Constructive tweak, radio shack has clear heatshrink, maybe at the point where clear taping the wires along the curve, use clear to seal up the whole thing. tape may not last and will usually yellow over time. Your project is a great idea, very nice!
i can just see it now. the look on my wife's face when i use her oven to cook a mini-blind rod. all joking aside. this is the third time i've watched this video. it's awesome.
Excellent job! I am installing low power white LED's behind amber turn signal lenses and you gave me an idea how to make them look brighter! Very nice work! See other post for video.
I've had no problems on my black halo projectors for my chrysler 300. mine came with halo's but they were like a blueish white and i wanted red. this is a great how to video.
I am going to make LED tails, and I think these would look sick with that setup. do this with a ring of LEDs inside it, and then a line down the inside and bottom
Very cool and good idea on the mini blind rod acting like fiber optics. How did you secure them in the headlight? Epoxy or super glue? Anyhow very nice video!
what type of reflective tape is that? every roll of reflective tape ive found doesnt have an adhesive side on the reflective side. so i used scotch tape to hold my reflective tape in place no probs yet but would like to eliminate the scotch tape to look more professional.
hey ive noticed you use hexagon shaped tubing nd was wandering if this is nessesary? i bought round and have only just realised? reply would be apprecated thnks
Can a ciggartte lighter in dash be used in any way as a power source? What is used as the power source when lights are added to the outside of the vehicle? Thanks:)
hey i was wondering wat will yuh need to install this to your car. i am going to start to make some of these myself and try to put it for the parklights but im not 100% sure on how to connect them. i was wondering if yuh could make a tutorial on how to install it on yur car from oopening the headlights and acually connecting the wires up this would help a lot of us so much. but yea great video i love this tutorial keep on the good work =]
.Been trying to make this thing and haveing issues. When you say reflective tape what do you mean? I cant find any tape anywhere that is reflective on the sticky side. The only thing close it ac duct tape, its silver on the nonsticky side and white on the sticky side. The only plastic wand rods I could find are not as big around as the one you use, whered you get it? not to mention they are star shaped not smooth stop sign shape. What kind of LEDs do you use? super bright?
@Hacker53800 not an aluminum rod but an acrylic rod. i'm not sure why that package shows aluminum. no such thing as clear aluminum. for a 5mm LED the rod thickness should be something in the range of 5/16" or maybe even a bit more narrow. too narrow and the wall of the hole can become really thin and easy to accidentally drill through.
dude you're a fucking Genius. Their should be more people like you. The economy is bad and you fucking made this FROM SCRATCH WITH BY HAND. fuck it Im going to try this on my car tomorrow
You can goto Home Decor place (Sears, Wallmart, Target, Home Depot, etc.) and get mini blind replacement rods. Ask someone for help at the store. You should be able to get it without any problem.
@Hacker53800 dude its not really an aluminum replacement wand notice he says get a mini blind rod meaning a blind rod from your windows blinds the hexagonol kind but i did a lil bit more research and its the same thing as acrylic rods you can get them at ebay for various sizes and diameters hope this helps
hi there! i have these angel eyes... but they are CCFL. i know you can answer my question coz i know you are an expert on this, when it rained, some of the CCFL, failed to light then, after running the car for many KM, it will work, so how could this be? thanks!
bro you got this down nice job i just got into the LED seen im trying to do alot of stuff on my truck i really want bright led tail light do you know where i got get led that have a hi and low setting like a 3 chip but with a super high MCD
hey dude...excellent video....saw a while ago, but now I'm gonna try it....How do you connect all to energy at car??....when you try with the power supply not use resistance...just direct.... Thanks...again excellent video xD
are these in front of the glass or behind inside the lens?. $5 home made led rings. wonder oh mellower the light output would be with an 1000ohm resistor. nice. be nice if could do the highbeams in red & low beams white. in cali illegal colors are red=fire, blue=pigs, green=forest ranger
@genussalticah I got mine at home depot in the blinds section. But if they dont have them try lowe's or other places like that. But whatever you do DONT USE HOLLOW RODS. THEY MUST BE SOLID!
Hi bro ;] So did you find out anything about the tape? I thought maybe just white tape could work for this? Or maybe even reflective side of aluminum foil? Did you do the project?
robikas hi! Nothing about the tape..couldn't find anything like it in my country. but the projector light of my punto has the reflecting finish so that should not be a problem. Didn't had the time to do it just yet, but planing on doing it after the summer. (and I will try to use a round acrylic rod- bloody expensive here :( )
Sandro Cerovac Hi. did it with round rod. It sucks without anything on back side. The whole light dissipates to wide range and couldn't be seen in daylight. Just because there is no back side tape the light reflects back to reflector and the whole reflector shines a bit. Even at night not just rings light, but they light the whole reflector and it looks not even close to angel/eagle eyes. Its a big blue blob. So if doing the rings, try to put anything on back side of the ring so that it wouldn't light reflector and would be more visible just as ring. I have photo, would be nice if I could share it somewhere there.
Sandro Cerovac Uploaded to my google+ pictures. I'm not saying that without reflective tape it's no go, I'm just saying that with nothing blocking light in back side of angel eyes, the light dissipates to wide range and it's not concentrated to front, and also it's lighting the whole reflector so you can see in picture the reflector turns blue. One more tip, be very careful with stick you use, because my LED's were bright white 3.6V 20mamp and just because of the curtain sticks were some sort of blueish the angel eyes turned in to blue (witch I didn't want to and didn't expect to). I guess for the reflector blob effect, white paints in the back of the angel eyes would make it disappear.

