This sounds SOOOO GOOD! If you ever wondered if Collective Soul dressed up their studio sound with a lot of tricks that could never be performed live, then this proves that false. It sounds just exactly like the studio version and this was LIVE kiddies! No Pro Tools fakery here.
I saw Rick Beato interview their lead singer, and he said he yelled “Yeah” through the cardboard at the center of a used roll of toilet paper in the studio. Some trick! I saw them open for Hootie and the Blowfish last night, and he doesn’t even sing that part anymore. All 25k people in attendance did it for him!!! I guess that’s the real trick!

Usually I don’t get to hear this song on the radio, but I did just today and it just made my day! They usually just play the same handful of CS songs. GOOD songs, but it’s nice when anything else of theirs gets any air time at all!
Was born in 2001 😢 only got to know the 90s and Collective Soul from my parents. Wish I could’ve grown up back then. Did get to see Collective Soul live recently and they still sound amazing !

Love it when the back up band blows the big boys off the stage. It happened in Houston in 1980 on the Rolling Stones Steel Wheels tour when ZZ Top opened for them in the 70,000 seat Astrodome for two nights only. The Little Ole Band from Texas showed up and showed out!
From 2:30 to 2:51 is the best I think I have seen. I’m 58 and have been into music since the mid 70’s. And so into it all through the 80’s and 90’s. Freaking epic guitar and camera work 😎🤘🏼
This band has the best sound I think I’ve ever heard. As Howard Stern says, “damn that’s good”. I have been listening to this song for years now. I could listen to it on a 24 hour loop.
I heard this song for the First time Yesterday on the radio. I Love the heck outta' it! I saw them Once at Toad's Place in New Haven, CT right after "SHINE" came out. I didn't know until yesterday, that they are so much More! Thanks for this! (PS the guitarist looks like Deeks (from NCIS LA). Anyone-else see that?
Collective Soul is a band with notes and riff handed down from the Mountains of SOUND and hits the listener with a rhythm and time that moves hearts and shakes the core of our musical temple.
Came of age in the 90's, this song didn't stand out from their other singles as much as say Shine or Gel (which I don't care for as much now), but after getting nostalgic and revisiting CS, this is definitely my favorite CS track , esp. when it's played like this. I don't think the original recording had the bass levels right like it is here.

My AWESOME Dad turns on the radio and about 25 mins later he yells, "This is them and turns the radio up". My eyes get big as quarters and I jump outta my seat and yell, "OMG, I LOoooVE this band. I listen to them on the radio ALL THE TIME"!! I just didn't know the name at the time!! I say "Dad, you did a great job. Cool Dad move"!! Needless to say, I was very happy with his choice and we all had a blast all night long. Ross Childers changed my life forever that night without him knowing it!! I have loved electric guitar ever since that night. I mean I really LOVE it and ALL who play it. Ross plays with his soul. I hated to hear that he was no longer in the band. Collective Soul was one of the more underrated rock bands of the '90s
Imagine if they were in Seattle instead of Stockbridge?
Never underrated! Legend band. I still hear their music at restaurants.

Certainly true

Vanilla Ice on the bass man

Underrated though, which is sad.
