@@Wuggernaut lol, it's from a popular Dark Souls meme/parody called "Happy Souls" about the bird lady who smiths boss weapons in DS2. Apologies if it was confusing lol. 👍 Oh, and the lost Sinner Drops a special item on the second pass using the bonfire ascetic as well. However, it's only useful if you're employing pyromancy.✌️
@31:13 If you don't light the oil gutters, then it's much darker in the boss arena. It limits how far you can see, but more importantly, it dramatically limits the distance that you can target-lock the boss. This boss likes to jump around, and in the dark you lose sight of him, and lose target-lock.

@@jamesgrenier8856I am almost sure that she disappears once you kill the Rotten. And she is not returning if you use bonfire ascetics. But that meeting is optional, so not a big deal.
Merry Christmas! 19:50 This wall near a crack is a hidden wall 95% of the players does not know about. I think it has a ring for mages so not a big deal. Just mention it, because rings are a fairly unique loot. The second ring that you missed is in the first location (before the character creation), before crossing the bridge to the house with the firekeepers there was a hidden path on the left. 20:39 If I had a cent for every time explody guys punched you to death I would have two. And that's a lot, they never use this attack.😐 32:20 As you can see in the cutscene she extinguishes all light in her room, so without you lighting the oil her arena will be in complete darkness. Mechanically, your camera lock will have an extremely short leash and unlock about any time she jumps. In combination with her jumping over your char, it creates a little bit of a challenge for inexperienced players (who rely too much on lock), especially if one did not change the brightness in-game settings. 37:03 What sin you ask? Kill the boss two more times to figure it out😉 ( it actually works with all 4 great bosses, and it was an advertisement of bonfire ascetics) 42:14 You do not need a weapon of the same category for dual-wielding. You can dual-wield ultra great sword (UGS) with smaller swords, the system is flexible enough to allow weird builds, not something like a dagger and ultra great hammer, but weapons with similar looks usually work. (A broken sword in the main hand and UGS in the left are actually one of the most powerful builds in the game, some even call such a build... broken) 48:57 Oh yeah, these fruits are quite good for the right places, not telling you to use them you are quite good in the game, but for me personally, when I played first time, it was a game changer for some nasty locations later. 1:05:09 He is on a box art of the scholar version of the game after all. 1:11:29 His name might be forgotten, but not his beautiful hat. And no, you are right to assume that if something is long forgotten it's a vague hints to ds1, it is a sequel after all, so items from ds1 usually have corresponding descriptions. Do not worry, Ds2 has enough distinct things to have its own lore (input your joke about ds3) 1:47:05 That's weird that she did not give a different dialog, maybe try again later, or try talking several times in a row, or try talking to the blacksmith, they have a business deal together. 1:50:08 It was, in fact, not the small exploration at the end of the episode. 2:11:32 And that's why at least some armor makes a difference, still lucky though. just to sum up, all the bosses in this episode had some gimmicks, Sinner and dark room that can be lit up before getting to her arena, skeleton lords with don't give up sceletons after death (each swipe of UGS is satisfying on this boss), and a chariot with a marathon race.
Merry Christmas! And tysm for this comment! I enjoyed each one of these timestamp recaps/comments 🤩 there’s a lot of good info to keep with me as well I appreciate it :)
Happy holidays! :) A few things, as usual: - Bonfire Ascetics - as others have said, you can burn those at Bonfires. What is true for the Rotten is also true for the Lost Sinner, in fact, for every great soul. I will not spoil what exactly the Bonfire Ascetics do, but I think you will figure it out really quickly when using one. - The NPC next to the first Huntsmans Cops Bonfire probably does not want to talk to you because of your Int or Faith. He teaches Hexes and those scale with Int and Faith. - Pate is indeed the guy who was next to the gate which clothes behind you. He is not the cartographer, this is Cale. Most of the time NPCs move once you exhaust their dialogue, so if an NPC is not near the place where it was before, it is moved on. You should see Pate and Creighton at some point in your playthrough. - The Stone Trader updates her inventory from time to time. So talk to her from time to time to see if she has new stuff. On that note, talking to the Smith in Majula should also be nice. - The merchant in the house in Majula sells Boss Armor. He will also change his dialogue when you buy stuff from him.
@@Wuggernaut I really appreciate your weekly and long videos :) I have said it before, I really like to watch people play any From Software-game for the first time, but your playthroughs are my favorite!
Merry Christmas brotatochip. 15:00 "visions of boss then jump attack" is a reference to the Capra Demon boss room from DS1😉 Looking forward to finishing the rest if this video, keep up the good work.
