In this lesson you'll learn 15 very cool dominant chords for jazz guitar. I'll explain the theory and the scale and then we go through the dominant chords one by one. We start with the b-string as top notes and then we also include the high e-string. This way you'll have a dominant chord for each scale tone at your fingertips. While the lower ones are great for comping, the ones up to the e-string will be helpful for chord melody and chord solos.
We'll cover dominant 7th chords, dominan 9th chords and dominant 13 chords. Then we'll apply all this knowledge to a Jazz Blues in C with solely dominant chords. You'll love that one.
I hope you like my dominant chords guitar tutorial and give it a thumbs up. Please share the love and the knowledge and subscribe my channel for more lessons like this one. I have a dedicated jazz guitar chords playlist here on RUclips. Check it out!

Wow! I love this lesson and could have used it 40 years ago! I played in 'Country'' dance bands and have played my share of 'cowboy chords'. It's the sound of these comping chords that got me excited about Jazz guitar. Good work Sandra!

Wow, wow, wow! You know I'm an old Blues guy and this tutorial is gold. The way you convey complicated matter in such a calm way is absolutely needed in today's fast paced world. Thanks for not doing all the meme sh..it and fast cuts. This is almost like a 1:1 lesson. The Blues at the end is 🔥🔥🔥. Thanks lady!

So good to see your smiling face, Sandra!! Sweet sounds here … the turnaround with the b9’s was worth the price of admission alone😉. I like using the 13b9 right before going to the 4 chord, if it’s a 9. Great stuff here … the cowboy chords went out with the old pan of dried up beans😁👍! Be well!!

Thanks for the very useful information. You brutally destroyed the Cowboy chord voicing. 😂 The only thing missing was to break out a tuba.

Gruß Gott, Sandra - Sorry to bother you with this. I bought the great lesson on 15 dominant chords. It’s a small file and I downloaded it to my phone, which has a lot of storage space. But the file won’t open. The message said to download it to a computer, which I don’t have. Any ideas?

You have to unzip it until you see the PDF file. If you continue to have problems opening, olease write me an email. RUclips doesn't show me all the comments here and it's not the right place to talk about private orders.

Never was much of one for them cowboys anyway. 🤠 I'm a coastal and city boy. Ha ha ha. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love your explanation of the comping top note horizontally and staying no higher than the B string. 🙂
Sandra: "we don't want to get higher ..."
Willie Nelson: "wait, what?!" Ha ha ha!!!!
