Great lens for street photography using zone focus at F8 or higher. Really nice to see distance and depth of field markers on the lens.Great balance on my Nikon Z5. Nice to see TTArtisan making lenses for full frame now. No more APSC mode or vignetting.
Hey when using F8 and you put infinity symbol on F8, is your focus sharp? I have to move infinity more to the right of F8 to get sharp focus based on peaking concentration!
I just bought one for my sony A711. The colour shots do show vignetting in the corners but i can crop those out. Im going to try some black & White portraits next. All in all, im very happy with its performance as to its actual cost.
Hey which one should i get 7Artisans 35mm F1.4 or TT Artisans 35mm, TT artisans 50mmf2 1.4 or 7artisans 50mm F1.8 for portraits, Fashion and versatile lens?
I have the 1.4 at 50mm and it’s pretty nuts at the price. The annoying thing is it doesn’t have autofocus, been using it for casual activities and been working great.
@@tomdickson-m6l afraid I don’t have any m4/3 cameras. Don’t even have any crop bodies anymore! Haha. That being said, it’s a pretty sharp lens (for the price), so I wouldn’t foresee any issues.
Thank you for the video 👍 For your points on auto focus, while you should assess the functioning of autofocus for lenses that come with this option, the fact that a lens is manual shouldn't impact negatively the rating. A good number of photographers today prefer manual over auto; modern lens manufacturers such as TTartisans, Voigtländer, Lensbaby, Leica, Samyang still produce today manual lenses and for all budgets. So, why should these lenses by default get a 0/10? This is the same for price. Expensive/cheap is above all based on personal perception, and frankly cost has no influence on how a photo comes out. Should a crappy lens get a 10/10 simply because it costs less than €100?
Are you aware if there is a disassembly guide? Mine came apart when trying to adjust focus infinity and gave. It been able to put it back together. I only had it one day 😢
Oh for sure. With such a tiny lens it would almost be a better fit on APS-C. With full frame it’s a little cumbersome to get your hands on the focus and aperture rings with a bigger camera behind it.
If it anything like my old Minolta 1.7, although the optical quality is very nice, once adapted it’s significantly larger and has much worse flare control than the TTartisan. Very different looks as well. I would consider them a bit apples and oranges, oddly enough.

Yep, it’s a wonderful lens for street. Used it for that quite a bit!

Looks spectacular. Great review.
TTartisan really knows how to make tiny, impressive lenses!
@@WesPerry Definitely. I have their full frame 11mm f2.8 fisheye for Sony and I find it outstanding value. It is not tiny though.
Thank you for reviewing this lens, excellent video

Always a pleasure to see a new video on your channel👌 Greetings from Belgium.
Glad to hear it! Greetings from eastern Canada ;)
I just ordered one from B&H for my Lumix S1R. So cool to have a good tiny lens for walk around shooting. Thanks for the review.
That’s going to look Really small on an S1R! Haha
Hi Wes. Great review.but would appreciate your thoughts on picture quality when mounted on a micro four thirds camera like the om-1 ?

For you on a full frame it’s better this or 25mm 2.0 apsc with rf attack ( or the 50mm apsc with rf attack)? All ttartisans..
Just got this for $51 off aliexpress. cant wait for this to arrive.
Thank you for the video 👍

I’ve adjusted all such scores as of my more recent videos. Check out my Pergear 35 1.4 video for explanation 👍🏻
do you use your camera on crop mode for this lens? full frame on my canon eos r has quite a vignette?
5:10 are the circles in bg a real bokeh of this lens? It's so round.
The little yellow circles are fairy lights on the back wall turned into bokeh yeah. 👌🏻
Es mejor que el Ttartisan 35mm F1.4? Gracias
I have this lens and works fine But I would have preferred a smooth aperture ring or at least a stop at F11. No stops between f8 and F16
Why would you prefer smooth?
Its clicked, but you can still leave it between clicks. So you can actually stop inbetween f8 and f16
What camera did you use to take these photos? I have the Sony A7C
Mostly a7iv. Maybe some a9 in there.
What is the minimum focus distance. Could you use it to take close up of flowers not necessarily macro but close?
0.5m close focus. Not amazing, and def not macro level I’m afraid.
Wonder how it would behave with a little macro extending ring on it.
I have to get one for my Fuji
Definitely more ideal on a smaller body.
Is this available lens for Fujifilm XT200
Yep, it is!
Where do I find that hood????
I took it off a Pergear lens 👀
But some people have told me their TTartisan came with one, although mine didn't 🤷🏻♂
Hello. Do you think 50mm f2 for sharpness and minimal distortion? Or 50mm f1.2? . I'm looking to take art pictures. Thank you.
Depends what you mean by art pictures? And remember the 50 1.2 is an APS-C lens, not full frame.
picture on paper. my machine is canon 100d, aps-c. ttartisan 50 mm 1.2 is not more suitable ?
is it worth to buy if I have artisan 50mm 1.2 ?
On APS-C not really
Are you aware if there is a disassembly guide? Mine came apart when trying to adjust focus infinity and gave. It been able to put it back together. I only had it one day 😢
Oh wow. No, I doubt they would make a disassembly guide. Have you contacted the company?
@@WesPerry I haven’t no. Maybe I should. It’s my own mistake. I should have left it along 😕
I’ve only had to do that to one lens in the past, and I can’t say I ever expected the whole thing to fall apart!
is it okey for the apsc?
Oh for sure. With such a tiny lens it would almost be a better fit on APS-C. With full frame it’s a little cumbersome to get your hands on the focus and aperture rings with a bigger camera behind it.
Does the lens hood come with the lens?! Thanks!
That seems to be a matter of some debate. I’ve heard people both receiving and not receiving it.
@@WesPerry thanks for the quick reply!
$70 is absurd.
Dont get this
Get Pentax 50mm F1.7 instead very cheap and way better

The 50/2 is not actually a full frame lens.