@@Wuggernautthanks my man. Also in regards to fashion souls, I'm not sure if anyone told you yet, but the guy in the little house in Majula sells boss armor :)
Hey Wugs, thought I'd share some random funfacts and some recommendations :D The undead chariot can be defeated with a ranged build or attacked while it's still running in circles. Since you wouldn't use the gate, it gives you a different death animation, in which the chariot doesn't manage the jump over the hole and barely holds onto the ledge. It's just a neat little detail. Probably not a very useful but barely know funfact: If you jump into a humanoid of your size, the get staggered for a short while! It's occasionally useful for runebacks and really fun to use in the forest of fallen giants. The ring of steel protection mentioned a knight king- this is a reference to the king of Balder from dark souls 1! In the basement of the Majula mansion near the cartographer kale (who you confused with Pate) you may find some shards lying on the ground... Those shards were part of an extremely object from dark souls 1. I wonder if you'll find out what it is :0 Merchants occasionally restock their items if you beat specific bosses and some characters get new dialogue- especially the cat! She also sells 2 useful rings which you went over in one of the first episodes. One attracts the attention of nearby enemies to the wearer- this helps keep summoned Phantoms away from harm! The second ring might sound useful, but may help you interact with a certain NPC. She also sells alluring skulls! They attract hollows or beasts which can make some runbacks a lot easier runbacks easier. Lastly, you can also upgrade bows and crossbows! You can get an infinite amount of arrows/ bolts from the blacksmiths across the game. Since you prefer strength, I heavily recommend a crossbow, especially since you can carry it in one hand, or even duo wield 2 crossbows!
I'm so glad you found that armor set. I used parts of it a lot through my playthrough, mostly cause it looks heckin awesome! Thanks to Gren for including you in his fetish ^^'
Few notes: I like that you try to prevent us from being over lore dumped and likewise overstimulated by the lore music you play but I think we would’ve been okay. On that note tho if you are reading descriptions in areas that have ambient music like majula let the background music take place of lore music… maybe. Other notes. Happy holidays and good job on another great video! I meant to say this one last episode if you banish a friendly phantom you will have to re rest at a bonfire to resummon them. Additionally you finally seem to have grasped to concept of breakable and interactive environments so just a friendly reminder to hit ANY AND EVERYTHING WOODEN (and other weak materials) to check for potential secrets and trust you gut instinct on fake walls most are placed with common sense. Also if the environment has damage like the wall that led to mcduffs workshop in you last episode look around for powerful explosives or big wall-smashing-enemies to break the wall for you. Reminders The map man in majula is NOT PATE; Pate was where you remember him being you found the map guy in a cave searching some rubble he is the guy that gave you the mansion key. Pate gave you the white soapstone. You seemed to have forgotten something the blacksmith lanigrast (in majula) said so maybe re-exhaust his dialogue.
The item description for Soul Spear from DS1 reads: "Sorcery developed by Big Hat Logan. Fire piercing soul spear. A symbol of Logan's strength, the soul spear is referenced repeatedly in the legends, and is said to be on par with Lord Gwyn's lightning." So you were right on the money about Logan when you stopped yourself from looking for DS1 connections. This is the same world as DS1, just centuries/millenia later.
I mainly use the bonfire ascetic so I can fight a particular boss a second time. It increases that bonfire's area to a new game level (new game +1, +2, etc.) It refreshes enemies that may have been depleted by killing them too many times, and also restores the boss associated with that bonfire if it's already been defeated). Sometimes increasing the level of an area will make changes to an area other than just difficulty.
Merry Christmas, Wuggs! Congrats on clearing Huntsman's Copse! Special congratulations on discovering and defeating the Executioner's Chariot -That sweet skeleton lord armor was totally worth the effort. FYI if you wear that covenant ring, you can engage in duels with your bloodbrothers. Those mysterious statues with the scales and scythes are portals to dueling arenas.
Quality upload as usual 👌 Hope you keep having fun with the game. You're coming up on one of my favorite areas, the iron keep. 🤘 2:04:23 Certified coyote moment😂
nice progress today. lost bastille/sinner's rise is one of my favorite areas but this next area coming up after huntsman's copse is pretty great. a lot of big bosses in this game will give you something fun when you kill them on ng+. "im sorry" XD
Merry Christmas Wuggs! The little guy at the end is the Invader covenant leader, normally you can only speak to him if you got a Token of Spite from invading and killing another player.....however the game gives one as normal loot in a later game area that you already did! Talking to the statues after joining lets you duel other players and winning advances the Covenant, you can also advance it by killing Blue summons who come in to defend people being invaded. (They defend members of the way of blue, the first covenant you joined from the miserable dude in Majula) Speaking of which if you happen to engage in bridge parkour and get a certain item nearby it's the 'good' version of the Token of Spite that people earn for helping other players with bosses or becoming a Blue summon and helping a player defeat an invader. This lets you speak to the Blue Knight by Heide's Tower. Just for some dialogue and a vendor similar to the little guy. Oh and it's Ray-Pier and Flamm-Berje both English versions of originally French words so alas as an American, if you are not familiar with the words you have no chance of pronouncing them correctly :) Actually is rapier from French or Spanish? ropera? I actually don't really know. Great episode again. I hate that run to the chariot boss and always suffer as you did. WP in succeeding.
Merry Christmas dude and thank you for the extra info to do with the covenant and its leader :)! Also pronunciation is always a struggle for me 😅hopefully I hold on to those corrections
@33:29 You can use an effigy right before you summon, so you could clear the path to the boss first, then use an effigy so the NPC won't take damage before the boss fight.
I always look forward to your uploads! I can't believe how well you did on the way to Undead Purgatory! That run back was pure pain for me on my first playthrough...You did already do The Gutter and the Black Gulch which gave you weapon upgrade materials, so maybe thats why...I have never used The Greatsword in DS2, but I will certainly use it for the first part of my next playthrough...There are several more awesome Ultra Greatswords that you get from boss souls later in the game that I think you will really like so don't waste any Petrified Dragon Bones!
