2. Photograph and signature - checklist says original and digital - what does this mean, please elaborate...do we sign on reverse side of photo?
3. After we complete payment to vfs we get an email with attached pdf of renunciation certificate. Can we sign and send 2 of this as original docs to vfs?
3. Can we use paper clip to secure all the docs or just send them loose in the envelop?

Hi , you need to paste one photo to govt document (surrender certificate) and one put it in the envelope right? Or put 2 photos in the envelope and another paste into application? Total 3 photos needed?

Ironically, this process is still slightly different (from VFS) depending on where you have acquired your naturalization or citizenship i.e. for Australia it has a different checklist and process which took me over 2 days to figure out. The worse part of this is, I had submitted my application by post but it came back as 'Rejected' just because Indian Government had decided to change the process once AGAIN, which poor Google search algorithm couldn't figure out and the forms I sent happened to be outdated (not to mention I had to perform further research and it still cost me $50 in this process). Good luck everyone, this application couldn't be any more complicated that this!

Yes, it's a nightmare. You would think Renunciation process would be easier than actually applying for a Passport.

Hi Thanks for the video very helpful. Do you know how to make penalty payments to VFS while applying? I received foreign citizenship in 2015 and still have my Indian passport but didn't travel using it and the indian passport is still valid. So do I need to pay any penalty??

Hello Mam, what if someone doesn't have the record of Indian cancelled passport. Because naturalization in USA was done in 1978. And application doesn't remember where the passport is.

I have a quick question, when filling out the renunciation certificate online, not all the information is displayed. Essentially what i mean is for certain columns in the form, for example like address : it can only hold so much information. After entering the information and when i try to print it out, the information is kind of cut off. Is it normal, is it acceptable? Do i need to use any specific software to fill out the form? Can i print it out and fill it by hand?

Actually there were some missing documents which I forgot to send along with my application and I was not able to understand what exactly what VFS is asking me, after that I saw this video and able to figure it out how to get the "Government Application form" Thank you again.
I could find where the Digital Photo & Digital Signature is required in the Renunciation process. Is it just a mistake in the CheckList form ?

and in second line they
asking
Actual original signed passport
and third line they asking photocopy of first three pages of the passport and the last two pages of the passport.
Should I send recent Indian passport with the first three and last two pages photocopy. Please guide me .thanks

My mother is British Protected person passport holder. I applied for her British Citizenship but they want a letter from Indian authorities that she is not and never was a citizen of india nor an oci holder and has never applied for it. I applied for it at high commission of India fro Tanzania but they said they are not allowed to issue such a letter according to citizenship act 1955. What should I do now ?

Hello, I am doing my mom's Indian passport renunciation procedure. And one of the question is asking "Do you have Minor Children, who are/were Citizens of India?". So my brother he is a minor born in India, but is a US Citizen, so I need to enter his information. It is asking his general information like DOB etc, and then it is asking country and address.