Muy bueno el video, pero estaria bueno saber como ses llama la barra esa donde mete los leds y de cuanto es la resistencia (creo que si decia che, no me acuerdo)...si pueden el que sepa como se llama, cuenten, para saber que pedir y como pedir!

EXCELLENT, really well done AND shown! Terrific job, they look great. Many thanks for sharing.
I've had no problems on my black halo projectors for my chrysler 300. mine came with halo's but they were like a blueish white and i wanted red. this is a great how to video.
That really was a good, intelligent and orderly video. Wish everybody was as professional as you.
dude you are freaking awesome post more of these cool videos!!!!
WOW! really nice idea and good how-to video, thanks for sharing
Very nice, one of the best ive seen so far.
I am going to make LED tails, and I think these would look sick with that setup. do this with a ring of LEDs inside it, and then a line down the inside and bottom
Awesome LED project Thanks for posting.
Unbelievable!!!!!! You are a genius!! I love affordable 'hacks' like this! Thanks so much for posting this.
:)
it's only hex shaped because it's a mini-blind replacement wand. a round acrylic rod will work just as well.
dude your a freaking genius iv benn looking around for how to do this for a long time
Great !! Job Master, I will try it when I buy the acrylic rod.
i love it.please can you say where can i find this mini blind thing :D i love to try it
Could I use these as standalone tail light on a motorbike?
How strong (cmd) are the used LEDs? How strong 'can' they be?
Thank you!
Very cool and good idea on the mini blind rod acting like fiber optics. How did you secure them in the headlight? Epoxy or super glue? Anyhow very nice video!
Good presentation man. Will open some eyes for sure.......for other things too....such as trunk / boot.
what type of reflective tape is that? every roll of reflective tape ive found doesnt have an adhesive side on the reflective side. so i used scotch tape to hold my reflective tape in place no probs yet but would like to eliminate the scotch tape to look more professional.
Great DIY!!! Keep the videos coming!
Can't wait to try this on the crappy car I get for college next week. :D
This is awesome! How much would you charge to do both sets of two for my BMW 540i??? Its a 2001
Dude this is fabulous. So making red ones for my taillights on my Dodge Ram.....
Thanks! looks amazing.
how would this work with just a LED on one side? would the entire tube be bright enough?
think you did an awesome job great ingenious idea. i can t wait to do this with some modification for my Harley.
omg amazing video!!! definitely an easier mod that makes a huge difference!!! i dont even own a car and i want to make these lol
Great, detailed video. Way to set the curve for how-to videos :-)
you can get the blind rods from a blinds store, maybe a home depot or home hardware, any place with home supplies.
so how to make your car look like a bmw at nigth. nice. ricers are going to love this
What kind of wiring harness would you need to install this?
very impressive....what do you do for work i wonder..?
US Plastics has extruded acrylics rods of all diameters that work great for projects like this
This Is Exactly What I've Been Looking For, Thanks,
Do You Think They Will Withstand The Heat Being Wrapped Around A Xenon/Hid Projector?
good tutorial and easy even for the beginners!!Well done
Hey, can you please tell me what size led bulb did you use? is it 3mm or 5mm?
hey ive noticed you use hexagon shaped tubing nd was wandering if this is nessesary? i bought round and have only just realised? reply would be apprecated thnks
hey how do i install them? and how do you block the light from coming out around the led? and where do i hook up the wires?
Can a ciggartte lighter in dash be used in any way as a power source?
What is used as the power source when lights are added to the outside of the vehicle? Thanks:)
man thats cool as hell. i can apply this to so much. wat resistors did u use
hey i was wondering wat will yuh need to install this to your car. i am going to start to make some of these myself and try to put it for the parklights but im not 100% sure on how to connect them. i was wondering if yuh could make a tutorial on how to install it on yur car from oopening the headlights and acually connecting the wires up this would help a lot of us so much. but yea great video i love this tutorial keep on the good work =]
Sorry, can you explain what is "BLIND ROD", what is used for, and where I can find it ???
do the tube things come in sheets? like half an inch thick?
.Been trying to make this thing and haveing issues. When you say reflective tape what do you mean? I cant find any tape anywhere that is reflective on the sticky side. What kind of LEDs do you use? super bright?
wow that was really something!
you could save a bundle!
your car looks more badass in the dark!
Absolutley sick! Nice job.