Dude! Keep up the awesome content! Your patients, exploration and attention to detail are the exact ingredients that make DS2 a blast to play through. A lot of content creators skip DS2 due to its bad reputation, but a lot of us truly love the game for it's differences. Thanks for not skipping this gem 🙂
Fun fact, Huntsman's Copse and the Skeleton Lords were the playtest area of the Dark Souls 2 Network Test shortly before release. I got to play it, it was great. You picked from a list of 5 starting classes and got to explore most of the area and the test ended once you defeated the Skeleton Lords. 1:11:20 Sorry to spoil it but yes, the vague description alludes to Big Hat Logan. One of the lore gimmicks of Drangleic is that Lordran is far forgotten in the past, so all the big players from then were forgotten, so item descriptions can't even name them either. 1:12:00 In case you haven't figured it out, Blossom Kite Shield is the DS2 equivalent of the Grass Crest Shield in Dark Souls 1, so many players, including me, use it on every melee build. You now have the choice of sticking to your current shield with 100% damage blocking, or the Blossom Kite Shield with less damage reduction but gives you more stamina regen. Seeing as how you're using the Greatsword, you consume a lot of stamina, so it might be a better shield to equip. 1:27:20 BRUH, how are you just ignoring the curse like that 😂? Most people have PTSD from Dark Souls 1 and are terrified of getting cursed again, though ironically in this game it's pitiful compared to DS1 curse.
@27:14 I know in Dark Souls 1, if you release an NPC the summon sign does not reappear until you rest at a bonfire. But if you exit the game, then continue the game, the summon sign will reappear after the area reloads. Not sure if that trick works on DS2.
Can confirm you didnt waste your twinkling titanite on the Craftsman Hammer, that thing is a beast and carried me through most of my last DS2 run. Definitely give it a whirl if you want a change of pace that still works well with your STR build
Fun fact, you finished your DS1 playthrough at Level 82, it's only Part 7 and you've already surpassed that here. Just shows how strict the soul drops and level requirements are in DS1 compared to DS2. DS2 can be generous when it wants to be
Merry Christmas everyone. In DS2 you level faster: I was lvl 100 by halfway of DS2 and I finished DS1 at lvl 81. So reaching level 150-200 by the end of DS2 if you do all the content is possible. Bonefire Astetic: Spoilers below. Makes that bonfire area permanently 1 NG cycle harder. It respawns almost everything. Dark Souls 2 NG+ and NG++ often have additional enemies, and the Red Phantom version is frequently used too. Kinda like the Black word tendency in DES. Some enemies only have 1 life on NG but will have 12 lives on NG+ before they despawn. Some chests also get better loot and or a Mimic. Many bosses also drop a better reward and might get additional adds. Max game difficulty is NG+7/bonefire Astetic 8. (DS3, Sekiro, and ER are also maxed at NG+7). Also in Dark Souls 2 higher bonfire areas will have increased drop chance from enemies.(the game does not tell you this) Usually, it is best to farm gear in NG+2/bonefire 3. (item discovery+250) To balance drop chance and kill speed. Yes, Dark Souls 2 has the most tweaked NG+ cycles.
Summoning others won’t affect npc questlines. The more the merrier. Also get to know when to use a sweep attack vs a straight attack. Heavy and light, one handed and two. It’ll help out later on. Knowing what buttons do what attack for situations will greatly help. R1 will always rule the day. Good luck in the iron keep.
Merry Christmas Wuggs, hope you have a great day :) You are correct, lighting those fires for the Lost Sinner brightened the arena and let you see, it also made your lockon range better, if they aren't lit, the area is super dark and she has to be really close to lock onto her. For keeping an NPC alive, the cat in Majula sells a ring that gives you more enemy aggro, especially helpful because Lucatiel is usually suicidal. And for the sins of the Lost Sinner, watch her intro cut scene and look at what crawls into her eye, where have you seen that before? You did a good job with that invader by the dragon tooth, that bastard can be really annoying if you come at a lower level or on higher NG+ cycles.
@@Wuggernaut You're welcome. Also, I forgot, to talk to Felkin (npc at the beginning of Huntsmans Copse) you need your faith and intelligence to be a higher level than you have. Same reason the old man in No Mans Wharf wouldn't talk to you, your intelligence isn't high enough. Not a big deal if you aren't a sorcerer or hexer.
Great christmas gift :D Glædelig Jul from Denmark. You have become a true adventurer, looking at every angle and corner. You mentioned story a bit, and I wont get in to lore. But I can say that this game makes me feel like the story is more about the humans in the world, where ds1 was a story about gods and grand heroes. You can kill the chariot with ranged without lowering the gate, and you get a different kill "scene" :) and now that you have joined the covernant, try going up to the statues next to the little guy. A tip for jumping and falling, if you want to avoid making a roll when you land, do a jump/fall attack, that will make your char do a "superhero" landing. 1:57:05 did you notice what dropped the smooth and silky stone ?
