Gosh, it's so skill demanding! I beat the game using 21 continues, lame. Haha. But I progressed and now I don't die as much. But once you master the Slug controls it becomes much but much easier and fun!
It's all about those invincibility frames.

Pulling the stick up and down moves the Slug's machine gun as well.

Yeah, Allen is kind of rough. My trick is to only get away if he jumps down to your platform. If you see him jump down to the middle one, you may jump up by reaction, trapping yourself.
This other dude I know from a website called MameAddicts has a cool keep away strategy with grenades.

That's after Metal Slug 2, in the original game Allen leaves nothing behind.
i see only SV-001,SV-001 Expermental and SV-001 TYPE-R but what is that black SV-001?
According to the Metal Slug wiki, it's called SV-001 Bronze and it only appears at the beginning of the first game's final mission.

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to do a no death run of MS6 that game is fucking balls.
After the series left the arcade scene, they really went balls out when it comes to enemy numbers.
Is MS6 not an arcade game? Strange :'( but its great to see good old duffman shoot up a bunch of aliens. AMIRIGHTGUYS?
I played 6 on arcade a couple years ago so I do think there are some cabinets.

I think I know the trick of beating any Metal Slug game without dying; just use the tool assist feature. Even pros use tool assist.
Or just get good at the fucking game instead of resorting to cheating.

Hardest difficulty. The bullets go faster, the tanks are more durable and there are more enemies on screen at times.

Perdon por mi comentario el video no es malo,solo que por el momento busco videos para empezar en youtube sobre un jugador de metal slug 1 que lo juegue a la perfeccion con las siguientes caracteristicas:
1.-jugar el juego en nivel 8 o superior(MVS).
2.-jugarlo con 0 vidas(es decir con una sola vida).
3.-los detalles deben verse en al inicio del video.
4.-terminar el juego sin recibir ningun ataque al vehiculo(tanque).
5.-terminar el juego liberando a todos los prisioneros(100 prisioneros en total).
6.-no importa el puntaje(hi score),pero si es posible llenar el tablero de puntuaciones con el mismo nombre jugando y terminando el juego una y otra vez.
Bueno,creo que es mucho pedir a un video pero continuo buscando un video con esas caracteristicas,algo exagerado pero creeme que no es imposible,el juego me encanto desde que lo vi por 1ra vez alla en mi pais Bolivia en la Ciudad de La Paz en el año 1995 y hasta la fecha lo sigo jugando,una vez mas perdon por el anterior comentario pero la busqueda es agotadora y en caso de no encontrarlo lo realizare yo mismo,talvez no sea hoy ni mañana pero lo hare... .
