This is a fantastic performance - it's fun to watch cause if you watch closely you'll see the same thing happens to Boy George that happens to so many great folks who have done duets with Dionne - at some point they fall off and just enjoy Dionne's vocal range - saw the same thing w. a Dionne duet w. Barry Manilow, Glenn Campbell and even Frank Sinatra - and that even tho Dionne is always consummately generous in engaging with whoever she's dueting with in terms of letting them set the pace, deferring to riffs, etc. - all these Dionne videos are absolutely the most wonderful things for up and coming vocal performers to study - her vocal range and control, her "emotional intelligence" in expressing the lyrics, her stage demeanor,, the exquisite elegance with which she always carries her costume-ing - just the whole package! 🙂

Dionne Warwick and Boy George blended together so well here and it was a very unique version of "I Say A Little Prayer," at the very least. That even the recently-departed "Today" Show former weatherman Willard Scott had once dressed up as Boy George to do weather reports on national television shows how popular Boy George and his Culture Club band were back in that era!!! A superb and special blend on an already-classic Dionne Warwick song from her 1960s Burt Bacharach-Hal David era.
Amazing performance by two charismatic singers! I love "I Say A Little Prayer" and here, I particularly like how it starts with the "Culture Club " sound, also present but more subtle at the end of the performance. So recognizable! That was a good idea 💫 Thank you for the arrangement.
Mike Baird was with the band by this point? And John Goux? I thought they'd be at work with Mike Post by that point. And Stewart Levin? He's had quite a reputation as a composer for other TV shows.
The people who I listed as being in my band are the people who were in the band. In addition to playing for SOLID GOLD, they also played on all sorts of other shows and recording sessions.
If so, you haven’t heard of the TV show titled Star in the Star. When one singer sings in the voice of the singer.The essence of the show is to be deceptevely similar to the other.He was clearly ahead of his time, but he gave a TV show a chance.The idea is brilliant.