@@Wuggernaut there is invisible hollows sitting around in the world, you can see them with a torch or find them by bumping into them as they are still physically there. Another hidden thing ;)
OMG you found my favorite place to hang out! Dark Souls 2 had the coolest covenant setup with the Blood Servants vs the Blue Sentinels. I really wish they continued this idea into the future games but sadly they have not.
Merry Christmas wugs and summer! May you and your family have a blessed and safe Christmas! its been a fun journey with you both this year. This coming year your channel will grow, I just know it! Need that silent hill playthrough!
Pretty sure the "visions of boss" message was 'cos the area looks a lot like where you fight capra in the first game. Narrow corridor style, stairs up the side, lil tunnel/alcove section... common tactic is to drop attack him
1:50:19 If you help the local economy by buying stuff from the merchant, he might be able to offer new things for you. And if things go very well for him, he might even help you out with a unique item set, if you are broke...
A great episode once again! Storytime: In the Skeleton Lords fight I broke my sword just after killing the big skellys and had a horde of smaller ones after me. I'm not fast enough to change my weapon through the inventory and not die, but I did have my crossbow equipped. So for the rest of the fight I ran from the horde, shot a few shots behind me and ran some more. Rince and repeat and this is how I beat the Skeleton Lords on my first try. It was a circus and a half. Anyway, Merry Christmas!
Hi @wuggernaut, just a quick hint, you missed the lower part in the Black Gulch. It somewhere in front of the giant worm. Use a torch to see the platform. and yes you can go way below if you look carefully on the lower cliff. It was crucial to the story later on but not necessarily important since many people did missed it in the first playthrough.
@@Wuggernaut Btw those "Creighton or Pate" quest line was very hard to fulfill. you really need a specific things to do to progress their quest line. Either you want people to spoil about those specific things, or just try your own luck to experience the game. either way hope you still enjoy the game. DS2 was a good game, but fans are just compared it to the rest of Soulsborne franchise that make it a bit bad.
3:08 By the way, there is another dealer with boss weapons in the game. Good luck finding him). And also: (I hope you like riddles): There are "secret" souls of bosses in the game, there are 4 of them. They can't just be found, they can only be obtained under...certain conditions.
Wouldn't it be cool if you could re-fight bosses and get different rewards than the first time you fought them? It would be so cool! Especially for the great souls.
If you going for the Rotten again (by using a bonfire ascetic) you can bring best gurl Lucatiel to the fight. You missed her last time (torch on the ledge near the first bonfire to see where to drop into the void - there is also another possible drop near the second bonfire with more stuff you haven't discovered yet)
You know what's super insane about this game? There are 2 achievements' 1 for not dyeing and beating the game and the 2nd one is for using no bonfire and beating the game. there use to be challenge run streams on twitch of people trying to do a no death no bonfire run. watching the rage quits was why i ever joined any streams.
@Wuggernaut man it really is it turns estus flasks into a last resort heal cause you can't get them back also repairing items can only be done using a repair powder or a blacksmith and even fast traveling can't be done aside from homeward bones.
Didn't sift BUT Summon as MANY little random npcs as you want, won't mess with any questlines Bashful Ray seriously wants to be a part of your jolly cooperation
It's Christmas Eve here in Germany so Merry Xmas to you, Wuggs! Was a great year discovering your videos and your Souls' journey. Have a good one and see you in...holy shit, 2025! (I'm getting old)
Merry Christmas Wuggs! I am enjoying watching all of these and just saw you have Lies of P too, whoo! So excited for when you get to DS3. It's the best of them, so fluid and the bosses. Their lore, music, mechanics. Believe me, chef's kiss. Will you do bloodborne, sekiro and ER too??
Story of the Lost Sinner is one of the most complex and intresting in DS2. It connects number of characters and locations from both DS2 and DS1 in order to complete and understand. Long story short hollowed body of the boss belonged to a character from Iron Keep location while soul and it's description refers to very important character from DS1(remember bug with a great soul) hence why male looking boss is refered to as female.
Awesome episode Wuggs. It was a blast. I love the new fashion, and I hope you liked the Executioners Chariot. It's one of my favorite fights, and it's the only "gimmick" fight I actually like in the entire series. Titchy Gren, the guy obsessed with blood, is also one of my favorite voice actor performances in the game....He's so creepy. I love it. Gonna get slightly critical now, but only out of caring and respect and I'll keep it positive. You really shouldn't overuse effigies like that ... I'm not saying don't use them, and I'm not saying don't try to summon. The heath loss is also really annoying. I think it's the worst mechanic in the game, and I love this game....I get why you want to use them so much. How can I explain this right?.... I'll incentivize it for you.... A decent amount of human effigies is necessary to properly access some optional content in the endgame. While most of this content is a bit lackluster, it does culminate in (arguably) the best bossfight in the base game, and I would hate to see you miss it. I'm also sure that you don't want to regret missing out on that. I generally try to save about 30 (I'm not a pro gamer), but you should try to save up at least 20 just to be safe. Again, I'm not saying don't use them.... definitely use them, but use them sparingly. Popping 12 effigies per episode is... excessive. Alright, rant over. Lastly, Don't stop speculating on the DS1 parallels. I think you think it's annoying, but it tells me you're paying attention. That is a good thing. These parallels are literally everywhere in the game, and the more you look for them, you'll find they just keep popping up. You should never take your assumptions as fact, of course, but you're starting to see them. You were already correct about the soul spear description (Big Hat Logan reference), and you were also correct about Huntsmans copse being very similar to Darkroot Garden.... because it is Darkroot Garden. That type of stuff is really fun for me to watch you piece it all together, so keep at it. It's fun. You're making some serious progress. You don't miss much, and that tells me you're taking your time to explore. I don't think most of your viewers, including myself, expect you to find everything, but it is nice to see. A little recognition for that is in order, I think. There's still A LOT of game left, and I'm pumped for it. (BTW I already wrote this entire thing out, and RUclips refused to post it, so I wrote the whole f*cking thing again. If it does end up showing up for you.... I guess you get read it twice lol) Merry Christmas
But you're right about the sorcery creator, DS2 create his own lore at the same time it's showing the cycle repeat itself Wich throwback to ds1, as lost sinner and the other lords are linked to the old ones(can't tell how yet)
Imho, 2 handing the Great Sword is more effective. It has decent blocking stats, so you can use it as a shield. The move-set just works better with 2 hands, especially for Crystal Lizards. Whatever works for you, though, for certain.
