ABOUT THE THREE QUESTIONS WITH ANDY RICHTER
Host Andy Richter asks the same three questions to each guest: Where do you come from? Where are you going? What have you learned? These three simple questions, when answered honestly and thoughtfully, are enough to provide a pretty complete picture of who a person is. The answers are what Andy always wants to know about people. This will not be a one-sided process, as Andy won’t shy away from getting personal himself.

This was a perfect example of Flula matching Andy’s energy and referential humor style while still staying himself! He’s a comedic chameleon!
Totally agree!!! I loved every time Flula was right there and also engaging on his own. Such a fun exchange.
And in his second language!
But I love more when he is with Conan, because he will be like a hyperactive kid thats high on sugar :D
The way Flula understands the English language so much to just make everything he says funny is unbelievable. I know people who think that he's just getting things wrong but I don't know how some people can't see that he's so amazing with the English language he know which words to get wrong and which word is the funniest "mistake"
Exactly. 👍🏻
@@aresee8208 wann bist mal wieder in berlin?
..
poops and gigs
he's very similar to Borat in that way
@@lukebpowell what? "Borat" played is Sascha Baron Cohen is from London so English is his first language
Its so fascinating to see Flula even mildly subdued
The weirdest thing are the one or two videos that exist of him talking without the exaggerated German accent. It's a bit uncanny.
he has a minor role in a TV show called Counterpart (amaaazing by the way) that he just plays a goon that tries to kill a character on a hospital
@@SatanicHorse totally. I have experienced many, many German accents and not one sounds like Flula's "persona". To my ear he sounds like a fake/stereotyped German from the American point of view - no shade, as it definitely fits his schtick! But IME Germans really don't sound like this when they speak English.
@@lisar3944 congratulations. That's kind of the point
@@dimitrezeHis real name is also Kristof Robinson, but for some reason he is hiding it.
I can only assume that Flula's shirt is in such a state because Andy does pre-interview MMA cage matches
@supersklars with Nosebleeds
Thank you that's the comment I was looking for I didn't really feel like asking but I was curious why he's wearing a ripped shirt.
Now I know, thanks.😂😂
Literally looking for this comment. I know Flula is fit, but bicep-ripping-sleeve, is really not what I was expecting.
I picture myself that every-time Andy and Flula meets up they prank each-other in ways that is always over the line for most people, so Andy most likely greeted Flula by trying to choke him out from behind while Flula grabbed a vase and smashed it over Andy's head, and then the interview started.
Such a good conversation. I’ve never really heard Flula speak about his comedy before so I really enjoyed it.
As a German working in a mostly English-language-only environment (where I believe I'm somewhat fluent in English), since binging Flula bits...but...oh boy! he's so fast and witty with his mouth and so fluent on a high level and also his vocabulary range...puuuh, he must be a very smart and educated person tbh...kudos 😊
Native English speaker here, your English seems damn near perfect. 9. 7/10 fluency
@@cleverusername9369 I really hope you're not joking at all 😅 Anyway, thanks for your reply - highly appreciated 🙂
I love his deliberate flubbery of English. So damn hilarious. But insanely smart at the same time
For the longest time I avoided watching anything with Flula because he looked like an annoying goofball. Then I saw a clip and became a fan immediately. He is incredibly quick witted and doing it in a second language is even more impressive.
For non-English speaking Germans he always sounds like a goofball. His German accent is so stereotypical I sometimes think Flula is doing it on purpose as goofy as he is. No German speaks English like that, let alone someone so open-minded like Flula.
@@tyronevaldez-kruger5313 Just like Arnold Schwarzenegger, whose accent is so much a part of his personna, to not play it up would be a liability, but he's been in the US so long, his real conversational accent is not nearly as exaggerated.
@@ericv7720 Truth. We here in Germany are a little jelous that the most famous German- speaking persons since Hitler are actually from Austria. Actor Waltz is one of my favourite. He is as nerdy n awkward as his characters. 💪🏿💯
@@tyronevaldez-kruger5313 all the Germans sound like that to non-Germans, it's your lack of knowledge/delusion that makes you deny that statement
@@IllIllIllIllIII You missed the point linguistics professor bec how Germans sound to others is another story that you brought up. Most importantly why "D"ustin Gaethje? The Human Highlight deserves more respect
I like how Andy’s subdued podcast is a great compliment to the good chaos of conan’s podcast
Wow. Listening to Flula made me realize hes a LOT more clever and insightful than he seems. Hes clearly very smart and he think through stuff a lot. Very interesting.
You can tell in his interviews with Conan how quick his wit is.
I feel like you haven't seen him in character, or at all, if you didn't think he was clever. He's obviously very clever and very witty. Unless it's just going above some people's heads.
