New Martinez/Atlas 46 Collaboration Tool Bag Setup

- First off....This is the new Martinez/Atlas 46 collaboration tool bag. I don't know how many times I said Atlas 64....but you guys get the idea. I have been wearing some version of this Martinez bag since Mark first started prototyping it. It has been a pretty killer little bag and I think it will serve a lot of different tradesmen very well. Best part is made in America like all of Marks Tools
I can usually gauge the need to make a video based on the number of comments I receive, and there have been a continuous stream of questions regarding this pouch. I still love my gRRande setup from Diamondback and this isn't a complete replacement. They are not even the same setup. The fact remains however, I really enjoyed them even as a framer.

anyone want to count how many times I call it the Atlas 64 vs atlas 46 bags..... I am an idiot lol. Hope this helps all those wondering about the bags I have been wearing.
Counted how many times you kissed sponsor's asses but more power to you free is free
That's funny cos I've never seen him kiss a sponsors arse and I've watched most of the videos. I have however seen him give a fair few well thought, genuine tool reviews. Your bad!
Yup. This guy never kisses butt. I seen him using the Dewalt framing gun and he didn’t have anything good to say that’s when I knew I could trust his reviews. That gun is a pile of doo doo.
I think when they 1st came out they were atlas 64, but changed to atlas 46, I still call em 64, but im dyslexic which is really hard to spell
Can you send a link to the hammer sleeve you have in this video?
It’s great! My shed has been completed and it turned out nice looking and sturdy and it is way better than the sheds that many of my neighbors had put up. Of course, I'm pleased with the outcome and this Ryan’s ruclips.net/user/postUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans was extremely useful to me as a guide.
That’s sure a nice tool belt & pockets/pouches, Kyle! We love watching you. This was quite informative. Thank you. Now on to building! 😉
God bless you for sharing your knowledge and thank you. I am learning a lot about building a pole barn home
I have watched this video more than 30 times no lie can’t wait to get mine.
Man the magnets for the bit pouches is a great idea.
It seems like the removable magnet would also make it easier to clean out, not having permanently embedded metal grit
"I'm hoping I left it on site, cuz I have no idea where it is" is a reoccurring theme for me. 😂
Looks like a great bag for trim work or remodeling/ install jobs
Tool bag review. The exact diversion I needed from the election coverage.
Thats what I'm saying
I interpreted this as a pun
Yes , .me too. Thanks Kyle. Only thing better would be Gregory doing the tools day review . I want to know his opinion
Your comment reminded me to go check out the election coverage! Lol forgot all about it until just now
Trump won.
Been waiting for this vid, & knew you’d eventually get to it.
Been seeing the Martinez bag for awhile out in the “wild”, & looks pretty good, & glad Mark is expanding his products. Love the “tools” he designs & makes for us
Happy Holidays 🎅🏻
That extra sleeve on the Ox would be prefect for my cell phone!
Great review that looks like a well made bag personally I don’t like a bag on my right I just have a big one on my left and a drill holster on my back. That would be a great bag for an electrician to keep screw drivers and wire strippers in.
I don't know how you can switch often between pouches like that. Every time I try something new, I get so lost, it's like learning to walk all over again. lol
Yet, the more you do it, the easier it gets
Would it be weird if plumbers started using this? Just tool belts in general
I find myself reaching for my hammer in my day to day all the time lmao.
Just grab the head and slide it out the extra 15 inches or so makes the perfect poking/reaching stick 😂
Interesting pouch- I will stick with my Diamondbacks! Nice of you to help promote it for Mark tho.
That sems like what im more looking for. Thanks for sharing
I have been waiting to buy the OX pouch till they put the micro square slot in. It is absolutely perfect for nail strips
A divider in the grande on the lower pouch would be killer, I have diamond back pouches on my harness and my hands are to big to get the nails out of the bottom 2 pouches
Milwaukee stud hanging on for dear life in that little pocket!!
If the Diamondback pouches wear out before the end of my career I will go back to Occidental fat lip, greatest bags ever made hands down
looks like a great bag if i can ever get mine , im 5 weeks out after i paid for it. even when it was supposed to be in stock, now they say it could be another 4 weeks.
Hey, I'll gladly wear any setup Atlas wants to provide this weekend when I'm working for my local Habitat for Humanity.
We're just setting trusses and hitting it hard!