@@Wuggernaut Bear in mind, the primary use for the Rose Blossom shield's stamina recovery is when 2 handing large right hand weapons as this commenter suggested, and blossom as left weapon on your back while 2 handing. Helps tons when wielding heavy weapons. 👍
I would disagree that it is necessarily more effective. Two handing has vertical pound attack that does not cover a big area around you, and also requires you to be more precise with your direction when attacking since your movement decides where attack lands, not the camera lock. So I would say that the most effective way is to switch between two handing and one handing depending on situation. Basically, a lot of enemies one hand r1 horizontal swipes. One big tough enemy/boss two hand r1/r2 with shield that gives some boosts on your back. But I think we are close to dual wielding anyway. And that style might not be for everyone, but noone can say that it's not satisfying to bonk with two ultra greatswords.
For the love of gwyn, stop running away from items dropped by enemies. Its okay while you are in a fight, but you just straight up often just walk past them. It is getting to the point where you missed a shard, large shard and chunk from the crystal lizard you killed at 1:33:39.
Time for the comment as always Really good job Wuggs with that video and I see you found the binoculars (I hope Summer does not see this 😂😂) However now the advice: Next area(s) will need a bit of preparation and help from a few friends in advance (think of the NPCs you have found till now) because it can be a bit brutal. You will also need to mangage your resources more carefully (humanities). Humanities will be very very important for later in the game so try to hang on to them and not spend them too often :) With that said, a Merry Christmas to you and your family
Also, I can't let you keep living the brassiere life my guy. It's pronounced bray-zee-er :D Like "Wow that's pretty brazey, but it could be brazier". God speed.
Merry Christmas, just wanted to remind you of the bonfire you found down the hole in majula, if i didnt miss you go back to that i think you just forgot about it after finding the gutter, if not my bad.
Love your videos but has anyone told you how many items you run over without picking. You are missing a ton of shards. You have done it in multiple areas. 1:33:53 in this video was a big one. Just trying to help. Can't wait for the next video.
Ah, yes. The "Arse'd Sword." My favorite greatsword. P.S. The Pursuer's ultra great sword is indeed an awesome choice of armaments! I used it extensively for one of my builds.

20:39 If I had a cent for every time explody guys punched you to death I would have two. And that's a lot, they never use this attack.😐
32:20 As you can see in the cutscene she extinguishes all light in her room, so without you lighting the oil her arena will be in complete darkness.
Kill the boss two more times to figure it out😉 ( it actually works with all 4 great bosses, and it was an advertisement of bonfire ascetics)
42:14 You do not need a weapon of the same category for dual-wielding. You can dual-wield ultra great sword (UGS) with smaller swords, the system is flexible enough to allow weird builds, not something like a dagger and ultra great hammer, but weapons with similar looks usually work. (A broken sword in the main hand and UGS in the left are actually one of the most powerful builds in the game, some even call such a build... broken)
48:57 Oh yeah, these fruits are quite good for the right places, not telling you to use them you are quite good in the game, but for me personally, when I played first time, it was a game changer for some nasty locations later.
Do not worry, Ds2 has enough distinct things to have its own lore (input your joke about ds3)
1:47:05 That's weird that she did not give a different dialog, maybe try again later, or try talking several times in a row, or try talking to the blacksmith, they have a business deal together.
A few things, as usual:
- Bonfire Ascetics - as others have said, you can burn those at Bonfires.
Happy Holidays! And thank you for all these tips, as usual 😅 I seriously appreciate you dropping knowledge each vid :)
@@Wuggernaut I really appreciate your weekly and long videos :) I have said it before, I really like to watch people play any From Software-game for the first time, but your playthroughs are my favorite!
🥹🙏🙏🙏
Merry Christmas brotatochip.
15:00 "visions of boss then jump attack" is a reference to the Capra Demon boss room from DS1😉
Looking forward to finishing the rest if this video, keep up the good work.