Wit as fork. Amricans again.
maybe now you'll start to see it when he's really hamming it up for comedic effect xD
He has more knowledge of English vocabulary than some English speakers that’s how he can use the play on word puns for comedic value
I’ve missed Andy and I can’t believe I didn’t know he did a podcast. This was a fun watch!
Anybody else addicted to these podcast clips and constantly in your RUclips recommended 😂
I've seen every Conan clip 1000 times.
My memory is so bad it's like I'm watching them for the first time.
Within seconds it notifies me 🤣 you would think it was a medical emergency
Just wish they'd upload the whole thing.
It's all I hope for every time I open the app
no Hoboken for this guy 😆 😂 🤣
I wish I could breathe Flula instead of oxygen, brings new meaning to a "breath of fresh air" 😆 one of the best members of the Conan reoccurring family
👏💯
I wish his energy could be distilled and turned into some kind of medication, same as Sona's laugh
English with a German accent is seriously comedy gold... Especially when "used" properly the way Flula does is just BRILLIANT and fills a niche that never really existed.. Hes such a lovable guy, and seriously always hilarious, witty, clever and as quick as a whip when it comes to improvisational skills
I would pay like a lot of money to see dark humor flula
It became very clear to me and others, I'm sure, that Flula is quite intelligent when he started doing math equations in videos for his fans during the pandemic. Flula is awesome ❤️
Such a great point Andy brings up. I feel like so many people don't even comprehend that when someone is in the public eye, especially a comedian, they wear a mask that is for lack of a better word "domesticated" just like everyone else does when they go out in public. It is impossible to be truly creative when you hamper your own thought process with burdens like morality or public perception. that has always been the case but I think that people used to be more aware of it. Maybe it's because social media, the internet, 24 hour news, cell phones, the information age in general means that the walls between not just celebrities, but everyone and their private lives are increasingly transparent or even knocked down and the lines blurred.
Another example is Christopher Guest. He is one of the few comedic actors who leads a very serious private life. People have asked Jamie Lee Curtis if he is as funny at home and she says no because he treats humor as his occupation and chooses to not bring his work home with him. There is also the fact that in addition to being Christopher Guest - Hollywood actor, writer and director, he is the current Baron Haden-Guest - a British noble.
The people want more Andy Richter on this channel
This was a wonderful episode. I first saw this clip, then jumped on to the podcast. I liked how it was just a conversation between two friends and not an interview with just Andy driving the conversation
as someone from the outside looking in, i've noticed that most eauropean celebrities do this, have a public persona which is usually a "bit" and the private real person. which is something that surprises a lot of people from the states.
Flula in presence of Conan is a riot!
what
Conan isnt even there bro..
What are you talking about.
@@drunkpaulocosta I know there's no Conan in this particular interview - rather just a mention of him. I was talking in general. This version of Flula is a lot mellowed down one. That's what I was implying. Apologies for causing any confusion. Cheers 🙂
There is a video somewhere Flula talking in a normal voice.
He's about 50% here
Flula, in Conan’s presence, is a riot ( might work ) better would be, Flula and Conan together is mayhem.
Haha love this. Only thing missing was Conan 😂 but it's great seeing and hearing Andy
Flula is one of the best guests, hope they'll post more from this
"Eight U's, two umlauts"
Paul Reubens as Pee-wee Herman, Gregg Turkington as Neil Hamburger, Sacha Baron Cohen as Borat. In no particular order.
Flula has a very genuine brand of comedy I rarely get to run across. The first time I heard him was on the Kingcast when he gave the hosts his personal synopsis of Maximum Overdrive, to this day it is still one of my favorite episodes of any podcast I had ever listened to.
I first found him here on RUclips.

I'll take Flula straight up or on the rocks. Either way, he's fantastic.
For a comedian to be funny and quick witted in a non-native language, he not only needs to master the language completely, his skills are actually above the average language speaker of said language. For example, this guy can improv poetry slam if he wants to. So make no mistake, everything incl. the "mistakes" and strong accent are part of the comedy.
Those arms! 💪
Two guys who have made my life so much more fun and happy! Love these segments!
2:58 I think the internet fans have seen some of this side of Conan: I think back to WikiBear, which was just a mutual love of dark humor that clearly Conan and Brian Stack share (along with Andy). Similarly, the scraps for when Stack played "Hipster God" got pretty dark, Conan ranting about "why do you let people die" and so on.
I’m Wikibear, yay!!!
I thought of Wikibear too - in particular the one where Stack says something like "the rich are above morality" and Conan cracks up
I just want to write to Andy and I really enjoy The Three Questions podcast and the one with Loren Bouchard is one of my favs in a long list of good ones.