You really should be using a constant current LED driver. Car power can vary from 12v-14v and spike up to 30-50v
Kevin Y are you sure about that.
dude you're a fucking Genius. Their should be more people like you. The economy is bad and you fucking made this FROM SCRATCH WITH BY HAND. fuck it Im going to try this on my car tomorrow
will this work with hollow rods too? i cant get solid ones
You can goto Home Decor place (Sears, Wallmart, Target, Home Depot, etc.) and get mini blind replacement rods. Ask someone for help at the store. You should be able to get it without any problem.

Complimenti!!veramente un lavoro ben curato!!!
hi there! i have these angel eyes... but they are CCFL. i know you can answer my question coz i know you are an expert on this, when it rained, some of the CCFL, failed to light then, after running the car for many KM, it will work, so how could this be? thanks!
Damn it was boring but at the end how you install those lights to that car damn it looked cool man thumbs up man
where do you buy the rods.
plz reply. best vid. on youtube though thanks so much !
If i use red led could I mount these in my taillight housings?
Would this still work if i did it in a rectangular form?
How do you get them in headlight case and mount them properly?
Where to get this alumunium bind rod?? Any other item it can b replaced with.??
This man is a legend
that turned out really good! I'm so doing this!
Neat idea! Good job.
Thanks
bro you got this down nice job i just got into the LED seen im trying to do alot of stuff on my truck i really want bright led tail light do you know where i got get led that have a hi and low setting like a 3 chip but with a super high MCD
AWESOME!! very well done
which type of rod it is. is it rubber sort of thing.
very impressed, nice job.
hey dude...excellent video....saw a while ago, but now I'm gonna try it....How do you connect all to energy at car??....when you try with the power supply not use resistance...just direct....
Thanks...again excellent video xD
can you make a supplies list? and where you got the supplies?
Where do we buy clear aluminum or am i missing something it says aluminum replacement rod but its clear?
where do you install the resistor?
are these in front of the glass or behind inside the lens?. $5 home made led rings. wonder oh mellower the light output would be with an 1000ohm resistor. nice. be nice if could do the highbeams in red & low beams white. in cali illegal colors are red=fire, blue=pigs, green=forest ranger
how much did all the supplies cost and where to find em a pvt message would b nice i wanna do it to my car
gotta admit i was skeptical at 9:26 with only partial rings, but then 9:36 happened...
shit looks MEAN!!!
Where did you get your materials? can u put a link?
question about the reflective tape for anyone who might know. are both sides of that type of tape reflective?
Nice :) should have named it "angel eyes for cars"
So cool.Nice job :)
Dude, that's sweet. Thank you so much for that!
awesome video thanks for shareing!!!
i love the vid, just how do you put them into your headlight/actually part of your car lol. Help me out man, my eclipse would look SICK with these!
hello, what is the brand reflective tape? it sticks upside down? thank you
its reflective on both sides. google 3m reflective tape.
@genussalticah I got mine at home depot in the blinds section. But if they dont have them try lowe's or other places like that. But whatever you do DONT USE HOLLOW RODS. THEY MUST BE SOLID!

hey, nice work!!
I was just wandering what's the name of the reflective tape. can't find that type that you can stick on the inside of the glass..

Nice job mate. I have only one thing to say: Why didn't you solder the wires?
very nice video dude! tnx a ton!

can i ask for a recipe? and where can i get the ingredients? you just taught people to cook :[ many thanks! :]
excuse me what element do you use for introdusing in microwave
Good video! Very especific
Muy bueno el video, pero estaria bueno saber como ses llama la barra esa donde mete los leds y de cuanto es la resistencia (creo que si decia che, no me acuerdo)...si pueden el que sepa como se llama, cuenten, para saber que pedir y como pedir!
Can a bicycle led fog be converted for a car fog?
Would this work with an acrylic disc?
where do you get the tape?
what is the power of the led?
kool and creative i lik!!!! :)
Daamn ! Pretty nice ;)