Merry Christmas Shooby! And ohhhhh I didn’t catch that at all 😅
@@Wuggernautthanks my man. Also in regards to fashion souls, I'm not sure if anyone told you yet, but the guy in the little house in Majula sells boss armor :)

From high fiving Lucatiel to staring at Chloanne with binoculars 😂😂 the duality of man haha. Merry Christmas dude! Thanks for the upload
Hahah Merry Christmas! And no worries!
I mean she wears dress with that much cleavage for a reason...
13:09
Invader got absolutely Dominated tffff
This dude made me dance with him for 10mins
Bro this ultra greatsword is a bully 🤣
@Wuggernaut
I'm scared of the dual wield now 💀
Wuggs, appreciator of majestic boulders, looks respectfully...
15:15 I think the comment meant that this arena looks like the Capra demon room with the dogs and a similar looking staircase
Hey Wugs, thought I'd share some random funfacts and some recommendations :D
The undead chariot can be defeated with a ranged build or attacked while it's still running in circles.
I wonder if you'll find out what it is :0
Merchants occasionally restock their items if you beat specific bosses and some characters get new dialogue- especially the cat!
Thank you so much for these tips! I’ve recorded ep 8 already but I’ll def explore these things in ep 9 🤩
You are dealing SO much damage relatively early. So fun to see some enemies, bosses, and especially invaders get trashed.
Also. Lucatiel
I'm so glad you found that armor set. I used parts of it a lot through my playthrough, mostly cause it looks heckin awesome!
Thanks to Gren for including you in his fetish ^^'
Duuuude it looks so sick!
Few notes:
I like that you try to prevent us from being over lore dumped and likewise overstimulated by the lore music you play but I think we would’ve been okay.
Reminders
The map man in majula is NOT PATE; Pate was where you remember him being you found the map guy in a cave searching some rubble he is the guy that gave you the mansion key. Pate gave you the white soapstone.
You seemed to have forgotten something the blacksmith lanigrast (in majula) said so maybe re-exhaust his dialogue.
I appreciate this dude! I recorded ep 8 already and 👀👀 to some of these tips 🤩
If you have an abundance of extra souls, you should patronize Maughlin’s shop! The more you buy, the more his wares change (to an extent)
Ahhh gotcha, I need to make a habit of this ty!
Nice!! I totally forgot the ds1 version’s description so thank you 🙏🙏
I mainly use the bonfire ascetic so I can fight a particular boss a second time.
👀👀👀
Merry Christmas, Wuggs! Congrats on clearing Huntsman's Copse! Special congratulations on discovering and defeating the Executioner's Chariot -That sweet skeleton lord armor was totally worth the effort. FYI if you wear that covenant ring, you can engage in duels with your bloodbrothers. Those mysterious statues with the scales and scythes are portals to dueling arenas.
Wuggs protecting Lucatiel: SCRAM. leave her alone. she she doesn't want to talk to you.
LOL I could smell a meme but I had to look it up 😅
Quality upload as usual 👌
Hope you keep having fun with the game. You're coming up on one of my favorite areas, the iron keep. 🤘
2:04:23 Certified coyote moment😂
Thank you dude! And I hope so too, so far this is creeping up on ds1 quality 👀
nice progress today. lost bastille/sinner's rise is one of my favorite areas but this next area coming up after huntsman's copse is pretty great. a lot of big bosses in this game will give you something fun when you kill them on ng+. "im sorry" XD
👀👀👀
Merry Christmas Wuggs!
The little guy at the end is the Invader covenant leader, normally you can only speak to him if you got a Token of Spite from invading and killing another player.....however the game gives one as normal loot in a later game area that you already did! Talking to the statues after joining lets you duel other players and winning advances the Covenant, you can also advance it by killing Blue summons who come in to defend people being invaded. (They defend members of the way of blue, the first covenant you joined from the miserable dude in Majula)
Speaking of which if you happen to engage in bridge parkour and get a certain item nearby it's the 'good' version of the Token of Spite that people earn for helping other players with bosses or becoming a Blue summon and helping a player defeat an invader.
What a looney tunes moment and i love it 2:04:20 😂😂
😅😅😅
I've watched a few DS2 playthroughs, and played it myself. This is the first time I've consciously registered that the horse has two heads.
Thank you dude! And the ultra gs is definitely doing wonders LOL Also ty I’ll remember that about the petrified dragon bones!🙏
Happy holidays to y’all. Proud to have made the underrated comment from last week. Great episode
Ayyee it was a good one 😂 happy holidays!
The Executioner's Chariot is still one of my favorite boss fights of all time. Not super difficult, but the design is just metal AF
Very true, him crashing through the gate we bring down is super creative and I think it’ll stick with me
Thank you dude, and no worries! It had to be done 🫡 and honestly I’m loving it so far
Thanks for these tips my dude! I think you may be right about the blossom shield 🤔 I already recorded ep 8 but may just have to consider this for ep 9
@Wuggernaut It's really not a bad shield to use even for blocking, just upgrade it and you can raise the damage reduction AND the stability.
Sadly equipment load is tied to stamina recovery speed, so the blossom kite shield barely breaks even.
