Benny Hill was and is a comedy genius. I laughed at this when I was 16 , I laugh at this now I am 53.
Me too. Must say though, he's looking a lot younger these days 😉

Yes I do. and you can now leave and take your broomstick with you.
Benny Hill was a comedy genius. Freakin hilarious skit!
In 70s 80s benny was the entertainment for UK people and absolutely top quality cheers benny miss you tons ! Xx ❤ xx
I grew up with Benny Hill. My sister and I used to watch it faithfully when we were kids. Laughter was non stop and I got most of my jokes from him. 🤣
This is the best of Benny Hill. He is much loved and missed by his fans xx
Humour that survives the test of time and appears funny to different nations to the young and the old is an amazing thing. I hope that it’s never forgotten-RIP Benny Hill ❤
Benny Hill was a genius - he was banned in UK and it broke his heart. I live in France and he is still loved over here. Please more Benny Hill.
After the BBC fired him, Benny Hill got invited by Charlie Chaplins family to come stay with them. When he when there he saw a wall of every Benny Hill Show VHS in Charlie's office. "my father was your biggest fan" his daughter said. Benny broke down in tears.
It was more that alternative comedy came along and killed these sort of comedies.
@@punchfisttop It was Thames Television that sacked him.
@@davesy6969 thanks for the correction. anything else I got wrong?
@@softshallow7435 Yes the unfunny stuff full of swearing and just rude.
If ever there was a comedy genius it was the great Benny Hill. He was hands down the best in the business who is sourly missed. Thank you Benny.
I grew up watching Benny Hill and Kenney Everett. My mum wouldn't let me watch it but when I stayed round my Gran's she let me. God Bless Grandmas!
Your grandma was secretly teaching you how to enjoy GOOD quality humour. She probably knew it would all turn to shit in the future.
I don't know what made me smile more, seeing Benny Hill again or your infectious laugh. BRILLIANT!👍😃
I was a kid when this was produced. Benny was the man and still is! RIP Mr. Hill.
I agree. Benny IS a true comedic genius, I haven't found anyone that could take his title in that type of comedy!!! I miss him, and his Angels!!! I hope to meet him on the other side, and watch all his stuff that he's been making all this time!!!!!
He was a brilliant comedic mind… sketches like that chucking the milk everywhere, were completely unscripted, so the actors themselves would give that priceless unexpected reaction… they really weren’t expecting what might come next from the guy… genius…!
The Benny Hill show was one of my favorite shows to watch as a teenager in high school. It would only be televised on PBS television and would only come on at 11:30 p.m. right after Mr. Bean. I remember finishing homework and then staying up to watch Benny Hill and being tired the next morning for school. He had some of the most hilarious comedy skits.
I had the pleasure of seeing these shows when aired in the 70's, it's great that we can still see them via u tube. British humor has its very own lilt.
The girl's mother is Kathy Staff, she played Nora Batty for years in 'Last of the Summer Wine'. That's another show that I think you would enjoy.
And Mrs Blewitt in Open All Hours..
If he started that from the very beginning it would be a hell of a task. There are 295 episodes, if he watched/reacted to it at a rate of one episode a week it would take him over 5 and a half years to get through them all.
I knew I recognised her
She did 7 years in Crossroads as Doris Luke.
I doubt very much he would like last of the summer wine it's too middle of the road and nothing like benny hill only fools and horses would be much better or a show like coupling
Benny Hill was greatly appreciated by American fans.
Benny Hill is a British gem that sadly never gets shown on tv anymore, I have so many memories crying with laughter watching the Benny Hill show, political correctness has ruined everything.
Those Benny Hill programs have recently been shown on UK TV, much to many people's amazement.
As for these shows, totally bonkers!
The Series was on 'That's TV Gold' (UK) last Christmas
The little bald dude getting patted on the head was priceless!
It's still on occasionally. I saw it a few days ago on one of the sub-stations run by the network affiliates. It was on fairly late.
I used to like it when I was a dumb kid. But his lame sexual innuendos and leering skits just get boring. His humor is so predictable and shallow. Maybe thats why. It's old. Old and tiring.
