I got Visian ICL done in 2014 while I was in the Army. The procedure took less than 10 minutes for both eyes. It was done by Colonel Maximilian Psolka. I was 20/400 and it absolutely changed my life. I do have some very mild dryness in my left eye and it’s not quite as sharp as the right eye but overall I’m very happy with the outcome!

What was yr eye power?
I have advance keratoconus and did do Cross Linking on both my eyes. I am -11(L) and -8 (r) and my left eye I pretty much just see a blur (with my glasses) so its very frustrating and embarrassing when i go out and not recognize people’s faces. Would an ICL be something that would help me improve my vision, especially my left eye? Thank you in advance if you could answer.
How many grade in required on this
I’ve made glasses for many years and have never seen a 18 yr old with stable vision, it usually increases over time. How can hormonal changes and medical issues be predetermined? I guess if you have a high minus and want relief from weight and thickness. I’m assuming there are no guarantees. I would love to see a trifocal implant😅. Wouldn’t that be awesome!
When this surgery is done do you have the option to be put to sleep?
No - this procedure is really easy, no need to put you to sleep. Also if we put you to sleep your eyes would roll backwards and would make performing the procedure difficult. @@DrBoxerWachler I have +4 hyperopia in one eye only with a deep AC of more than 3mm. They do Visian ICL for hyperopia here in Europe, Would you recommend it as a safe implant for hyperopes? Thanks

I regret my ICL decision. I have constant flickering of lights in my eyes. Mostly the left. Ive been to numerous doctors and my surgeon. He says its a PVD but I have had it for 15 months. Not normal. My eye might be damaged. I have dysphotopsia aswell from the icl. Were the light that passes the icl sometimes reflects the light and you see a light beam in your eye.
Icl is supposed to be reversible so guess you still have options
@@saiksaikatai594 I have the same symptoms, but they are from the iridotomy that was done as a pre-op procedure for the ICL. Iridotomies are not reversible.

(If possible with Patients that didn't tolerate contacts and with cornea thickness around 400. And some Results after a bit of time. Would be very interesting to know. )
And also if there are ANY other solutions if we can't do the ICL and can't tolerate contacts(like new procedures, new hope)

Well, the Implementation of Toric ICL is not that simple as what the doctor wants you to believe, don't get me wrong, he is a very good Eye surgeon and i not doubt one second what he says but there are numerous factors it needs to be evaluated first.
For people with irregular astigmatism or Keratokonus there are many factors to be considered, Toric ICL is only fully effective if you have a mild Keratokonus and not advanced one, if you have a good Vision with your glasses still with Keratokonus, it will much likely will see the same visual effect but with better corrected vision with TICL.
The KC must be first stabilized with CXL or ICS at least a year.
With advanced Keratokonus it will not have any effect or just very minimal even with TG-LASEK and CXL already done.
Has this procedure been approved by Health Canada?
Not sure. We have patients fly down from Canada every week to have with Dr. Brian because he is one of the top experts and performs this procedure every week. @@DrBoxerWachler hello, as you mentioned you carry out icl for near sightedness in keratokunus, does that mean you will tackle miopia with icl but how will you tackle the surface of irregular cornea? Does this mean keratoconus patient will still see multiple visions or the irregularity of cornea is also fixed with ICL?
@@kotlikalan2 first step is to improve the cornea structure with Holcomb C3-R Crosslinking and Intacs and possibly CK. Then we perform Visian ICL 6 months later

Are there any limitations from a physical perspective after getting the ICL procedure? After healing, would I be able to maintain my normal physical activities such as running, hiking, ect.?

Can someone have ICL done even if they have had cornea transplants? The transplants were done due to KC. Minus prescription (-4 in both eyes been stable for at least 3 years in left eye and 10 years in right eye) I also have Astigmatism. Any advice is appreciated.

How can we distinguish between a Staar evo lens and a locally produced lens?? Doctor said they have got staar evo lens for my procedure but I'm not sure if it is authentic staar evo lens! Please help

I have had phakic lens implants already. I was.bear.blind (miopic) with astigmatism. The phakic implants worked miracles, but I am still about to lose my pdps which are essential for me to earn a living. I am 57 years old. Can this be added to the panic implants to further correct my vision?

hi doctor, what's the lifespan of these implants? If I would have cataracts when I get older and when these lenses have to be removed, it effectively means I will be back to day 1 with my nearsightedness and astigmatism? Or when one is 60+ let's say, they can still perform this surgery together with cataract surgery? i.e. have perfect eyesight and cataract removed.
The implants remain until you develop cataracts. At the time when you have cataracts, a new lens is inserted that will correct your nearsightedness and cataracts.

Can this be done on someone who is 66 years old. My vision is -3.75 in the left eye -4.75 in the right. I also have astigmitism in in the mid range. I've been told cataracts can be seen, but as of yet they haven't caused me a problem. reading 2.50

Im curious is it possible to remove ICL lenses with no harm to the natural eye lens? And if a person carrying ICL lenses suddenly rubs his eyes, say after a month from the procedure, what would be the outcome? Will the lens get displaced ??
