  • Real and Honest Handmade Business Talk
In this video I open up (and ramble on) about things that I feel awkward about (like sending e-mail newsletters / e-mail marketing, writing to the press,…) and struggle with (like selling wholesale) in my handmade jewelry business.
AND I talk about what did work, during these past few weeks. Just so you know, it's not because I did managed to get some things done that I feel like everyone should. I got a lot of support and help from my family and friends. I can imagine a lot of people feel completely blocked of anxious feelings during this pandemic times and I feel like you should not be hard on yourself, ok? So no judgment!
Let’s chat in the comments and connect on instagram @kornelia_jewelry .

Brilliant and so nice of you to donate. I can't speak from doing as I'm just in the beginning stages of working for myself but I can speak of experiences having been in the Jewellery industry for years. Be very careful with consignment, yes we need to keep the industry going but not everyone has your interest at heart and will only be thinking of what they can get out of you. Your doing great and what you have achieved already is amazing, not forgetting you are a wife and a mother also👏👏👏

Thanks you so much for your kind comment! Yes, I agree I should be careful with consignment, I try to look at this as if I am on a quest of finding my sustainable path to grow my business. Good luck to you, I think it is very smart to have years of experience in the Jewellery Industry before strarting on your own! 🍀

I like your attitude toward business, your an artisan not a hard nose business person your
love for creating is your main joy and that is commendable , there are people / customers who appreciate that angle and like to support truly creative people and not the fad warblers , I have been doing this for58 years in bricks and mortar store, street markets in london and texas and have like you have remained independent and positive and have retained the joy of our craft and art good luck Kornelia.

Thanks for sharing your heartfelt thoughts, I totally feel the same about the online presence marketing/awkwardness, but I think you're doing a great job, sharing your processes/engagement with your customers/audiences! I'm inspired by your work & thank you for the tutorials as it really helps makers like myself, esp down to selection of tools for beginners. I love how u're using your designs to spread love to others in this difficult time! Cheers & hopefully you will continue with the casual engagement with your audiences (:

Congratulations, Sweetie! You so deserve it. You seem like such a humble, thoughtful person. BTW, I adore your accent. Also, I agree that consignment is not the way you should go. Just keep up your inquiries w/ stores whose "theme" is consistent w/ what you are trying to do with your work. All they can say is "no" until they say "yes".

    • @korneliajewelry
      @korneliajewelry  4 года назад

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging support Julie! Yes, you are right! I should just keep up, I once heard someone say that maybe it is better to set a goal to get, for example, 50 “no”s so you’re not expecting to much but still doing the work. And maybe, just maybe, someone answers “Yes” 😄

@@korneliajewelry You've got a lot of yeses in your future. All you can do is just keep doing what you love. Of course, your craft will get better and better. Then you'll be wondering when all the blessed madness started!

Thank you so much for sharing this with us and for being so real and open! The story behing this design and how it turned out is wonderful and incredibly inspiring😍 I feel the same way about the emails, I can see many people have subscribed to my email newsletter but I feel so tired and lost whenever I think about the email strategy... We'll probably have to figure it out eventually, because many say it's a great tool and a way to reach customers. Thanks so much again for this wonderful video! Sending you lots of love 🌺

Hiya dear lady, what a nice, from the heart (!) video. You go girl! Anything that can lift people at this time is wonderful, so something like your 'Heart Hands' (you can use that name), being sent to someone who is working non-stop or just like me stuck inside, would lift their heart! You don't make them to sit in a draw but to be worn & admired by any that see them!
Would/could your brother do the advertising on line? Issue press releases? Your work deserves a wider audience than a shop window with no one walking past it... or a web page people don't know is there!!! I love your work so keep on producing these wonderful sculptures please.
How long before you have some school leaver with a desire to learn working with you on cleaning up pieces ready for sending? Low wage but great teaching, like it used to be when I first went to work in 1973. College is not cheap so any practical teaching goes a long way!
    Take care & stay safe...

Thank you so much for your kind words! Yes, my brother is helping me a lot with all those kind of things these days (as he is an actor, so obviously can't do theater performances now, so has more time to help me), I'm grateful for his help and I am learning a lot, because like you said, I don't make jewelry to sit in a draw somewhere!

@@korneliajewelry You deserve the kindest words to give money un-asked to Covid 19 people in need... I didn't know what your brother did but he should understand words, their use & power. I agree with you & Julie W to saying no to consignment, that only suits one person & that is almost never you. Every piece you sell will make you stronger, if you let it. The truth about your work & its strength is also in sales, every piece sold is a laud 'yes' to you & your collection confirming your faith in your design & the need to expand your range of these pieces for your growing admirers. So continue to grow dear lady & help people to see your vision!!!
      Take care & stay safe...
