    The fact that Mark never once stopped to get any credit for the acts of heroism he performed really stands out. He's not trying to fix his reputation and prove to the general public he's not Omni-Man.
    He's trying to prove to _himself_ that he's not his dad

    But if u look closely you'd realize it's more evident in his flying movements.
    In S1 he seemed so happy to be able to fly and everytime he leapt or burst into flight u can tell he's really hyped. Now that jolt of euphoria is gone. No rush of adrenaline or energy.

      I like that last point. I get that superhero media is in no way realistic, but it does confuse me when serious fights happen between these super strong beings with huge power gaps and neither of them have even superficial wounds, it’s like they’re just hunks of rubber whacking each other. If you were to fight somebody four times stronger and faster than you, the end result wouldn’t be you looking like you fell off your bike, it’d be much more unpleasant and Invincible reflects that.

    • @chriss.249
      @chriss.249 4 месяца назад +3

      "When was the last time a superhero story didn't glamorize the fighting even slightly"
      Well, what of hulk, spider-man(Miles, Peter, 2099), thor, or even sonic/megaman have u recently read?
      Sonic was almost killed by an enemy he was trying to talk down. Walking away with scratches and burns from her almost drowning him while electrocuting him.
      In another arc, he needs a brace on his leg as it's dislocated in a plane crash.
      Peter in sinister war and #74(2021) was covered in blood and cuts
      Miles had a cut up suit and a bloody mouth from his fight with rabble
      He was also gored through the chest by cletus in "carnage reigns" as well as cletus biting deep into his shoulder and making him almost black out.
      Knull does some messed up things to Venom, who pays him back later.
      He also murders Sentry by tearing him in half
      Mjolnir goes evil as Mangogs spirit possesses it. He breaks thors entire arm as when thor goes to punch Mangog, he turns into mjolnir, shattering thors arm from the hand to the elbow. Odin later pushes thor out the way as mjolnir rockets from a higher plane of reality amd crashes down onto odins spin. Bending him in half and breaking it. Pretty much killing him.
      The less said about hulk in stories like immortal hulk, Star ship hulk, banner of war, etc, the better.
      My question is, what have u been watching/reading to make u feel superhero fights have been glamorized? Because invincible isn't the only series that shows how messed up they can be/are.

    2:48 I felt bad for that cop. Imagine training to be a police officer, to serve and protect, and responding to a call, and when you show up... there's nothing you can do. The culprit is a superhuman, supernatural, extraterrestrial, something that's a hundred times stronger, naturally, than you, who trained as hard as you could. The only difference between you and the civilians in that moment is that you're not running away because it's your JOB to stop criminals. And then, when the special forces or the superheroes show up to care of things, you realize that's all you could do: wait for someone else to take care of it.

    What I liked most about this show so far is the depiction that saving lives is difficult, even for characters as powerful as Invincible. In DC and Marvel, the downsides of saving lives is rarely highlighted. Characters like Superman just save everyone so easily as if it was nothing to them. But in this show, it shows that if they aren't careful, they can easily cause more harm than good which is why with power alone, that is not enough to be a superhero. It takes training, experience, and dedication to be able to save without hurting. And when they succeed or fail, it tends to cause massive about of PTSD. And even when they do their best, sometimes its still not enough. In the Marvel/DC stuff, they always seem to be able to find a way regardless of the situation.

      Marvel studio should make a Spider-Man 2099 series where they explore how Miguel got his powers trying to replicate Peter Parker's powers but ended up becoming the new Spider-Man of 2099 and along with his struggles trying to live up to and fulfill the role. And as he fights crime of 2099, he would meet the new heroes of 2099 such as Avengers 2099, Daredevil 2099 and ect. And he fights against not just common criminals of 2099 but Alchemx who not only wants to replicate the heroes but the villains as well. Which would led to the greatest season finale battle Miguel has to face.
      And in season 2, Miguel would dawn his white Spider-Man suit(which is made of unstable molecules and kevlar) which he gonna need since he'll be fighting against the original villains such as The Maestro, The Kree empire, Super Skrull(and the Skrull empire), Annihilist, and as well as new villains like The Sinister Six of 2099(Goblin 2099, Doctor Octopus 2099, Electro 2099, Vulture 2099) The MRD(along with their original and new sential) and any other original who made it to 2099. Karma Police by Radiohead. A song that captures the fact that it's about the loss of identity in a world full of hypocrisy in which you can get lost for a moment. Very fitting to the first episode of season 2 of Invincible. This is actually my favourite scene in episode one.
    [Verse 1]
    Karma police, arrest this man, he talks in maths
    He buzzes like a fridge, he's like a detuned radio

    This is what you get

    Fun fact, throwing a ton of water onto a fire isn’t the best way to put out a fire. Too much fire and the materials stay hot, underwater, and some flammable chemicals will just float on the water and burn. Firefighters use a mist because it vaporizes and pulls heat out of the building, which what extinguishes a fire.

    • @nj5414
      @nj5414 10 месяцев назад +8

      Did you mean "water on fire" because yes. A flood of that size and level would collapse the whole building faster than just letting it burn and the most important part of fire safety is usually getting people out of the burning building. If there's no one left to save, letting the fire burn out is an entirely valid strategy.

    • @iggytheincubus

    One thing that went thru my mind watching this montage sequence of random heroism from Mark was that conversation he had with his dad who wanted to see how decent he was at flying now that his Viltrim DNA was finally starting to take over
    "When flying, you need to relax."

We still prevail and help those around us because that's how strong we are, never lose hope on those who have hurt you or you have hurt. Remember forgiveness is always there but the pain is still there so till will take time. So take the time and heal yourself, be there for those around you. And reflect b4 they come back in your life. It took Superman to finally stop him and other JL members Batman came in to help Barry.
    Yeah its the thing that "I had the power to save them but I could not save them" and trying desperately make up for it, knowing deep down you can't undo what happened, and you have to live with it. That is one hell of a suffocating feeling to feel

    I was expecting a scene where somebody calls Invincible a monster and throws a rock at him or something, but was surprised they seem alright with him. It could be mostly out of fear of angering him, but even then I like to think they acknowledge his heroism.