Benny Hill was a household name. He was on TV 📺 Regularly for years. 🤣
Benny Hill for me was easily the funniest growing up in the 70's with Kenny Everett not far behind, He was even great as Professor Peach in the Italian Job.
The Toymaker in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
I always found it funny that in Australia, Kenny Everett was almost kids programming, usually between The Goodies and Doctor Who, before the 7pm news.
@@stuartspencer2161 The Goodies now that take me back, So much better than todays rubbish they show.
@@northernvoice7288
The PC Morons and PC Wnker's have completely destroyed British comedy.
Nowadays all we have is sh.yt and Woke trash to amuse us.
Sid Snot eer. yeah, Kenny was awesome, all done in the best possible taste.
One of the best comedians of all times.
I grew up watching Benny Hill and in the late 70's I went to live in California and one station started showing old reruns late at night. Almost no one had heard of Benny Hill in America but I remember people being totally blown away by it and it soon had a cult following. He pushes everything to the edge and was a master of suggestion. He had to get his work past the censors and there was a vocal puritan crowd always in the press in those day calling for censorship and attacking his work. So glad you discovered him.
He will bring you much joy as the decades roll by and you suddenly see it again.
I watched Benny hill as a teenager, now 63. He’s still funny..
Thanks for that! Benny Hill was the MAN!!! I used to watch him all the time. Raw humor at it's best...
Pure British humour at its best he was a legend, yet he lived his life in solitary but once he got behind the camera he was a whole different person, rest in peace Benny
My dad loves Benny Hill used to be in stitches when it came on....takes me back😂😂😂❤
I grew up with kind of comedy. So sad that this level of comedy doesn't exist anymore.
I used to love watching Benny Hill Show on tv every week in the 1970s when I was a teenager.Still hilarious now!.
Having grown up watching this person on my TV most Saturday nights, to hear you laugh so much, made me chuckle too. Loved it.
Benny Hill lived round the corner from me when I was a student, but by then he was a recluse. He actually was a milkman previously and there is a street named after him in Eastleigh, Southampton where he did his round.
I remember watching the show as a kid and even my parents were balling laughing. They don't make great shows like this anymore! 📺
A brilliant comedy sketch.and made even funnier by your reactions, which had me in stitches.........Benny Hill was my all-time favourite, how could anyone NOT find him funny? He made being funny look so effortless and easy......
Michael...yes his facial expressions were priceless..they added so much to the sketch..
I needed a good laugh and this was it! When I was a kid in the 1970s, my grandma and I used to watch the Benny Hill show together. Great memories!!!
PS Benny Hill wrote EVERYTHING himself. And I agree...why cant we have shows like this anymore?
Woke :(
Really, Why can’t we have it? Because anyone who want this kind of humor back would be called outsiders, ( and that is a very soft describing ) loosing your job, because you call somebody an ignorant mother fucker because he took your own tools and not even works with it it’s the perfect explaining for it! But there are softer things people loose their jobs. Grabbing them by their p……s it’s even more softer.
yeah, the cancel culture mob took all the fun out of comedy.
15 million people regularly watched the benny hill show, a couple of snowflakes complain and he gets cancelled and replaced with twats like ben elton and jo brand?
@@paolobacardi Right wing extremism read up Mary Whitehouse and right wing cancel culture, definitely Not Woke, ffs I'm woke.
I can remember my mum and dad laughing like crazy when Benny Hill was on …The good old days ❤
I loved this dude back in the day
I used to always get in trouble with my mom for watching The Benny Hill show
Benny was always single, he was quite a nervous man in private, he would go on coach tours and write his comedy as he observed the world passing by. As you say, a comedic genius.
He did have
Women by he proposed o w/o women and they rejected h!
Their loss
He was one of a kind. Will never be another like him. Surely missed.
"why cant we have shows like this anymore?" Because we are stupid. And that is the kindest word I can come up with. And this was Benny at the end.
I used to watch Benny with my parents when I grew up as a teen in the 70's. We all thought it hilarious. And this is from the US.
