I wish some of the brands like Max Factor, Coty, etc., would bring back some of their products in vintage packaging. It brings back such good memories!
I love this channel, it's so fascinating. I can't believe how many of those cosmetics are still available today. I love the old Hollywood actresses; their beauty is timeless.
Trust me, that's a reformulated version. THE real original formula, has been done away with. Such a shame, too. The Real one, was exquisite and classy. White Shoulders is so gross now, could be sold at a dollar type store! Was in the beauty biz, as well as my parents- being a lot older helps too because I can see the difference from the old version-
My mother very seldom wore perfume but when she did she wore white shoulders perfume. My mother was a beautiful classy looking woman and white shoulders perfume suited her.To this day I still remember how the original white shoulders perfume smelled.I heard that it's been reformulated and is unrecognizable from the heavenly scent it once was.
@@kittiesfortrump1070 I have the old version as well as the new one, they are only slightly different. They both retain the sweet lilac type scent and both lasted the same amount of time on my skin. The new version currently made, though slightly different, is very lovely and still faithful to the original formula. Chanel No. 5 however - now THAT'S a fragrance that was absolutely butchered and destroyed by reformulations.
@@co9819 they smell different at first, but they both smell like lilacs, just different takes on lilacs - and they smell more similar after they dry down.
Hello there Laura Jane Atelier thank you again for another Beautiful prestigious vintage video Lucille ball she was a fantastic comedian star The i love Lucy show are iconic ❤️❤️❤️❤️💞💕❣️💓💖
Lucy is a Leo like me! I love her she was 40 when she started doing I love Lucy she had impeccable skin I was wonder what beauty products she used I’m happy I came across this
Laura Jane Atelier I graduated last night and now to see this, such a grand gift. ❤️ I catch myself saying, “I quite like it.” 🙂 You’re wearing off on me. 🌸💗
Love your channel Laura! Thank you for doing Lucille Ball. I believe Lux soap was one of the sponsors for her radio show “My favourite Husband” that then became “I Love Lucy.” My grandma use to have White Shoulders powder in her bathroom! Can you do Doris Day or Tallulah Bankhead? Her connection to the Dunsmuir family is very interesting! 😊
Laura.. love your channel..what is that amazing music you play in the background during your videos. It is so haunting. It conjures up an emotional old movie feeling. Thanks from a fellow Canadian... Maureen
I happened to receive one of those small spray testers recently of Chanel N 5 from my sister. It was the first time me experiencing it & I really do love it. It is indeed a very classy/classic scent & wears powdery on my skin. It's both light n feminine but pronounced at the same time. It's very unique. Eventually I would like to save up & buy my own full ounce bottle. It's that great.
💋Your the Best sweetie! Loving everything video. Looking forward to who you do next. Love your eye makeup btw. Brigitte Bardo video was great too. Continued support and blessings. ~Love & Light 💖Carli
Lucille Ball was my favorite Old Hollywood Glamour girl. Very nice ! I got the Florida Water and White Shoulder in my collection too because I found out she liked them.
My grandmother always and only used White Shoulders and the cake mascara. The one she used was in a red sliding container. It gave great coverage. I'd buy it now if I saw it somewhere. She was born in the late 1800's.
Your videos are so beautifully done. I would love to see one about Yardley products, then and now. Thank you for an enjoyable, informative and uniquely crafted channel.
I wondered if I could throw into your hat of tricks a couple of new names. Maybe you could do a segment on Rita Hayworth, or Elizabeth Montgomery from Bewitched? Those are just two of my favorites. I adore your channel and usually watch you before bed, or when I'm waking up with a cuppa. Keep up the great work! Thank you.
My grandmother only wore White Shoulders. I remember another from Evyan called Most Precious which was lovely too. I wore it sometimes in college. Even though too old to use, I keep vintage bottles of my fondest memories; Wind Song (high school) Oil of Olay, Breck Crème Rinse, Trushay Lotion. I remember Coty Airspun face powder making my daddy tear up as the scent reminded him of his beloved mother. I still wear Evening in Paris (Soir de Paris) as my signature scent. Buy it in quantity so I never run out. Thanks for the lovely memories.
Yay Lucille Ball!💗... I think people sometimes forget she was a Beauty.. but she actually took her Career, Image, and Fashion very serious.. True Legend!
I have very bad memories of watching my aunt using maxfactor mascara. I swear she would spit in the mascara to wet it. Thank you Laura another great info on past icons.
@@kittiesfortrump1070 Oh, I know!! I even asked her if she was sure that she should do that and she said, "Oh no, it's ok, I do it when I don't have any eye drops with me!" Yuuuucccckkk!!!
Thank you for taking my request to do Lucille Ball! I thought you would also mention her use of false eyelashes and how well she took care of those fabulous nails of hers.😊
I love your videos, Laura! Lucy had beauty, talent and brains -- the whole package, an inspiration to women everywhere! On a side note, I have to admit that I do not understand the hype about Chanel No. 5 at all. I think it smells awful. Maybe the formula has changed or something, but hearing about all the celebrities who loved it, I was eager to try it but was so disappointed. Maybe it just doesn't work with my skin chemistry.
Have you thought of doing katherine Hepburn. And doing one on Jackie Kennedy. For say 1960s up Farrah fawsett.and cher. Donna mills. I am teacher and makeup artist of filmworkshop long with teaching doing wardrobe. I enjoy your video that help my students so much I went get your 50s palette I could get it. You use my favert grace Kelly. Thank you
I like previous suggestions of Diana Dors and Elizabeth Montgomery, Clara Bow, Goldie Hawn and Diana Rigg for the 60s, Dorothy L 'amour, Diahann Carroll, not asking you to do them all,(not expecting you to). Amy Johnson was fashionable too,but unsure if she had beauty routines. Sorry to ramble on, but I really like what you do. You'll be happy to know I've finished. 😁
I bought white shoulders about a month ago and I really like it. My husband even commented on it. I also bought youth dew and found out both of my parents are allergic.

Yes,I totally agree!
I wish you could get Max Factor in The US! There lipstick is sooooo good!

I know! She does such a wonderful job bringing these timeless items to us!
Can't wait for you to do a Rita Hayworth and Gene Tierney version!
I know, yes cant wait
Yes, waiting for gorgeous Gene Tirney, also-
Me too! Rita collected perfumes and some of her (and my) favorite ones were Shalimar and Arpege.
I like florida water too. In some spiritual circles it is used as a tool to repel negative energy.
Sounds like pseudoscience. Is there any hard evidence that it works for that?
Lucy is one of my all time favorites. She was so beautiful . Thanks for sharing this .
A real funny lady and a beauty. Greetings from Dublin Ireland ☘🇮🇪🧚♂️
Laura please please please do a video about Elizabeth Montgomery ☺
Yes! Lucille. Thank you for your work Laura.
