When we were very young, my sister and I were allowed to split a teacup of weak tea on Sunday. My mother would share it out spoonful by spoonful into our own teacups so that we each got the same amount, and we felt very grown-up and elegant indeed. It turned me into a lifelong tea enthusiast.