I was lucky enough to have the local FOX network in South Florida play reruns of Benny Hill, Dave Allen, and Paul Hogan shows at 11pm while the news was on the rest of network TV back in the '80's.
Benny, and all the cast were great, and the innuendo comedy routines were 1st class.
People thought he was a bit saucy but he was hilarious. Listen to his song The Fastest Milkman in the West.
Holy crap. I just fell off the chair. Hilarious!! I'm so glad I stumbled on this just now. Thank you for sharing that laugh with us.
Loved the Benny Hill show 👍
This feels like the blueprint for Married With Children
Benny Hill was brilliant, everyone I knew watched Benny Hill back in the day . I remember this sketch so I knew what was coming, and your reaction to thitwas as expected. You will love Benny Hill.
I wish the cake was a big slab of steak with a hot potato with sour cream and chives and a slice of pumpkin pie with whip cream on top. Now that's a feast to get excited about! :D
This is the sort of British humour which is sorely missed.
Not by me. This is deadly 😄
Missed by who ? The pervy uncles and dads you shouldn't trust around your kids . You may enjoy this humour but it's it belongs with the dinosaurs......probably like yourself ( mate)
Cringe worthy

Benny Hill dedicated his life to making people laugh and smile. What a great man he was.
There’s something intriguing about watching an American react to a Britain pretending to be American in a parody of American comedy. It’s like going full circle.
Comedic inception of sorts.
When this was broadcast in the day; At school we used to joke our dads watched with a cushion on their lap 😂😂😆
Benny was the best.
He was in the original Italian job film.
Comedy gold
Benny Hill a pure genius. My dad let me stay up as a kid to watch his show itv 8.30. Sorely missed.
Benny hill was a comedy genius, extremely clever and I can really mean it when he was born they broke the mold. I had the pleasure to be watched this stuff as a child. Thank God 💜👍
Dude, your laugh had me cracking up faster than the sitcom.😁 This was the ultimate 'bait & switch' skit.😉 I think "Married With Children" from the 90's was the last of this type of comedy.
The laugh was annoying.
Married with children was excellent, like Benny hill it hasn't dated.
Benny Hill was an absolute genius. What made him so unique was he was the first generation of people on TV who were actually brought up on Television.
Benny Hill was banned ( or avoided for years ) in the UK 🇬🇧 ...he was brilliant and now the shows are being repeated 👍🏻 ..ludicrous when you think what is on tv and films today ....such a sad passing though 😢
Just Ingenious 🙏🏻🤣
A comic genius in a time when comedy was actually funny. Sadly missed! 😥
Me and my brother loved this show.
Benny Hill was an icon - I used to love this when I was younger - not always for the comedy I might add! He did so much, well worth checking more of him out.
Totally agree, Benny in a vest was quite the guy! 🌈😂
@@Handlebar-MustDash He could pull off any look!
Watch the dancing sketch showing 'Carmen'
Absolutely Fantabulous.
English humour at its best. He was a Comedy Genius
Benny Hill really was a comedy genius for his time, but his energy shown on camera, which led to such a successful career, was just a ‘persona’ - in real life he lived a very modest & frugal life, struggled to maintain a relationship, and passed away, alone, and in a non-descript flat (apartment). He had stacks of cash (that ultimately went to his nephews & nieces, as he had no children) but the money didn’t buy him happiness…
Funny guy, tragic backstory…
He was happy enough in his own way. Just watch docs. about his life.
he was of all time
He also only ever asked one Woman to marry him, but he did it in such a way as she did not know if he was serious or not. I forget her name now but she has appeared in one of the documentaries about him. He was ready with a joke in case she said no.
I don't think it was Sue Upton but he did spend a lot of time with her and her family and also Louise English too.
Look up the interview by her [English] when he came to the opening night of one of her plays. She says herself "he [Benny] came backstage afterwards and it was like he did not want to leave", very prophetic as not long afterwards, Dennis Kirkland, his producer found him dead.
True died in Brighton
he made people laugh - not a bad legaacy
I think I'm laughing just as much hearing Mr. Beard laugh as I am with Benny.
