This show is probably one of the greatest uses of a Fender Bass VI ever recorded. The Bass VI is such an unusual instrument that is seldomly used; so its amazing that not only is it played on every track but its also front and center!
Truly a timeless song from a superb album. Priest = Aura is my favorite album by The Church...well, maybe after "Heyday". All the songs work, and seem to flow together. Why these guys never achieved a greater recognition is beyond me...
Got the Priest=Aura album when it came back in 1990 and with this opener became a loyal listener. This is such an under-rated album; this is a stone-cold classic featuring brilliant guitar, bonkers words from Steve and a bravura performance from everyone. More than voracious they sucked our ambition - superb Great, great band Miss MWP, such a brilliant guitarist and a key part of the band. Got new album on pre-order and sounds great ... they never let us down Priest=Aura
Always been my favorite band. Saw them open with this song at a small club in Richmond 3 years ago. It was not a show. It was an experience. No band has kept this kind of talent for so many decades
Agreed. It's a masterpiece, really. And a real mind trip at the same time. Love especially the track Chaos. It doesn't get much better than that, now, does it.
Damn this is such a great live version. The Church's albums are woven with so much intricacy their live shows are competing with incomparable studio productions--but this one KILLS!
when these gentlemen die, which will hopefully be never, they should rest in the Parthenon.....absolute musical gods. thanks for so many wonderful journeys!
i remember listening to this album why driving deep in Baja (aka 'nowhere') with nothing, just dirt, rocks, cactus, dry heat, the occasional token vulture, and the perpetual hum of the tires in the background. second closet I have ever come to nirvana, only cause first was seeing my son born. sombreros off to Kilbey and friends.
album and band from another planet. incredible. 1991 The Church / Blue Aeroplanes - Boston, Massachusetts. Set my 18 year old brain straight and crooked forevermore.
‘’And on The Eighth Day, God created Psyche Rock. And God heard that it was good. It was rich and beautiful beyond the telling; its interweaving harmonies and melodies, mere sound, somehow captured the eternal essence of the firmament and described the otherwise indescribable passions of The Soul. And She said to Steve, Marty and PETER; ‘You are my ROCK and on this ROCK I will build the church.’’ In time Past, Present & Future they are Perfect. Fuck yeah!
Dam I really enjoy the Church......this song is like a trip through my past and porthole into the future, it never gets old as far as I am concerned...
The best woven guitar parts in the business..... period.... I saw them in 1991 at a very nice venue for acoustics in Raleigh NC .... I was transformed in a night to a band I liked into one that I thought got the best live sound of any I had heard.... and I do listen hard... I wish I had to chance to hear them is a really large hall... I would love to hear all those guitar parts bloom in a large venue.....I have still not have anyone really approach that sonic quality, but for me the guitars have to cross over one another and the parts have to be very well orchestrated... They did seem to waste any notes....
I have listened to this album innumerable times, and when listening to the album's first track live, it's like listening to it for the first time again.
Hands down, my favorite Church album ( I have them all starting with Seance.) I can put this album on and before I know it it has ended. There are not many bands that have put such a "listenable" album out. "Priest = Aura is a masterpiece!