I like the Menards pouches. Very inexpensive, many options, and life time warranty. When it breaks they give you a new one.
is that Masterforce?
Looks like a great pouch, but boy do I wish they made it more like a drywall size. My occidental drywall pouch is very versatile and carries about everything I need, even for electrical work. If they copied that design and added the hammer holder, that would be perfect for me. I could use this bag on the left side, but I would miss my 7" speed square.
Love those micro square pouches... perfect for my little 4in milwaukee
I've been seeing a lot of love micro squares. I've never used one, and am struggling to see why they are worth the carry. Why do you like them? (Please don't take this as an attack im genuinely curious)
@@stoli-9574 you ever found out the answer to your question?
I always carry a regular 7in square, I can’t think of any single scenario where I was thinking “damn I wish I had a smaller square…
Im also a minimalist, I don’t want to carry around shot I don’t need
@@SweetStat nah, never heard anything. I'll just keep stumbling through the world using the same tool to square off 2" material that I would use on 8" material. 🤷♂️
I noticed you had the Stud rather than the Wide Blade there. Any reason in particular, or just what was on the shelf?
I enjoyed the video on the pouch, I even checked out the website. Good stuff. However, I've been looking for the Carpenter Framing Square w/ built-in stair gauges, that your body made a lot of videos back. I'm very interested in it, also I just finished your video series on Large Post Frame Build, Red with black wainscot, nice build. The bib that you and your guys wearing, could I get the link for them? They look like a quality product. Also, I thought I would mention, I like the fact that you take "rough framing" to another level. It tells me a lot about your standards. Thank you
Seems like a good lil bag for an electricians trim out bag
Nicely Done 👍🏽📐🔨
I'm a fire sprinkler fitter it would be great if a company made a set of bags compatible with what we do like a pipe wrench holder like that hammer one that would be sweet love the video man keep it up
Check out Atlas 46 they do have setups for about every trade and magnet patches that are said to be strong enough for larger wrenches. Extremely expensive stuff but also worth it.
Hey Kyle, I love my Diamondback bags, I use the Artisan, but I am considering getting an OX pouch only for my LH side. I just need the organization for my right because I carry so many things.
I would love to know if the micro square slot is a permanent option because I can not live without it. I know you can not speak for them, but if you find out please let us know.
I appreciate your videos.
I’ve always used an old school leather tool belt (20 years). I’m inspired to try your diamondback belt. Thanks for explaining everything so well
Should go with a badger belt
Should of told diamondback to make a 2 small pouches on the bottom left side. I use 16d and 8d. Having 2 bottom pouches on left would help keep those seperate.
Hello Kyle, I was listening to the Fine homebuilding podcast. During the whole podcast, I kept saying, this voice sounds familiar. I didn't know it was you until you mentioned your RUclips channel. I found you about a month ago and I have been watching all your videos on LP Smartsiding. (Getting ready to reside my house). I cant wait to go back and watch your post frame videos. Thanks for the great channel. Randall
Wow thanks man
Looks good, extra storage on the right side. Doesn’t look like there’s any spot for a heavier tool(Milwaukee cordless framer) to hang on.
“I like big *bags* and I cannot lie...”
Hammer sleeves are clutch!
I was wondering what kind tool pouch does Greg wear?
P.s i’v ordered the Martinez tool pouch.
Great review I'm deffinately grabbing one my problem is the actual belt I wear asize 50 waist pant and I cannot find a padded belt that fits my waist any suggestions thank you
Lose the weight 💁
I still use huge old leather bags & belts from the 1990's, lol 😊👍🇺🇸
Sorry another tool belt question. Now that you have tried a small and a medium size waist belt which is your preference for fit?
Great Video! I'm considering the Grrande setup and they look great. Are they as light as they look? I'm currently wearing 15 + year old Oxylights and would love to go even lighter if that's possible. I think you have by far the best info on RUclips regarding Diamondback belts. Thanks a lot for the insight
!
I switched from my oxy bags
That looks perfect, I just wish it wasn’t 150
Great video hey what’s the brand of yours headphones thanks
Do you have an inside source to get this pouch? I've been trying since December. Keep saying 8 to 10 weeks.
Are there any loops for bigger snips siding snips any we're to put them
I kind of want to try this out for checking grade
IIRC Atlas 46 was founded by a guy who has a ton of experience building tactical gear for military and police buyers. well regarded from what i've seen.
