First time in my whole life Ive ever enjoyed gospel music and it happens after I stop going to church. And its from a violent, death cult...
You know, I was thinking the same thing. I just got out of being an active Christian my whole life, and I found myself loving this. Really gets you thinking..
Your eyes are awaken now.
This is what I learned from people who is a cult expert, they use medias that makes u feels good, than suddenly you didn't realize when they told you to do bad things, because it is for a good cause.
Music can be a beautiful thing. You find this out quickly when you refuse to limit what music you listen to by its origins.
There are a couple of different reasons I could guess at for this:
1. Producers of actual religious music tend to choose the genre for reasons of faith first. Sometimes it takes a well-funded media project like a game or movie to draw higher-caliber creative talents to a particular genre. There was a time in history where faith had a very profound driving influence in the fine arts, but in today's world... money speaks louder than even God. (As a side note, it's interesting to think about whether that shift in motive even matters in the end, which I guess is in some respects related to the question of 'does video game music deserve to be held in the same regard as other forms of music?' or even 'are games art?', but that's its own discussion.)
2. Christianity itself has diminished somewhat in influence in the West over the course of recent history, and a lot of ideological ground has been ceded to popular notions of tolerance (specifically, tolerance of sinful behavior), gray morality ("there is no good or evil, only different opinions"), instant gratification, low expectations, etc. in order to remain relevant in a world of increasingly liberal values and increasingly short attention spans. There's a certain Milquetoast-y quality to modern Christianity, that's often been cited in speculation as to why people born and raised in the West, surrounded by post-enlightenment values and steeped in Christian tradition, might find themselves drawn into radical Islam despite lacking any inherited cultural ties to it. A lot of people still want something to genuinely believe in and dedicate their lives to, and in trying to appeal to as many people as possible, modern Christianity has sacrificed a lot of what draws people so deeply into religion in the first place. Oddly enough, the beliefs of a violent, fanatical doomsday cult may be exactly the sort of thing needed to inject fresh creative energy into what has in some ways become a very bland, palatable, modernized faith.
I like how each Seed member has a song.
Even Bliss has its own song.
I personnaly wanna try it !!
I feel like it's faith encouraging people to take bliss. She can shield them from the troubles of life if they come with her.

It is ironic how a psychedelic death cult in a video game is starting to make sense with all the passing days.

@The King in Yellow you're missing out man it's not your normal Perry Mason clone. The following seasons are garbage in comparison but the first season is a masterpiece. Each season follows different people and stories. Its rife with lovecraftian themes and tone.

@@joeloliver2279 no dont listen to these non believers the people who produce these songs are but a simple people who said listened when Joseph spread the power of one simple but powerful word
I'm not religious, but I like Gospel Songs. I've never expected that Kind of Music in a game like Far Cry, but I almost fell in love with the Songs. That's just another reason to Play the game. Well done, Ubisoft!
Same here. Religious songs and Gospel Choirs especially have a sense of depth and pleading to them that just hit your emotions regardless of personal belief. I'm very happy the way Ubisoft handled the sound direction for this game.
Grew up in the church (still Christian by faith but don't attend regularly to church now) but the songs from this game brought back so much nostalgia and I love it for that. This is some of the best original songs for a game and I'm a huge LoZ gal. Loved the game and the soundtrack was one of few reasons why.

You ain't wrong. Sort of the point though. Puts a patina of respectability on a murderous, thieving, torturing band of zealots to lure in the gullible. That aside this is a gorgeous soundtrack. :)
Yeah, you missed the point
the fact is that THEY have miss the point.
pretty hard to go past lyrics talking about bad guys coming for your kids now that weimar globalists are literally coming for our kids.
Joseph Seed is Trump, Jacob Seed is Don Jr, Faith Seed is Ivanka, John Seed is Eric Trump, the Peggie cult is the Trump base, and the resistance are Democrats.
This game's soundtrack is absolutely amazing, and I'm not only talking about all the cult stations in the 3 areas, and all the main radio stations also. I wasn't expecting much originally, just another "Far Cry" game, but I was wrong, the whole game production exceeded my expections. The story, atmosphere, music, and even the psychology. 9/10.
This will be a Far Cry 3 style classic. In 10 years on PS5 or maybe PS6, we'll have Far Cry 5 Classic Remastered. They have never gone this in-depth for a Far Cry game before, I mean, getting a tonne of worship songs recorded? It's a whole new level.
Unfortunately farcry 5 isn’t being accepted in the same way farcry 3 was, it’s really sad because I believe this game is a real contender for best title in the series
Most young people don't dig into complex themes. If you really immerse yourself and start reading things on the wall, start talking to people that are not quest givers, really just look around, and listen to these - it's amazing. I thought it was some generic Christian radio station until I didn't kill the radio one time, and heard some names like Bliss and Joseph.. then I was like.. wait a sec. then listened to the entire ending credit roll and listened to these videos twice :) The Faith stuff was super powerful for me.
@roastmemes It is sad, I too think it's definitely one of the best in the series. As Steve said - Most people don't dig into complex themes, they just care about the action and killing and don't immerse themselves, so most of it just goes disregarded.
@Steve Shelby Yeah, I first though that it was just random worship songs they found, because that's what they usually do with Far Cry radio music, like with FC4 they got Himalayan music which I'm pretty sure were licensed songs. But this time they actually recorded their own music.
I agree with the Faith stuff being powerful, when I was up to that area I felt Faith sucking me in as a player. Thinking "Hope I don't have to kill her, I don't wanna kill her". xD
And a nice touch having unique soundtracks for each area. Like, this soundtrack for John's area, and Faith's sounding more spiritual, which matches the antagonists themselves.
So true!
I wouldn't be too sad. Apparently this is the fastest selling Far Cry game of all time, it more than doubled first week sales compared to Far Cry 4, which sold more than Far Cry 3 anyway.
Ubisoft may have shit execs but people don't give the dev team and designers enough credit for this. They really do their homework on these games and it shines through. Project Eden's Gate is based in AMERICAN culture, just as the Ryakat/ink-demons were Polynesian, and the Shrangri-La/rakasha were Himalayan.
It really comes through between the ambience and visuals. Each branch of the cult brings it's own actual charisma and the sort of magnetism real world cults have to the table. Even if it's not perfect, it is a game afterall. That charisma comes through strongest in their music.
Faith, John, and Jacob, are each based on cults from the 70s, 80s-90s and 00-10s. With Joseph being based on trends from 2010 onward.
Their music reflects that.
There's a reason people at Jonestown drank the koolaid, a reason the Manson Family cheerfully murdered people, a reason WJFC's members trafficked kids, and a reason doomsday cults always seem to be recruiting when the world never ends.
Eden's gate gives off that same charisma.
Cultists aren't mindless slaves of "Chaos" or insane lunatics worshiping many-tentacled Cthulhu. They're broken people in a broken world, taken advantage of by charismatic leaders and intoxicating beliefs.
We have met the enemy, he is us gone mad, and if we look too closely. We may recognize ourselves in his madness.
Beautifully written!