"You've got bills to pay"
"Two of them!"
We love Andy and Flula!!!!💜💜💜
"I ... I have pants" - haha, nice one Flula.
Pants mean underpants in Europe.
Flula thank you all the loves from Australia. Im heading to the gym! The best.
Flula is a legend.
I really enjoy both those guys.
Andy is a great interviewer. Very intelligent questions.
Ah, the goodest Flula amd silk voice of A.R. Thank you.
I keep my dark humor to myself, most people don't get it, I completely agree.
Love seeing him doing well! My weird crush!
Agreed, thank you~
Can we get more Andy Richter ??? please???????
I'm so proud of sharing the same german Harrier Jet as Flula Borg! You go Flula! Love ya!
I'm such a big fan of Team Coco and of Flula, and I KNOW there should have been more I got out of this conversation, but all I was left with, honestly, was "wow, I didn't know Flula was so ripped!"
Love You Andy!
It's really something to be as clever, fast, and have such facility with pop culture in your second language and adopted home as Flula is.
Hahaha!! “Two of them”
I watched every Team Coco video with Flula - this guy is sooo special and funny. And as a fellow German - Flula ich Feier dich 😄
Does the name Flula sound insanely wacky to the average German? I always thought that was just his stage name. 😄
It's like the before and after photos of the Jack LaLanne health club.
What a beautiful mind.
Andy, we love you
More!!!
Love Andy's podcast, and Inside conan on youtube!
"insane German harrier jet" 😂
Flula is a treasure.
Andy, Conan loves you
He does . I think he is amazing
"No Hoboken for this guy"
Love the shirt
He's still playing his character in here, though.
his public persona, the weird foreigner, reminds os Latka
Haha love Flula so much. Good job Andy with a great interview.
My suspicions were right I think, that he modeled his German character from Robert Smigel's Arnold Schwarzenegger impersonation, and also some of Andrés du Bouchet's comedy style. He absolutely used Andrés Boliviguay accent of adding a 'u' to things like 'balls' that he did, like 'baulls'.
Very accurate...
Haha!, such a sweeetheart 😜
For poops and gigs 😂😂
interesting he should mention Harrier jets at the end, those things are so delicate that they're really expensive to maintain; they were ahead of their time
So Conan in private is Bill Burr basically.
My co-worker went to college in the US with 'Flula" who had a fully american accent but grew up with with his parents on an American military base in Germany. So he grew up in Germany, but he is American and took on the "German" persona for fun which is great.
you mean somebody who was like him or the real flula? Because I read that his parents were hippies and is a "real" german?
Flula Borg was born in Erlangen, West Germany
I feel like you're talking about a different Flula
@@cleverusername9369 apparently there was a US military base near Erlangen up until '94, Flula would have been 12 yo at that point. The internet says he moved to the US in his 20s, so that might even work out chronologically. Still, I too have a hard time believing that story
We need andy on the podcast for a reunion with conan and the gang please! 🤞
I too wear pants two ways.
It's very interesting seeing Flula when he's not as "on" and get an idea of what he's like in his everyday life.
Finally, the Andy I like. Real.
He seems so out of place in a suit, stifling his best dirty gags/observations during taping episodes.
"Eight U's and two umlauts."
"That's right. 8 'U's and 2 umlauts."
Where is the rest ?
Andy ...Flula ...how are you fellas
I absolutely LOVE Flula! and I would kill for a "NSFW" Conan show!
ANDY!
FLULA ON THE PODCAST! YES!!!
Andy is the best
Flula is extremely quick and has a much better grasp of English than the average native speaker, despite the hilarious accent he has.
English or Anglishe is a Germanic language originating from the Angles, Saxons, Jutes and Freisin peoples.
@@gerardodwyer5908 most of us germans aren't nearly as proficient at speaking english as he is. And while the languages have some overlap, there are a ton of "false friends" (which Flula uses all the time for comedic value by the way)
is there anyone other like flula in the entire world?
Who was the guest? It's nice to see Andy Richter fill in for Conan.
Same studio, different podcast
@@dlxmarks Answer my question Who is the guest?

I would love to go on a bender with this man😂
Wait, does this mean Sona laughs/eyerolls SO hard whenever Conan cracks jokes, because she knows "private Conan" and can fill in the blanks?
Well thats 1 way to prove you're not an NPC
His American translations are very funny I did it for the poops and gigs😂 so close but much funnier
So flula never left the studio lol
i am so curious about "not fit for public eye" conan
Cabin boy was cool.
Why was his right sleeve ripped off LOL.

YOOOOOO
why would i know the location of kevin bacon?