I think he was the proprietor of Eagle Industries. Once a huge military supplier.
military and police have nothing whatsoever to do with tradesmen. If he has experience making gear for military, then he will be absolutely worthless making gear for tradesmen.
@@tallswede80 they don't need gear to carry and organize their tools? Weird that sounds exactly like what soldiers cops and tradesman need. I'm sure his success in this business is just a fluke though.
@@aerosaaber
lotta shit gets sold to the american public. Look at how many morons bought bitcoin.
Police are herding/bashing people. All that's required for that is a sociopathic personality. Tradesmen are manipulating objects in order to build something, which requires high IQ and math skills. Cops are massively overrated.
Here in the nordic countries, we're really big on tool vests and I've been teetering on buying the Atlas46 Saratoga for a while. Have you looked into that system and or company or would that mess up your good relationship with diamondback?
That vest is really nice. I have it. Very versatile and pretty much no matter the type of work you do you can upfit it to your preferences. It gets hot though and I cant wear it in the summer, so i have the toolbelt too.
Can you do a review of the new setup of your diamondback
That's one way to low-key advertise. well done
Is that Versetta Stone on your wall? Never thought of it for inside application, thanks.
Yes it is
I have a hell of a time putting my rubber handle hammer in the sleeve but wood no problem
Nice tool bag review. What are the brown work boots you usually wear? Looking for a new pair and am thinking about something else than my RW’s.
Coworker has the reebok safety shoes he loves em. Another wears ironworker boots cause he says better traction when you're sheeting the roof.
I hope Martinez have a tool belt with the bag.(I don't like tools belt slied all the time. ), and when the new OX bag with the micro square set will available? I have smae problem could find a space for my micro square. I have the GRR one for 9 month, and I really like It.
Does the belt stink after sweating in it? Like how under armor smells vs leather or cotton?
The diamondback bags don’t stink but the basic suspenders do .
Have you ever tried Makita Belt or Snikki Belt ? @RR Buildings
Is it strong enough to hold a paslode
Framing nail ?
love the video. what that padded belt called?
Kyle , any chance you can tell me what size belt you went with ?
I want the hammer sleeve, where can I get it?
Can I get a hammer sleeve for left handed swingers?
Just swap it
Could you do a boot video ? I am interested in what you would recommend.
Agree
Habe you ever used Pica Dry Markers?
What the brand of those single side tool belt that you show? I like it very much...that single side black color tool belt that have huge pockets...what brand name of it bro...I'm curious.
Occidental Fatlip for me got the m1 too
So this is what Martinez has been working on, instead of getting us full size titanium framing squre!
Lol titanium is hard to
Come by I’m told
@@RRBuildings :
Cool story on Titanium, during the Cold War, I think it was the CIA created a shell company to buy Titanium from the USSR / Soviet Union so it could build the SR71 Blackbird, & spy on the very same country.
Now that’s taking care of business like a boss.
Atlas 46 has been making tool belts for many years now. I have their vest and their padded tool belt as well as many, many of the pouches. Its all American made with military grade fabric and stitching and its indestructible (much like I would assume DB toolbelts are) Thje magnets on the hammer sheath are an Atlas 46 thing, not a Martinez thing. They have magnets in a ton of their pouches and they're handy as hell sometimes. And yes, you did transpose the 4 and 6 in their name quite a few times haha.
Atlas vest weighs 3 lbs LOL. Try the diamondback vest. I got the Diamondback 701 vest (1.1 lbs) and I through out my atlas46 saratoga vest (3.0 lbs) the next week. Atlas46 makes such garbage. I bought a lot of Atlas46 when I first started construction and carpentry... I since have learned that they are absolute trash and heavy as hell. I prefer my Blaklader work vest. I prefer my Snickers Work vest, and I REALLY prefer my Diamondback 701 vest to the super heavy stiff AF saratoga vest.
I’ve been waiting months for mine.
I’m assuming you’ve received your bag by now. Just curious how long did it end up taking?
I wish they made the second pocket on both sides for the grande
I'd love to hear about your thoughts on your Truewerk pants. I was just introduced to them and absolutely love them.
Dude I’ve been wearing Truewerk for ever!! I actually have a code you can use and save 15%. RRKYLE15
What atlas 46 product is best for sparkies?