I agree genius is way over used, but not in the case of Benny Hill, he was a one off, a true pioneer.
I used to cry with laughter watching this man, he appears in many films and TV shows as a guest and even had a hit a hit single with Ernie the fastest milkman in the West.
That was a brilliant song, absolutely brilliant…
Best example of slapstick comedy!
Ah, the great and brilliant Benny Hill. How I remember laughing myself to almost peeing watching him on TV. Your reactions are brilliant.
One of the bawdiest comedians of his time, but the epitome of a gentleman in real life. He never married, lived by himself (although some say his housekeeper was live in but platonic), and denied persistent rumours of being gay. It is said, when he died, he left his considerable fortune to his housekeeper, a lady who had worked faithfully for him for years.
You are right, nobody has done it as well since.
Benny was, and still is, my hero. As political correctness crept in, he gave it the finger and stuck to his brand of light hearted sexism, xenophobia and saucy innuendo, which made him even funnier. His facial expressions are priceless. I even have his signature tune as my ringtone!
It wasn't sexist! or PC
Brigade, it was cancel culture
I used to watch Benny Hill as a child and jokes would go straight over my head watching it now I love it I'm going to go find some episodes.
One of the best jokes ever was one Benny told.
A man was sick with the flu, but his wife had to go on a business meeting out of town. They agreed they stay in contact in case his condition worsened.
This is where a typo in a message can ruin a marriage. When she got to her business meeting and hotel, she texted him, "How are you feeling, dear?" He meant to type, "I'm not getting any better. Come home." But what he actually typed was, "I'm not getting any. Better come home".
😂😂😂, Thanks Electic Beard, This show is a classic. I've always loved watching Benny Hill every night.
One part of the Benny Hill Show that is often forgotten are the comedic songs he used to perform. The most famous of these was "Ernie, the Fastest Milkman in the West" but there were several others including "In the Garden of Love". They were cleverly written and compared well with the Two Ronnies who were well known for their comedy song routines.
I still have some Benny Hill Recordings on Vinyl. I think he recorded for Pye at one stage a song called "Transistor Radio". The other one he did was called "My Garden Of Love"

It was fun seeing somebody enjoying sketches like this for the first time. You have a great laugh! I’m 44 and I’ve been a fan of Benny Hill since my dad let me watch him when I was 5 years old.
Benny Hill was part of our staple diet in the late 70’s and into 80’s in Britain. It died out when alternative comedy came along. No one wanted to watch Benny hill anymore thinking it was too old school and sexist. Then he passed away in early 1990’s. I loved it and still do. That’s the famous actress Kathy staff the other wife near the end. Great British actress.
Kathy seems to have been destined to play Repulsive women.
Brave woman.
As a 50 year old this was funny as heck as a kid. And I didn't even understand some of it at the time. But now the inside jokes hit me like a ton of bricks.
We need Benny Hill back on the tv, comedy at its very best! No comedy on tv now, so its watching old videos like this for a laugh!
Yeah. I think we should dig him up .
Nearly ALL the comedy shows on TV these days are repeats from the seventies and eighties , the PC Morons and woke-misfits have destroyed everything.
You bring a smile to my face..! I was a much younger teen, when I found Benny.. It brings me pleasure to see a newer generation enjoying the same British humor..
Amazingly this sketch even had a happy ending. :>)
Dude you seriously have me cracking up, I use to watch this growing up...priceless! Lmao!!!
I remember when I was kid, there was many British comedy shows in tv here in Finland, i think maybe most of them. Good old days.
Loved this. I used to relish the days, sitting with dad and watching these Benny Hill shows, slapping back a couple Budweiser‘s laughing our asses off!
Right now comedy is in a dark hole. There are so many woke ignorant people that can’t take a joke! More people would laugh the better they would be
Benny Hill was a top notch exponent of what was called, 'saucy comedy.' Nothing vulgar or crass, but a little bit naughty and/or suggestive. Enough for the adults watching to get the gist of what was being eluded to, but not enough for any kids watching to want to start asking questions! The visual element was enough for them to find it funny. He was top billing on ITV throughout the 70's and 80's, until the PC sensibilities crowd came along and basically kicked him out for being, 'sexist.' Something that affected him greatly and ultimately led to his demise.
