i can learn lot from the pace of this video. I like how much detail you went into with each thing, enough to get a great picture of the Iron mongers. and their place in the world.
Hey man, thanks so much! I've personally always felt I could be more concise, but the grass is always greener in content creation haha!
@@TheSmolBrit being concise isn't a really nessesary goal. the more you can care about what you say and not how long it takes to say it, the more the spirit of your work shines through.
You guys should do a collab!
The world of monster garden and the world of gold and bone feel similar in terms of visual style; it would be interesting to see what kind of collaboration could come about.
It would be cool to see Monlenz’s amazing body horroresque monsters, combined with writfinches amazing armours!
Your artwork has such an interesting contrast of being very dark and very cute at the same time.
Cute and dark are a very volatile sliding scale for me!
It is isn't it.
I wish my art skills were sharper. I only poked at drawing and art as a kid and dable in it from time to time now. No real ability myself. which sucks because I would absolutely make a similar channel for my own worldbuilding projects.
@@JimyRoze There's a japanese proverb that goes "if you're curious about a thing, you will do it well". If you want to get good at art, you'll get good at it, as long as you fear failing to try more than you fear trying and failing.
@@JimyRozeArt isn’t natural talent, it’s practice, nothing stops you from starting now. The “best time” might’ve been childhood, but the second best is today.
@@A_Name_Music Fair enough, and I am following some practice tutorials and stuff already. I just find it hard to actually do it. I think I always worked best having a teacher giving me a deadline. Now that i am giving the deadline and the only one forcing me to do it is me, I find it hard to actually do it.
I have been doing ok forcing myself to learn code the past few days, I think I really need to find a way to make sure the art is more in my face so I remember to work on it.
I _adore_ this project so much. Do take your time, as you said; the best works come from refined thoughts, and your previous works of art and worldbuilding are already proof enough of that!
A beshat born mute would be interesting to see as they move through and interact with their tight knit community.
I genuinely think half of them wouldn’t even notice
I hope you’re writing a book about this stuff because it’s fucking cool
They remind me of dwarfs. Secluded mountain people that highly value craftsmanship and iron as well as some of the helmets having a beard of cloth (or iron in the reference image). But then they are large. The Bashat are long dwarfs.
I randomly found the first vid on gold & bone. I subscribed instantly. Your work on this is impeccable, not to mention your story telling and pacing in your videos are fantastic.
Same here!
Same
Same!!!
Hey folks - I had to re-upload due to an audio issue! Thanks for your patience x
I beshat myself
the s's hert my ears also, cool work
are you planning to turn Gold & Bone into a novel of some kind?
what drawing app do you use
Nice! Ok one thing though. You said they have muscles covered in fat and are built for strength rather than vanity. That is definitely a powerlifter! A bodybuilder is quite the opposite, they have very low bodyfat and it's all about looking like a statue carved from marble!
You are one hundred percent correct - I got my terms muddled!
You render metal so well!!!!!!
Render?
@@GranttheGreat_BOTTOM_TEXTrender has multiple definitions. Loosely means in this context that it’s been created and interpreted with an interesting technique.
More Gold and Bone! Love it, thank you. Truly appreciate the continued inspiration
GOSH I really want to make an original character for this universe. I can already think of so, so many good ideas!!
Hope to watch this world build on for as long as you make it!!!
I hate never having the money to give to artists that inspire me, and that includes you. I don't have the skills to convey what my mind creates beyond a mild skill for 3D modeling and a love of words.
I can see that you put a loot of tought and work to it, it is something that I really apreciate, and whith the right interpretation it is quite metalinguistic. Keep up with the good work, thank you
World building is fun. Too often when writing fantasy worlds there is a tendency to "default" to a standard, or if changes are made they are not significant. Granted when using that standard a writer may instead spend their time fleshing out another part of their world they have more interest in or see as more important, which is totally valid I just wish there was more culture writing in many of the stories/tabletop worlds i have seen. I appreciate this as the closest fantasy "default" i would compare these to are dwarves, and even then the comparison is limited (mountain folk and craftsmen). Keep up the good work.
I’m writing my own fantasy and these videos have been an amazing help the well thought out lore and magic system is chefs kiss amazing!
All the best with your own creative work!!
IRON
me like
awesome video Smolbrit! :D gotta check out more of your project, I have been meaning to but put it off too long!
And I love the aesthetic of these guys
Hey, that means a lot - thanks so much!
I am obsessed with the world building and how much detail you go into
This is by far my favorite world-building project right now, so unique and creative!
This is one of them most beautiful and detailed worlds. Absolutely magnificent and I'm excited to see it evolve and grow, regardless of speed!
I have to say your Gold and Bone series has been such a big inspiration for my university final project, I love the world building so much
I’m so curious about the children: their clothing, how the adults raise them. If they are Ornata, will it be covered? Awesome work, I’m so invested!!
I've never seen a more enthralling system and world than that of gold and bone
I look forward to seeing what more this world has to offer! This is such an incredible project!
There is nothing that makes me as happy as a nerdy world-building video! I am looking forward to more Gold & Bone lore. As a note, I personally have the memory of a toenail, so maybe it would be an idea to give a paragraph introduction to your world and a mark on your worlds-map where that culture lives at the beginning of your videos.
It’s unfair how obsessed I am with this project, the way people vary their magics and groups relations to magic is always so intriguing wahhh
this woud be a sick atla style series!!!!!
This is so cool! can already imagine so many cool ways to make interesting designs and stories. Crazy good T-T
This one of the most inspired and inspirational settings in progress I have seen in decades, I find myself hanging on for every video you upload,
Thank you for sharing this with us.