Maybe when I get a 1099 instead of a W2 so I can write them off 👀
Do they make it in a left-handed model
Do you actually use the micro square? Why do you carry the micro square as well as the regular size rapid square? I kinda want to get the the micro square, but I think it will be redundant.
I was about to ask this, too. Would love to read/hear more.
Website doesn't show hammer sleeve..
great for electrician
My Grande came today and it doesn't have small square pouch.
Good evening, I would like to know how I can buy on Amazon. I can't find that model.
Got the atlas 46 pouch not a fan of how it sticks out and seems like the magnetism would stick to the scaffolding I use daily
Occidental + stilleto is by far the very best
Hi Kyle!
Thanks
anyone know it this will fit on occidental belt?
Is there a left hand version?
Just swap it. Either way
Where i found the hammer sleve
What bits do you use? I’ve never seen colored bits before
Grk
@@RRBuildings thanks for the response! I’ll check them out!
I think this is a good bag for electricians.
32x34 represent! Favorite pant manufacturer that you are able to find in your size?
Truewerk
Nothing beats buckaroo tool belts
Good morning from St John Parish, Louisiana 04 Nov 20.
How do you guys stop your diamondback belt from slipping. I've done it up as tight as I can with a belt sized down one from what their guide said to get so I wouldn't have this problem, yet I'm having this problem. The belt slides down and the bottom edge of the belt digs into me, like it doesn't want to sit flat on me, the bottom edge digs in and the top edge is just floating so that I can fit my hand in behind it. It's absolutely killing my lower back, and this is the 6 inch belt that I got because it was suppose to be good support for the lower back. I do have the suspenders but I overheat too easy and they chaffe the hell out of me, so I'd rather just wear the belt. Anyone had this problem and come up with a solution.
I'm using the 6 inch medium belt on the denali 2.0. I'm 6'0 215lbs, and measurements said I should get the large, which would have been on the ground completely.
Wear an atlas vest Saratoga. Pouches hang from it.
I’m a form setter/framer. Been using the 701 vest with Grande bags for a year now. No bite on hips, on bunching when bent over . Vest is really comfortable. My back feels great with this set up. Try a vest. I think you will like it.
@@TR-rn3pd The problem I'd run into is overheating unfortunately. As soon as I start working I'm down to a t-shirt, even now on 0 celsius days. With just the suspenders on I was melting, so I think I'd have problems with the vests.
@@MrTHEBRITINWA I've always really liked the idea of the vest, I just get too hot unfortunately.
@@curtis6252 it breathes, however use is potentially limited by location use. As in state, time of year. Cheers
I recently purchased the Denali and opted for the 4” belt and find when working and bending over the buckle tends to dig into my side my buckle sits more to one side of belt instead of centered since you have experience with diamondback would you recommend larger or smaller belt
I go with the 6”
Hello, what kind of bags do you recommend to a new contractor.
Omg! Thank you so much. Now I will go look at it on the website and I may purchase it
I used to buy mcguire nichols black label...I think that is how you spell the brand. $100 and pretty comfortable. They usually last about a season or two
@@RRBuildings ok, I will look at those as well.
Bad boy Kyle.
So you have lost your Tajima.
If your cost as much as mine, you better go find it boy. 😁🤣
I have a pouch on the front of my belt for my tape measure. (Also Tajima) 🙈🤫😁
Theres kyle who is talking about $450 bags then theres me who wishes I could get the cheap husky ones from home depot
I was there too. Takes time
what's the word on that hammer though?
欲しすぎる....
Leather is king and Oxcidental and tool specific holders are best Martinez tools are nice but some are stupid no speed square is worth 200$
My Occidental framer set, with a third bag in back didnt cost $200 15yrs ago.
Martinez square is $200
@@donb8447 they're king bet you're bags are still in good condition. Can you imagine paying 200$ for a speed square oh but it's got scribe marks on it and a saw wrench that sucks I use my finger a pencil and a tape measure to scribe a line hasn't failed me yet until I lose my fingers I guess and my saw comes with a wrench
@@jayg479 I'm sorry only 179$
@@chet174able my Swanson has served my needs well for 18 yrs...
And yes they are!! I oil my bags 3 or 4 times a year, they have aged well over those yrs...
What’s the price point of the grande?
$450 bucks. Nonsense!
