maidana may not be the most technical boxer, but he has what very technical boxers wish they had, grit and determination there is no won with this guys heart. when he fights you no he is coming just ask khan, Morales, and Ortiz. this guy has had the toughest schedule of any fighter and only lost one fight against khan who fights Ortiz then khan then Morales then Alexander that's having balls.

but inside he's BAD.. i know he tried to use some dirty tactics against khan but you know even if he did those things i still admire him cause of his heart,chin and POWER and he has that never give up attitude and he can also accept defeat and he never complain being robbed or anything else he just said for he thinks he won the fight thats it but never said anything against khan.after d fyt

Um, Cortez is not a boxer, in case you didn't know. Maidana didn't elbow Khan at all. Cortez deducted a point for nothing.
Still, mad respect to Khan for weathering the storm and Maidana for relentlessly coming forward. Best Fight of 2010 IMO.
Maidana seems like a man of few words.
Off the top of my head, I could name two Argintinean fighters. Maidana's one of them.

Agree man. People don't know that liver shots or body shots can really take the air out of any person. The strength is gone and takes a long time to recuperate. Still, Maidana got up, took a beating in the early rounds, and made a comeback at the latter rounds. Hope Maidana gets recognize for his heart and being a warrior. And other boxers should stop ducking this guy and fight as great boxers do.

Unfriendly character Maidana makes him favorite. I remember Prince Hamed cocky arrogant character makes him unique. And of course nice friendly character goes to Pacman.

@kneecapped10 it's not a simple training it's more like a developement of your chin...do you think that if marvin hagler hadn't been a boxer he woul have taken those hard shots...i don't think so...i can remember i saw a video of fedor emilianenko talking about the chin in wich he said that the pression that man can handle on their chin is almost the same for every man.in a lot of case a weak chin is about your neck structure your body and your ability of see punch thrown to your chin coming...

@KajHags Once maidana landed in the 10 with that MASSIVE hay-maker, khan was on auto pilot. Had to run to regain his composer. Its was only in the 10 round that miadana really battered Khan. Both faced adversity and both overcame it. Great fighters. Respect to both and LOVED THE FIGHT!

@danhantheman I think khan would have stopped him if it wasn't for the big shot in the 10 round. That took everything away from Khan except for his heart. But I can see ur point of view as well. It was a great fight. Both are true worriers, was already a big Khan fan, but after this fight i'm a Maidana fan as well.

Khan is probably one of the most arrogant boxers around. Both men are great fighters. I'd love for a second fight, their first one was fun.

@kneecapped10 the problem is that you can train a good chin...being hit in your head and on your chin during sparring session improves your chin...back in the u.k.sparring sessions were easy for khan because he was one of the best....in los angeles at the wild card it's a totally different story...a lot of tuff fighters that want to win and prevale even during the sparring...in europe training is not as hard as u.s.a.and that's why american boxing is far better.

son dies anios mas de diferencia deberias considerarlo. Y ademas el punch y el aguante o corazon de MAIDANA es mas que elogiable y a veces eso define cualquier pelea por mas que el oponente tenga tecnica y experiencia.

The true battle is between rich and poor and by allowing the elites to distract from this fact allows them to keep us all down. I am white but grew up in a deprived area and most of my friends were from many different ethnicities, what bound us was our shared deprivation. Dont be the rich man's plaything, don't be divided. i think he lost cuz of that nasty liver shot in the 1st round. took too much out of his strength for the early rounds in which he lost all of them and took a beating. his come back came too slowly too late, if the fight was 15 rounds you can see maidana could win.
no one can anticipate a left hook to the liver. and no one can get up from one. except maidana. and still made it fight of the year. mad respect

destroyed? the fight was only 1 point apart on 2 of the judges scorecards. the point deduction and the knockdown made the difference.
