  • Something new for me is the concept of a Capsule Hotel, one business has set up in central Sydney not far from the Chinatown in the Central Business District.
It was quite cost effective, in a good location. Is it for everyone? Probably not, however here's a look at something that could take Australia's biggest cities as a new travel fad!
My thoughts and experience are on display here in this video, and I hope this helps anyone planning to visit Sydney, Australia and anyone considering using a Capsule Hotel!

I wonder if you and Alicja will now look at trying something like this if you head Eastward on a future trip? 😁

I am very intrigued to see this !! I am Japanese, we started this back in the 80's !! Lol. It was for " salary men "= business men & college students who missed their trains after drinking ,etc. Nowadays ,there are so many in Japan & other countries !! 👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞

We don't really have these in Europe so much, but its nice to see Australia is experimenting with them, it has a decent holiday market that would make good use of these.

You may have said it but how many showers were there? Decent amount of space in the capsule.
I was comparing it to a hostel and it looks good 👍

There were two showers. But they were shared between everyone, so you'd have to wait your turn. I found there to be enough space for me, but anyone over 6ft tall might have a differing opinion.

That's doesn't sound like a good ratio. I guess with people coming and going at different times it might work out.@@JettTyler17

I kept it in the locker, my baggage fit in there fine, but I was travelling light for an Australia trip!

It was declared on the website and the booking page before you make the booking, so its something that you can weigh up. The locker for your bags & stuff is locked using a keycard.

    How do you check in?

There's a manned reception. You check in as you would in a normal hotel.

These things have a place in the travel industry, but they're not for everyone, that's for sure
