I went through the same exact progression as you described. I started carrying an HK VP9 in a Tier 1 Axis slim, it was too big and uncomfortable for me, I started making excuses as to why I was leaving my blaster at home. I recently switched over to a P365 in a QVO tactical “more discreet” holster, it’s much more comfortable to sit in the appendix position. Also, I shoot the p365 very well, surprising because of how small it is. Thanks for the vid.

For all my brother officers out there-ankle carry is the best way to carry a backup gun but not a primary while off duty.Pocket carry means a tiny pistol which is not going to stop a fight, but as a backup, could be viable.

Holsters are part of a system. As noted, don't buy a $800 gun & a $8 holster. 🤑 Quality holsters, belts, gear are out there. In 2022, you have MANY choices. Top brands: Safariland, Galco, Kirkpatrick Leather, Bianchi, Kramer(horse 🐴), Mitch Rosen, Milt Sparks, Ted Blocker. Some say horse hide holsters are ✅.

@@IronInfidel honestly it’s a bit long. So in Appendix carry it may take some getting used to. However it took me a week to get to the point where I didn’t notice it. It wasn’t uncomfortable, just different from flush fitting lights or no light at all. Like on my Sig I never had a problem because it’s so close in length. I’m a fat guy so my experience will be different from yours! Haha. I’ve decided to stick with the brand for all of my WMLs and handheld lights.
Edit: in terms of the the functionality of the light, I bought both of mine because of the various reviews on it and they are tanks for sure. There are better reviews then what I can give! Haha

@@IronInfidel it's pretty sweet dude! So far after a few years and several thousand rounds I haven't considered buying a replacement pistol.
I enjoy shooting it and I feel confident in it as a product.
Only downside is, from a quality of life perspective, the grip texture is super aggressive. So I gotta wear a base layer or some form of undershirt so my stomach doesnt get rubbed raw.
Ironically enough, the grip texture was one of the selling points for me because it reminded me of my skateboard.

TL;DR. I have 5 different pistols that I carry and one is ankle pistol that I always have on me. I make my own holsters.
I switch between a M9A3, G23, Judge, VP9, and 50AE Deagle. I also carry a Micro9 kimber in a ankle holster and I have a good reason behind having an ankle pistol. Say you're in a position that you need to be down or crouched, it is damn near impossible to draw an AIWB and the same goes for inside of a car or any other seated position. Also, yes, I do carry a Deagle AIWB sometimes and I do so while wearing a T-Shirt and I have zero printing; I make my own holsters and spend a bunch of time getting them fitted and being as concealed as humanly possible and making them retain well enough to withstand being vigorously shook upside down but also being able to be drawn very very very easily.

When I first got my ccw I was nervous to carry with a round chambered because I don't use the external safety on my pistol. So I would set up my gun as if dry firing so striker cocked on an empty chamber. Insert my mag holster and ho about my day. Did that for 2 weeks checking when I got home to see if the striker had fallen. That gave me the confidence that I needed. Hope that helps any one who may be reluctant to carry with a round in the pipe

Tip 1: NEVER go with one in the chamber!!! If you'r not in a war zone, U don't need one in the chamber!!
    Here some reasons for that.
1, It's too dangerous, One mistake of yours or your loved ones and you will cry all your life!!
2, When you pull out you'r gun in front of one who endangers you or those around you and you racking the slide in his face, In most cases he will be scared and realize that his life is now in real danger and he will back doun!! now you don't save only you'r life but his life too.
Whene you racking the slide in front of the one who dangers someone he realise that this is no more game and 99% he will back doun!! If not now you can shoot him and know you did everything to avoid that.
Yuo do'nt want to shoot someone that piting a loded gun to someone! If you do that hi can shoot him by ecident

Honestly man I doze off at night sometimes with my gun and spare mag still on haha on the couch of course but still. I own a small company in Kentucky so it’s in my appendix holster, a G3C TORO that’s been customized to no end Lol polished internals, everything plastic replaced with stainless steel, the trigger is polished too so it’s their OEM trigger but refined. With a TLR-7, spare mag along for the ride in an appendix rig as well. Separate but same concept as yours 👍🏼 my frame has been undercut, the beaver tail enhanced, the pic rail thing cleaned up so the light sets properly. It barely works without my clean up job 😕 works great now tho!! Haha

I've had that issue too. If I wear clothes that fit and look good then I get printing (even with a small p365), if I wear loose clothes it doesn't but then I look bad. I don't like off-body carry but that's just what I have to go with most of the time. Vertx makes great bags for CCW.
