    Constructive tweak, radio shack has clear heatshrink, maybe at the point where clear taping the wires along the curve, use clear to seal up the whole thing. tape may not last and will usually yellow over time. Your project is a great idea, very nice!

    what type of reflective tape is that? every roll of reflective tape ive found doesnt have an adhesive side on the reflective side. so i used scotch tape to hold my reflective tape in place no probs yet but would like to eliminate the scotch tape to look more professional.

    .Been trying to make this thing and haveing issues. When you say reflective tape what do you mean? I cant find any tape anywhere that is reflective on the sticky side. The only thing close it ac duct tape, its silver on the nonsticky side and white on the sticky side. The only plastic wand rods I could find are not as big around as the one you use, whered you get it? not to mention they are star shaped not smooth stop sign shape. What kind of LEDs do you use? super bright?

    @Hacker53800 not an aluminum rod but an acrylic rod. i'm not sure why that package shows aluminum. no such thing as clear aluminum. for a 5mm LED the rod thickness should be something in the range of 5/16" or maybe even a bit more narrow. too narrow and the wall of the hole can become really thin and easy to accidentally drill through.

  • @Roby00976
    @Roby00976 12 лет назад

    Para calcular la resistencia tienes que ver las especificaciones de los led's,
    ejemplo 3.6V @ 20mA. si usas 2 led's tienes que sumar 3.6 + 3.6 = 6.2V ahora el voltaje del auto es de 12 a 13.8V para ir a la segura 12.7V - 6.2 = 6.5.
    6.5V dividelo entre los amperes. 6.5 / .020 = 325 ohms calcula los watts.
    6.5 x .020 = .130W 1/8 watts es .125 quiere decir que necesitas una resistencia de 325 ohms de 1/4 watts.

      @robikazz 10 лет назад +1

      Hi bro ;] So did you find out anything about the tape? I thought maybe just white tape could work for this? Or maybe even reflective side of aluminum foil? Did you do the project?

    • @ConteMontecristo
      @ConteMontecristo 10 лет назад +1

      robikas hi!
      Nothing about the tape..couldn't find anything like it in my country. but the projector light of my punto has the reflecting finish so that should not be a problem. Didn't had the time to do it just yet, but planing on doing it after the summer. (and I will try to use a round acrylic rod- bloody expensive here :( )

    • @robikazz
      @robikazz 10 лет назад +1

      Sandro Cerovac Hi. did it with round rod. It sucks without anything on back side. The whole light dissipates to wide range and couldn't be seen in daylight. Just because there is no back side tape the light reflects back to reflector and the whole reflector shines a bit. Even at night not just rings light, but they light the whole reflector and it looks not even close to angel/eagle eyes. Its a big blue blob. So if doing the rings, try to put anything on back side of the ring so that it wouldn't light reflector and would be more visible just as ring. I have photo, would be nice if I could share it somewhere there.

    • @ConteMontecristo
      @ConteMontecristo 10 лет назад +1

      so it's a no go without a reflecting tape.. thanks for the tip robikas

    • @robikazz
      @robikazz 10 лет назад +1

      Sandro Cerovac Uploaded to my google+ pictures. I'm not saying that without reflective tape it's no go, I'm just saying that with nothing blocking light in back side of angel eyes, the light dissipates to wide range and it's not concentrated to front, and also it's lighting the whole reflector so you can see in picture the reflector turns blue. One more tip, be very careful with stick you use, because my LED's were bright white 3.6V 20mamp and just because of the curtain sticks were some sort of blueish the angel eyes turned in to blue (witch I didn't want to and didn't expect to).
      I guess for the reflector blob effect, white paints in the back of the angel eyes would make it disappear.