I like this particular sketch as the expected outcome changes a lot. He thinks he's going to get off with a young attractive woman, then discovers she's the daughter, then when the other wife comes in he's mortified only to find out she caters to his other, 'needs', (beer and delicious food), and everyone ends up happy.
Have fond memories of his show as a child, in this day and age though he would be cancelled.
Thank you so much for that. I'm UK and grew up watching Benny Hill but I've never seen that before. The actress who plays the neighbour's wife is the late Kathy Staff. She is more famous for playing Norah Batty in The Last of the Summer Wine where she plays a severe, no nonsense older lady. Compo, a male neighbour, is attracted to her and her 'wrinkly stockings' but Norah just chases him with her long sweeping brush which just makes him fancy her more
She was also in 'Open all hours', which he sometimes reacts to.
YES SIMPLY THE BEST! SUOER HUMOUR!! FANTASTIC 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I grew up watching The Benny Hill Show and he is a comedy legend and a master of facial expressions. He fell victim to the snowflakes when he got fired by ITV regional production channel Thames TV.
The feminists and PC Morons destroyed Benny and most of British comedy since,
The feminists assured his decline...
I remember watching The Benny Hill Show late at night in syndication here in America. I was in high school at the time. Late 70's to early 80's. I told my Mother about the show and she loved it too so we'd stay up late watching it together. My step father was stuck up and hardly ever laughed. He'd hear us laughing so he'd get out of bed to complain and gripe. My Mom would tell him to shut up and go back to bed. LOL I also remember all of us guys talking about the show at school the next day. Those were great times. I was lucky to have a Mother with an open mind. Some parents thought the show was dirty and banned there kids from watching it. Later on I told my real Father about the show and he watched it religiously from then on to. This upload of yours was one of my many favorite skits from the show. I really enjoyed watching it here again.
I watched this as a child, totally understanding , and understanding nothing, if that makes any sense. Looking back, there was a crazy innocence , all innuendo and so clever dialogue.Everybody understood it, on their own terms. Comedy genius. Check out "Ernie, the fast milkman" and you'll see. Oops -- you already did !
Hi guys I'm an Australian guy I was a ten year old in 1973 with English parents we watched every comedy that came out of the UK Benny Hill was a family favourite, but because sometimes it was a bit raunchy we were sent to bed early ,but I would pretend to be asleep on the sofa with one eye open, fun days indeed,
The wife was a character called Norah Batty from another UK comedy show.
Last of the summer wine
Kathy Staff, another comedy legend
You bring back fond funny memories, I loved the Benny Hill Show and never missed an episode! Thanks for posting this, I think I laughed harder than you did.
Listen to the words in the skits when Benny sings, it can be hard to understand and keep up but if you can get all the words, they’re hilarious. The one eyed cat, wasn’t walking in the door, he was walking out! Just an example
Love you sense of humor!
Because you laugh alone with the video, you make it funnier and I think I laughed louder than you did, excellent job Mr. Eclectic Beard, I am down with the flu and you made my day. Best medicine ever!!!
One thing I've noticed is that it's very difficult to make really great comedy, like this. That's why Benny Hill was such a genius - this is, on it's face, "low-brow" comedy. But to make it so hilarious takes a very particular eye for what will spark a laugh.
"He's wanting to swap the ditch, for the pole. " lmfao
I used to watch Benny Hill every day back in the 80's. Most of what he did would never go over now days. It was a great loss to comedy when he passed.
Now that is exactly what was needed to make my day! Thank you. I used to watch Benny Hill a lot. But never saw that episode.
Benny Hill fue una bestia del humor inteligente. De niño no paraba de reírme con sus sketch y sus parodias... Un genio del humor de ayer y hoy. Saludos desde España 🇪🇦

Too often reduced to some chase music, great to see a man who had me roaring as a kid make an appearance on the channel. So much of the recent stuff has been from that era when we were still able to just have fun with it...
