I loved the game when it came out, thought the draw system was very unique and fun, and was swept away by the epic love story. Hello :) youtube just recommended me your channel, what a nice surprise! After reading the description, I thought I'd chime in and share some thoughts on the mixing part as someone who's also playing around with it when creating my own music. So, overall I'd say your vocals sound good within the context of the music but if you want to try to make them fit better with the already recorded instrumentals, you can apply some gentle reverb into your voice and play around with the settings, especially the length of a reverb, width (whether it's wide or mono) and size of the room it's emulating (and then the wet ratio, of course, little goes a long way). When doing this you just gotta find the settings that will sound best within the context of a song, making it sound like it resides in the same space as the song. It'll be a bit different each time. I know it's easier said than done, and it's easy (and frustrating) to spend hours trying to find the "right" settings, but on the bright side, remember that there's usually more than one "right" answer when it comes to mixing, so just do what sounds best to your ears and that's it. You may find that 3 different reverb settings will all sound fine when A/B'ing them. Maybe not necessarily better, just different. It happens often. Just stick with one and call it a day (or all 3 at the same time if you're feeling adventurous lol) And sometimes... the best reverb is no reverb at all haha. Take breaks to accurately judge what's best for the song, ear fatigue is a thing and sometimes our ears can betray us! One trick I have for levelling different mix elements is to do it with closed eyes so I'm not distracted with the look of a DAW. I'll just grab parameter that I want to adjust (like the "wet level" of reverb) or mixer's channel volume fader, close my eyes, and move it up and down with my mouse until I feel like I've got the right amount. So you can try it out, too :) Another thing I like to do is to export my track as an MP3 and listen to it outside my DAW, it's weird how different things can sound when you listen to your music without looking at all the tracks inside it or when you take it to a different room etc. It often helps with getting a fresh perspective on a mix and with figuring our if something needs to be changed. Weird but it works! There's more stuff I wanted to write but maybe it's getting a bit too long for a youtube comment... I hope some of my insights will help, feel free to ask if you want me to explain something more. Overall, great performance and great voice! Cheers :)