Sentimentality for someone didn't inherently justify risking creating a child, which would then have to worry about ever feeling normal, accepted, or loved, by parents who didn't care enough to go about the proper steps, and stay together.
Hurk, however, was known to attend backstage orgies by rock stars, as he explains in Lost on Mars. Also, the no alcohol thing. A beer guzzler would definitely not have any patience for that.
Avoiding premarital sex is already a strain in real life. But for me, the biggest turn-offs of Eden's Gate are theological technicalities. They take religious sounding words, and twist them. Nothing means what a traditional confessionalist denomination native would expect it to mean.

There's no reason why a "Great Collapse" would ever happen in America. Its far more likely that it will be a managed decline. Things will just continue to get worse and worse, forever, until 50 years from now, we look more like Venezuela or Brazil, than the United States, at least in terms of culture or social cohesion.
You don't need a Collapse to end up like Venezuela, you just need people to continue letting things get worse indefinitely.
I wish we could say the game predicted anything. Religious and spiritual texts from literally hundreds of religions and ideologies across the world have described the events of the last century damn near EXACTLY. This game is just a messenger.
That "Keep Your Rifle by Your Side" is the song of the bad guys, and that they disabled the comments' on the track's video, tells you everything you need to know about Ubisoft
yeah im listening it on repeat now and reading the comments here :D
When the mockery of the sinners creates a song that actually worships the Lord. GOD still wins.
You poor, poor misguided fool. You'll never enter the Garden. You'll never know Bliss.
@@NaomeK40 You know nothing.
@@basilgaizka4672 FILTHY SINNER !

"We Will Rise Again" is ridiculously good. When the world falls into the flames - we will rise again.
A masterpiece. Makes me emotionnal everytime, so beautiful.
Tried to make Religious people the bad guys
Ended up being one of the most Based Far Cry games of all time
"Set those sinners free" slaps so hard never loved a gospel track so much.
There should have been an ending for Farcry 5 where you join the cult or take over the cult
Did you play new dawn?
@@nicholasmatyi993 I have played it but I need to finish it
The first song is damn good

Aladin all the song... for me the last song (we will rise again) is the best
My favourites are Oh The Bliss and Set Those Sinners Free but all of them are damn good, who knew insane death cults makes some of the best music?
every single one of them is great
Help me faith is beautiful
Praise the father
Yes, Pucci deserves more praises
I can sing them all by heart. Soon enough I'll be able to play them on guitar
Nothing changed my opinion on this game quite like when I heard a dying cultist crying how she just wanted to be saved.
I dunno, after that I started paying more attention and suddenly, just, oh lord. There was love and passion put into this one that few people will acknowledge.
i grew up on farcry 5, and the song now that this old world is ending always brings back memories
Build a Castle, Oh the Bliss, Set Those Sinners Free, and The World is Gonna End Tonight are so perfect! Hell, all of them are fucking wonderful!
The dislikes came from the National Guard soldiers that never arrived to Hope County
Leftist sackless spineless cretins! Filthy sinners!
@@LawrenceCaldwellAuthor Cry more. If the right was so good, why was trump never able to pass any laws despite having control of the senate, house of reps, the white house (obv) AND gaining two additional seats in the supreme court? If he never even needed the dems to vote (because he held majority in all sections of government) why was he never able to do anything and why did they always blame the dems for their shortcomings despite having a majority?
It must be hard to use your braincells every so often, huh?
@@WimsicleStranger How much enjoyment do you get from smacking down every good word you see?