I snuck into a soundcheck ( pretending to be a roadie) in Perth , 1992 . Just me as audience. Chaos was the closer. No drugs needed that day my friends. Met them all. ( apart from Steve, cranky days ….MWP was a lovely guy) obviously a day I’ll cherish forever. A few photos, but by gumminy, wish iPhones were around that day.
I about piss my pants with glee listening to the genius of The Church. The only band I have ever drifted into the stars into the universe listening to......
I wish Moshcam would do a documentary on this concert and how it was recorded- it's astonishing sound quality. Somebody was looking at oscilloscopes and moving mics around by the quarter inch. Postproduction can do a lot but you can never make bad basic tracks sound like this.
Epic song and tremendous performance from my favorite Church album. Any musician out there know what synth was originally used for the intro and outro on Aura? The Juno G they brought on stage at this show didn't quite nail the eerie warm pad sound.
still no thumbs down after over 19,00 views!! Us Church fans must have the best record ever on the percentage of views/dislikes. However, since we have zero dislikes at the moment, a percentage cannot be calulated, as anything divided by 0 results in either undefined or infinity, neither of which is a calculable. So, my good friends, to help me find the percentage, and thereby go to bed, I need some brave soul to vote "dislike". However, if you do, please identify yourself for this limited audience we have.
I'm 67 now and have followed them with interest since 1980. An extremely important to me live or recorded. Thank you Steve Kilbey.
Moi aussi j'ai 67 ans et j'ai découvert ce groupe il y à 6 ans.Il sont presque aussi bons que les WHO.
One of the best bands on the planet for over 30 years.
Only this world is not a planet - this is it Gods creation, like in the bible .
Yes insuperable the church ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
40+ Yrs
@@peterfallows6802 True, but effectively God did create the entire universe, of which the world is just a (very small) part.
@@peterfallows6802 god didn't write any bible unless Steve Kilbey is God
There's absolutely no filler on this album - any song could have been a single. Every one's a winner, baby. 😺👍🏻
the best band to grace our planet.
Everything is so clear. You can hear the nuance of every instrument. The sound engineer knows his stuff
And that as we well know counts bigtime with this group's awesome sound!
This show is probably one of the greatest uses of a Fender Bass VI ever recorded. The Bass VI is such an unusual instrument that is seldomly used; so its amazing that not only is it played on every track but its also front and center!
Holy God, hearing and listening to this with headphones is just the most amazing experience. Thank you!
Yeah, but is it REALLY?
Nah, its not
one of the best mixed live concerts ever. And a happier time for Marty and Steve.
Timeless and haunting. Thank you Steven, Marty, Peter, and drummers Richard, Ian & Tim for over 35 years of aural and mental stimulation.
A part of me will never be free and the part that's free will never be me.
Genius lyrics
The Church always you make feel better
Truly a timeless song from a superb album. Priest = Aura is my favorite album by The Church...well, maybe after "Heyday". All the songs work, and seem to flow together. Why these guys never achieved a greater recognition is beyond me...
Big album
Big big album. The power is timeless.
Got the Priest=Aura album when it came back in 1990 and with this opener became a loyal listener.