The fashion souls in going wild!!
great episode
Hellll yeaaaaah! And thank you so much dude 🫡
Appreciate this, I definitely will :)
A very merry Christmas! Loved the creativity with the binoculars 😂
🤣🤣 thank you thank you 😅
Wuggs : 👀👀
Her : don't look at me like that
Wuggs : oops
That has to be the funniest part of the whole episode
😅😅 I love those perfect timing moments 😂
@Wuggernaut the "I'm about to fall "then proceed to fall is almost as funny and perfect timing 😂😂
The sincerity with which you take these player messages for is endearing. "Look carefully" 😅
Hahah too many times I think they have my best interest at heart 😂
Happy Holidays! Can’t wait to watch this between family time.
Happy Holidays! And happy to help with the intermissions 🤩
Fun fact, you finished your DS1 playthrough at Level 82, it's only Part 7 and you've already surpassed that here. Just shows how strict the soul drops and level requirements are in DS1 compared to DS2. DS2 can be generous when it wants to be
Oh damn I didn’t even notice 😅 that makes ds1 seem so brutal 🤣
That's because it has more stats you need to level up.
@@renatoramos8834 ds2 is a bigger game with more bosses
Yeah, just a more expansive game. If anything the hardest parts of DS2 are harder than anything in DS1.
@@jasonborotra4208tbh I found artorias and Manus way harder than any boss in ds2
Merry Christmas everyone.
In DS2 you level faster:
I was lvl 100 by halfway of DS2 and I finished DS1 at lvl 81.
Also in Dark Souls 2 higher bonfire areas will have increased drop chance from enemies.(the game does not tell you this)
Usually, it is best to farm gear in NG+2/bonefire 3. (item discovery+250)
To balance drop chance and kill speed.
Yes, Dark Souls 2 has the most tweaked NG+ cycles.
Had to stop reading cause of the spoiler warning (much appreciated) but I hear you on the levels, we get so much in this game 😈
Thank you for the tip dude, and the info 🙏🙏🙏
Merry Christmas Wuggs, hope you have a great day :)
You are correct, lighting those fires for the Lost Sinner brightened the arena and let you see, it also made your lockon range better, if they aren't lit, the area is super dark and she has to be really close to lock onto her.
Ahhh I thought so! Thanks for clearing that up 🙏 and I appreciate the ring tip too!
Love the Lucatiel simping. Her quest line is actually really wholesome. ***Her name is pronounced like "Loo-kaah-teel"***
Can’t help it my dude 🫡 and damn idk if I’ll be able to get that new pronunciation down 🤣
Great christmas gift :D Glædelig Jul from Denmark.
You have become a true adventurer, looking at every angle and corner.
You mentioned story a bit, and I wont get in to lore. But I can say that this game makes me feel like the story is more about the humans in the world, where ds1 was a story about gods and grand heroes.
You can kill the chariot with ranged without lowering the gate, and you get a different kill "scene" :)
and now that you have joined the covernant, try going up to the statues next to the little guy.
A tip for jumping and falling, if you want to avoid making a roll when you land, do a jump/fall attack, that will make your char do a "superhero" landing.
1:57:05 did you notice what dropped the smooth and silky stone ?
Ayyye Merry Christmas thank you dude 🥲 I’m loving it so far with some of these characters! Also no I didn’t notice where it came from 🤔🤔
@@Wuggernaut there is invisible hollows sitting around in the world, you can see them with a torch or find them by bumping into them as they are still physically there.
Another hidden thing ;)
👀👀👀
OMG you found my favorite place to hang out! Dark Souls 2 had the coolest covenant setup with the Blood Servants vs the Blue Sentinels. I really wish they continued this idea into the future games but sadly they have not.
I agree I like the rival covenant situation :D
I look forward to your uploads, please keep making content man 💪
I will! Thank you so much for the kind words 🙏🙏

Pretty sure the "visions of boss" message was 'cos the area looks a lot like where you fight capra in the first game. Narrow corridor style, stairs up the side, lil tunnel/alcove section... common tactic is to drop attack him
If you need a second bastard sword, I believe McDuff has you covered. He'll also sell you iron bolts and arrows.
Oh nice!
1:50:19 If you help the local economy by buying stuff from the merchant, he might be able to offer new things for you. And if things go very well for him, he might even help you out with a unique item set, if you are broke...
👀👀👀
You're uploading these videos earlier and earlier haha I remember staying up till 2 am to finish watching the DS1 uploads lol
Hahah I keep losing more and more patience 😂
“Look carefully” was suppose to make you fall for the ambush that you already avoided
Ahhhh gotcha 🙏
Pro tip for Harvest Valley: when poisoned, use 2 lifegems to counteract the poison. More economical than poison moss
Appreciate this dude!
Hahaha I would’ve loved to watch that 🤣 that’s one hell of a first attempt! And Merry Christmas to you too dude!
Ahh yes Ty! I definitely have to make a. Run back to this area, I think I may do it sometime after the 4 great souls :)

@@Wuggernaut I'm not even sure what he means, unless he's just referring to some bosses as hidden

Her
@retroshark8 Yeah, that would be cool.
2:04:28 classic wuggs xD
Dude true 💀💀💀
Damn dude that sounds like absolute hell💀
@Wuggernaut man it really is it turns estus flasks into a last resort heal cause you can't get them back also repairing items can only be done using a repair powder or a blacksmith and even fast traveling can't be done aside from homeward bones.
