    I remember so wanting a poodle skirt but we couldn't afford to buy one. Since mom made practically all my clothes she made me a poodle skirt. Loved it.

    I remember being about five or six, playing their album on my mom’s record player. Kids today say their bored . Honestly I was content playing music and of course riding bikes 🚲 with other kids. Absolutely love SHA NA NA still in February 2020. 💙💙🇺🇸🎶🖤🖤

      Raised in the 70's with this greatness surpassed being a teen in 80's This was on constantly growing up and I play it now much more then any of the "modern" 80's hair metal that I came of age with.

    1979 as a kid i was in NC and Sha Na Na just happened to be doing a show in the Coliseum.
    Dr. Hook was their opening band. Had to have been 20k people packed in there, it was wild.

    I'm 15 and I have three poodle skirts and I wear them all with my saddle shoes!!!! Of course I get funny looks when I wear them, but I love it. :)

    sigh did you see the cool moves with Santini heeh none of them can do that now. lets face it girls now you babies under 55 never had a poodle skirt but I am so glad I got to wear one just before the mini hit! grin grin. One thing I do know Donny could still wear those jeans!!

      Number 6, I do so have a clue! I put myself in the place of that girl dancing with Bowzer, and I thought it had to be one of the happiest experiences of her life!     I remember first hearing them on the Woodstock soundtrack , then they were on a TV show during the 70's and they did quite well on it . All their music was from the 50's and early 60's . Too bad one of their member die yesterday .

      The original Sha Na Na lineup had two low-note singers, Alan Cooper and Robert Leonard. Both of them pursued advanced degrees and became Ph.D.s -- Dr. Cooper in religious studies and Dr. Leonard in linguistics. Jon "Bowzer" Bauman stuck with the entertainment business. It's Dr. Leonard you see lending his expertise in linguistics to help solve crimes.

It showed how great a performer he is and he was able to somehow still keep me hating it so many years later because of his talent. Nobody could of did this character but him.