Great, great band
Miss MWP, such a brilliant guitarist and a key part of the band.
Got new album on pre-order and sounds great ... they never let us down
Priest=Aura
Terrific album, sounds even better live.
Always been my favorite band. Saw them open with this song at a small club in Richmond 3 years ago. It was not a show. It was an experience. No band has kept this kind of talent for so many decades
One of the finest moments from the high priest, and his fellow wizards.
Priest=Aura is imho The Church's best ablum. Severly underrated.
I just listened to it for the first time, can’t stop, won’t stop, eh eh, eh eh.
Agreed. It's a masterpiece, really. And a real mind trip at the same time. Love especially the track Chaos. It doesn't get much better than that, now, does it.

That’s a great one. My favorite is “Lustre”.
Not underrated by me
They’ve got too many ‘best’ albums
Damn this is such a great live version. The Church's albums are woven with so much intricacy their live shows are competing with incomparable studio productions--but this one KILLS!
This song is everything
The greatest rock band on the planet.
no doubt!
I would say in the universe. ha, ha. No better band will ever be!
Not a planet - " the truth is stranger thanfiction"
Only we know
Après les WHO

Amazing. The Church are in my top 5 bands of all time. Great song from there greatest album I believe. Great smoking pot song
This was the first song I was exposed to during my time in Minneapolis! Since then I became a huge fan of this marvelous band!
one of my fav records of all times
Outstanding job capturing this. Quality is outstanding.
This mix is how I want all mixes to be mixed. I'm so glad The Church was captured at that time in this way.
Utter brilliance!
Genius guitar playing
Marty is never better after watching this a gazillion (times) miles for one of your smiles, as the rich man blew.
Awesome guitar player he let's rip on here .
Wow this was magnificent.
Such a good album. This performance is top class
so much better live than their studio cuts.
Great musicians....great music i never get tired of them...
Lyrics sublime instruments unimaginable. One of many great songs
Thanks for uploading this epic live version. Really will miss Marty though...
Yes, me too.
Great performance of a great song.
Both this and the Icehouse Moshcam concert's are nothing short of briĺliant.
album and band from another planet. incredible. 1991 The Church / Blue Aeroplanes - Boston, Massachusetts. Set my 18 year old brain straight and crooked forevermore.
One of the best ‘slow burn’ songs of all time
Lyrics are inspiring and way way elevated.
Fav album of my fav rock band!!
So sad South America has never had the luck to see their show...
Great song on the album, but awesome in this live performance. Can’t stop listening to it A+++++
Really hope they open with this on the upcoming UK dates. The first 2 minutes building up will be enough to give me goosebumps. Can't wait!
its the full package , great songs strings ringing out , the voices together the Church stuff. huge volume of shows. theyre immense
the only band that matters anymore
Yeah!
Possibly true Captain
indeed!, with the exception of the Beatles
so fuckin' true
WONDERFUL VERSION, LIKE THE WHOLE CONCERT! BUENÍSIMOS!
One of their best tracks

Great band!!!
Hermosa musica
que bonita la música :p
This stuff is awesome. Sounds killer.
They played this live in Vancouver a couple of years ago. An amazing track live.
I love this music

Something quite profound about this one - great album too.

Excellent to hear "Aura" live..
increíble. Que gran musica. Que gran grupo
Arte y poesia. Gracias.
Amazing version
150 views of one of the best performances ever!
Amazing band, love from Chile!
Pura Poesía. Son extraordinarios
priest = aura
best concept album all time, apologies to Pink Floyd's many great concept albums.
Great people still comment on this :-) Awesome sound! I concur the last few comments in the last 24 hours...

No hay suficientes palabras para definir esta canción! Poesía en estado puro

The Enmore! Saw the 1992 concert there - so much energy in that room that night!
Most likely, the deepest, widest song they have ever written.
Sonzeira! Great band.
I about piss my pants with glee listening to the genius of The Church. The only band I have ever drifted into the stars into the universe listening to......
Awesome
Just lovely.
Great live version of this opening song from this great album.
Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for Subscribing! 🎸
Priest Aura Great Album. Fantastico!!!!
great video and sound!!
thank you!
For me, this record has always been sort of the closest cousin, whom i'll keep in touch til the day i die.
I wish Moshcam would do a documentary on this concert and how it was recorded- it's astonishing sound quality. Somebody was looking at oscilloscopes and moving mics around by the quarter inch. Postproduction can do a lot but you can never make bad basic tracks sound like this.
Stunning
Zero thumbs down! as it should be!
Willson-Piper & Koppes. One of the best guitar duos ever.
How have I not heard of this band before !
loved it!!!!
This is fucking awesome!!
This is such a coooooool song and I'd be the only one dancing like a fool at a Church concert.
Marty is just fantastic. Really he’s gotta’ be an alien!
yeah we miss marty but the FECKIN SHOW MUST GO ON!
only 134 views of the best live song ever!!
Is this show on dvd? This sounds better than the album version!
Epic song and tremendous performance from my favorite Church album. Any musician out there know what synth was originally used for the intro and outro on Aura? The Juno G they brought on stage at this show didn't quite nail the eerie warm pad sound.
It was so warm that intro
They kill their enemies by loving them to death.
they captured 3 of us, took us back to their village
...i tell ya they don't wanna play with us anymore...
I could decipher their LANGUAGE

Sorry, but NO
I did it, but only because you requested; I thought the song was pretty groovy.
then you shouldn't have listened to me, dude