It was killing me you not looking in the map room. And it's not pat haha you met him digging in the floor when a ball rolled down. Merry Christmas

Hey thank you so much, and Merry Christmas! Absolutely I will be doing them all in release order 🤩🤩

14:41 In DS2, unlike the others, holding the weapon in two hands doubles your strength, it's easier to do the math, you only need half 😉
Hahah thank you for the clear up 😅🤦♂️

Trueee I need to utilize throwables better in these area run throughs
Story of the Lost Sinner is one of the most complex and intresting in DS2. It connects number of characters and locations from both DS2 and DS1 in order to complete and understand. Long story short hollowed body of the boss belonged to a character from Iron Keep location while soul and it's description refers to very important character from DS1(remember bug with a great soul) hence why male looking boss is refered to as female.
Sorry dude I can’t finish reading this, don’t wanna get spoiled 🙏

Merry Christmas!
I guess you get read it twice lol)
Merry Christmas
best death definitely goes to 2:04:30 LMAO
🤣🤣🤦♂️
But you're right about the sorcery creator, DS2 create his own lore at the same time it's showing the cycle repeat itself Wich throwback to ds1, as lost sinner and the other lords are linked to the old ones(can't tell how yet)
Hmmm, I’m excited to make the connection 🤔
Damn, that's some peak creativity!
Imho, 2 handing the Great Sword is more effective.
It has decent blocking stats, so you can use it as a shield.
The move-set just works better with 2 hands, especially for Crystal Lizards.
Whatever works for you, though, for certain.
Oh I didn’t even consider using it for blocking! I’ll keep this in mind for next episode thank you 🙏
@@Wuggernaut Bear in mind, the primary use for the Rose Blossom shield's stamina recovery is when 2 handing large right hand weapons as this commenter suggested, and blossom as left weapon on your back while 2 handing.
Ahhh...Now I understand why there are binoculars in the game. 👍 Merry Christmas.
🤣🤣 Merry Christmas!
For the love of gwyn, stop running away from items dropped by enemies. Its okay while you are in a fight, but you just straight up often just walk past them. It is getting to the point where you missed a shard, large shard and chunk from the crystal lizard you killed at 1:33:39.
@DragonAttack515 Yep... That kinda hurts me deep down. I think I'm one of those that people refer to as "loot gremlins"
You should try out the heavy attack combo with the greatsword. It's a bit different from other swords.
I forgot to do this! I definitely have to give it a go
GRANDMA!! MOSQUITO MAN UPLOADED AGAIN!!
🤣🤣🤣 I gotta stop making those noises 😂😂
Keeping someone safe is just your thing even if she died it won't die in the game
Time for the comment as always
Really good job Wuggs with that video and I see you found the binoculars (I hope Summer does not see this 😂😂)
However now the advice: Next area(s) will need a bit of preparation and help from a few friends in advance (think of the NPCs you have found till now) because it can be a bit brutal. You will also need to mangage your resources more carefully (humanities). Humanities will be very very important for later in the game so try to hang on to them and not spend them too often :)
With that said, a Merry Christmas to you and your family
Merry Christmas Pana! And thank you for the warning, I will have to take this to heart and prepare…
Also yes if Summer sees that I’m in trouble 🤣🤣
Merry Christmas, Wuggsy
Merry Christmas dude!
Merry Christmas to you and yours, Wuggs. May your stockings be full of dragon tooths (teeth?)!
Hahah thanks a bunch dude 😅 and Merry Christmas to you too!
Also, I can't let you keep living the brassiere life my guy. It's pronounced bray-zee-er :D Like "Wow that's pretty brazey, but it could be brazier". God speed.
god damn it, you call it out in the video. I'ma flip a table.
🤣🤣🤣
nice u enjoying not only the best souls like game, but also the best fashon souls game
I’m starting to realize how epic the fashion is!
Did you see it? On the floor of the basement in that house in Majula? ;)
You should go back and investigate..
👀👀🤔🤔🤔
Merry Christmas, just wanted to remind you of the bonfire you found down the hole in majula, if i didnt miss you go back to that i think you just forgot about it after finding the gutter, if not my bad.
Ty for the reminder, fellow Jaegerist 🫡
20:43 That's what he said.
👀😂😂
Love your videos but has anyone told you how many items you run over without picking. You are missing a ton of shards. You have done it in multiple areas. 1:33:53 in this video was a big one. Just trying to help. Can't wait for the next video.
Yeah I’m realizing this is a bad habit of mine 💀I’ll work on that, and thank you so much!
Great ❤ I really was expecting something to hold me at home today 😂
Hahaa you got it 😅
you need 25 strenght to weild the dragon tooth, its half the strenght you need with 2 hands in ds2
Ohhhhh okay ty! I wasn’t sure about that so Ty for the clear up
Ah, yes. The "Arse'd Sword." My favorite greatsword.
P.S. The Pursuer's ultra great sword is indeed an awesome choice of armaments! I used it extensively for one of my builds.
🤣🤣🤦♂️ and heck yeah! I can’t wait to use it… effectively 😈
Pat and Kratos, legendary DS NPCs!
FYI, you're confusing Pate with the Cartographer (his name escapes me at the moment.) You'll know Pate when you see him.
😂😂😅 and gooootcha, thank you 🙏
