I’ve always had a tiny crossbite, but it got worse when my wisdom teeth came in. Now I’m just super self conscious about it 😅 can’t wait till I can afford to get it fixed

my crossbiteis so severe that my ortho called me little mrs cross-bite and when they put the metal thing in the top of my mouth i got the biggest gap they have ever seen

Ya its called plate... Huh it hurts so much! I have removed it after keeping for 1 and a half years and my crossbite was getting better but now its worse. I need to get braces soon!

It’s normal it’s called an expander and a lot of people get it

Just a reminder for everyone. Your tongue is a natural pallet expander.

Which is why it's critical that kids and young teens close their mouths when sleeping and keep their tongue in the upper palate. I have a posterior crossbite (narrow upper palate) and wouldn't want this on anyone.

Ad ding don’t worry i had a cross bite and i was supposed to get my braces off on the 5th of june but corona stopped it, there is nothing to be afraid of and depending on your teeth they will be off soon I have had my braces for a year and a few months and they are ready to come off! i hope this helps, good luck :)

I got crossbite in front but i am afraid i am too late i am almost 17 but i always grow much faster than other kids and my bones are way heavier than normal kids

You can still try, people don't usually stop growing until 25. But I've heard of people even 30+ getting it fixed this way. I'm 28 and I'll be getting my expander next month, two months into having braces. Everything's working so far.

also the plate at the top of your mouth makes it very hard for you to swallow your spit and eat and you will randomly get the urge to pull it out of your mouth. oh and you get a 1/2 of a cm gap inbetween your front teeth

Can I ask what if a patient had wide maxillary but smaller mandible but having a crossbite, how do u fix it? Do u still need expansion for the mandible?