Your work is suuuper inspiring and the world building feels very human and believable ❤ would love to see some other factions
this world is so interesting, I cant wait to see more
I just saw your other Gold & Bone video, and then you upload this one. So exciting! I'm really enjoying this content. Can I ask what you're planning to do with this? (Are you creating a game, writing a novel, etc.?) Can't wait to see more!
I’m glad to see more of Gold & Bone. I can’t wait to see more from this world
You have such a chill voice, I can't wait to watch this!
I'm new to worldbuinding channels but I am absolutely in love with them!
This is such a cool idea and world, gives me tabletop rpg type of world where you could have playable stories. Eagerly awaiting for the next episode
This world you’re bringing to life is absolutely beautiful and awe inspiring! I feel so immersed watching your video!
Subscribed!! youre videos are so calming, you narrate so perfectly and have such intersting ideas! freakin love it. Your videos tickly my brain lmao
This is genuinly so interesting! Question: Are Ornata from different places more likely to have their 'unlockable' ability to be of a certain kind? Or is it entirely random?
A cool version of the Artisan culture, their use of expressions through action and utility based gifts is interesting
Your magic system video is really inspiring for my own creative works. Keep going!!
You are both a great artist and a great speaker. Awesome work.
I'm leaving a comment mostly so youtube knows to show me more of this. It's fantastic stuff!
I LOVE YOUR WORLD BUILDING. If you ever create a setting book, I would buy it in a heartbeat :)
I love the designs, lore is great too
design are absolutely beautiful though, conceptually and visually
Oh I love these guys.
Oh It is so good to see more gold & bone!
Amazing work! I love your stuff
Thank you so much for taking your time, I can already see it paying of in the beshat. Your videos manage to inspire me to dream and experiment with ideas again. Thanks for making them ^^
absolutely incredible. love it. i could listen to you talk about your world for hours. please do continue at your own pace!
I'm currently trying my hand at some heavier worldbuilding than I've ever done before and this video really encourages me to keep going cause this is so intresting and its only one community. I cant wait ro learn about the rest of the world you've created
Your work is absolutely amazing to watch! I really hope you continues this serie
Aw I discovered you awhile back and adore your worldbuilding :3
Just wanted to say hi!
These guys are just me and the Bois when given a piece of metal (we do engineering)
This is fantastic - I can't wait to see more!
I need more Gold and Bone content!!!
I absolutely adore them and have taken great inspiration
I simply love this idea, a community built around creative work that emboldens it's artisans, and whilst metalwork is their focus, I doesn't seem to me they'd discriminate against other forms of craft, after all they are likely to require tools from their fellow community members. And while it does seem they're focused on practicality, I'd love to know their outlook on artistry and creative expression within their crafts.
Love it! Looking forward to learning more about gold and bone!!
This is absolutely incredible!
Glad you're continuing to build the Gold & Bone setting!
Yes! More more more
Loving this series so far, can't wait to see more if it :)
I love this *_so much!_*
awesome work as always
such a fun video! love learning more about this story! :D
These guys are cool.
Like there isn't another way to say it. I love them and I have a feeling that many readers will one day hold your Bashaat (hope thats spelt right) as their abolute favorite character.
loved the video so much
thanks a lot for your work and sharing it!!! ♥♥
genuinly so cool
I love your world already, i can't wait for more!
Also, will you draw the towns and buildings of your world, or you will focus on people and objects?
I think I'll probably be doing a bit of everything! That being said, my primary focus is the people, just because those are what I have the most fun drawing!
your beautiful art paired with your peaceful storytelling is magical and immersive. looking forward to more gold & bone videos 🥰🥰
These are so amazing and really inspire me to world build
Hey I’m really excited to see where this world goes, but I’m wondering, why did the other video go down?
Hi there! Apologies, there was an issue with the audio which should hopefully be fixed now!
@@TheSmolBrit ok thank you for the clarification!
He seems to me to be a mix between the Unkalaki from the Stormlight Archive and the League of Legends god of the forge, Ornn.
I love it!
Lovely more of this
subscribed! I cant wait to see where this is going
I love your stuff
"Kind of like me" I see what you did there. 😎
I love how you render metal! Iron is really Something I struggle with, so this video is great for reference!
This is so cool, expecially I really like the figure of the prophet/oracle
i love them i have a similar (but not identical) culture in my work, yours however are much more thoroughly and beautifully designed good work
I NEED more!
i cant believe we get to see all this for free! feels like im pirating an illustrated book or something!
The return of The Brit!
Yo, no kidding I just started up pinterest and I had the exact same pins hahah. Great video Hannah, Looking foward to moreee
If the ornatas deep scars are replaced by gold aswell, It would make sense that there would be rituals surrounding this to perhaps increase their gold content to have more places to enchant ? Someone who’s been “tempered” ? Could come with the risk of being fully consumed by the gold or something
You always inspire to create new drawings or just get my ideas on paper! I hate when i miss your streams :(
awesome art
You should totally partner up with some Dungeons and Dragons creators and get a campaign going. This is very cool, and I love it.
i could imagine this as a ttrpg
Been waiting for this lol
DWARVES, but big.
A great idea indeed.
Absolutely love your artstyle and journey of this. the concept is super cool but I have 1 question as a fellow photoshop drawer/artist...What brushes do you use? (and where could i find them :))I'd love to use them myself! Again, you're doing a fantastic job on this concept!!!!
I frequently just use the default brushes, and a few painterly ones I jury-rigged ages ago! In particular, I've really enjoyed using the default Kyle's Real Oils brush for line art!
Beautiful world building
I love your work so i had to throw even a bit of money at your patreon
I love your videos
Mandalorian style. I liked it!
this is hella cool bro
i get that this is a world building thingy, but damn if this were a souls-like game it would go hard.
The iron mongers! Yay!
