I think that’s the dilemma of mixing in an analog fashion.. commiting and completing a mix in the moment.. as far as recall function though.. once you’ve done your initial mix evels and eq moves, and whatever you might do with outboard print not only the 2 mix but also the stems back into our DAW for future processing. I personally have never had to do a recall. But that’s what I’ve done in anticipation of needing to recall. Hope this helps!
