Hi Mark, You're video came just in time. I recently bought Annabelle and have her in a large pot but the really bad winds here in Dublin have broken a stem so I will take a cutting from this. Can I ask, besides keeping the planted up cuttings outside in the shade, could or should they go in a heated propagator also? Many thanks Mark, love your videos Tina (Dublin, Ireland ☘️)
Greetings Mark. Have you done or have plans for a house tour? As an American, I’m fascinated with timberframe homes as they are known to be older than my country in some cases. Our house construction is purely driven by home builder profit with minimal (legal) consideration of durability. Just curious. I enjoy your channel and look forward to progress updates.
Hi Michael. I hadn't considered a house tour really. I think the family here would be uncomfortable about me putting inside the house 'out there'. However, there are several National trust timber framed old houses. I may visit one soon and go inside to film. Mark
Apologies if you already mentioned and I missed it...but, can you take cuttings anytime it has leaves. Or just spring? Im wondering if I can do this in fall, after blooming? I'm in zone 6 Nova Scotia, Canada.
Guys. So glad to hear you’re having success with this. I’m having a difficult time with Annabelle’s and wondered if you have any suggestions. I’m having trouble with wilting. I’ve tried domes, plastic bins, mist, in all rooting medium peat/perlite, sand. Once I get em to stand up straight, they rot. I’m looking for that happy medium so I can finally see those wonderful roots! Would love any help. @howard977 would love to know if you use a special structure to provide 100% shade?? Thanks guys!!!
What a great video. Presenter is very authentic and nice to listen to.
Thanks David very much appreciate your comment and feedback. Mark
Annabelle and Incredible hydrangea are my favorite ❤
I shall have a look at Incredible. Thank you
Hi Mark, sounds a fantastic plan. I love hydrangeas 😊
Me too especially annabelle. This will be quite a big project. Mark
Top bro
Thanks again 😊
Interesting
Oh you just gave me another idea. Like I need another project….
Lol oops sorry 😂😂😂
Hi - this was really helpful. Is it too late now in Sep? Thx
Firstly, thank you, secondly...why not give it a go. Do half a dozen. Some are bound to take 😊
Can Annabelle survive without sun scorch in full sun on the Bournemouth south coast as mine does get sun scorched : could that be a hydration issue?
I feel it can do fine without full sun. Mine suffered terribly with scorch this year. I shall be moving them next year out of full sun. Mark
Hi when and how much you can trim to keep the shape of potted anabal
Hi, if you search hydrangea on my channel there is a video on how to prune. Thank you. Mark
Happy birthday 🙂
Ah thank you very much 😊

Mine continue to do well outdoors so provided it's still reasonably warm it will be ok.
@@MarksHouseandGardenUK Thank you Mark 🙂

Perfectly understandable.

Can you take hard wood cuttings while the plant is dormant.
I'm not sure, why not give it a go?
I didn't see where to cut it. Is there a certain point. Thanks
Just above where you see evidence of growth. Just above a leaf node where the leaves grow out sideways
you don't need rooting hormone to propagate any hydrangeas. You can cut all the leaves off and keep the cuttings in 100% shade , water often
Thanks Howard. Mark
