I feel like scrolling should be right in between iPhone and Android scrolling. The iPhone one is too slow and the Android is nice because you don't have to move your finger much but reducing the speed would give more precision
For most website and social media apps, there’s a scroll bar on the right. A small white line, just hold it down and you’ll get a haptic feedback, then hold it and scroll down and it’ll scroll very fast and requires minimal effort since you don’t need to keep swiping up.
I don’t understand why you think it should be faster… do you just aimlessly scroll through websites and apps quickly without actually reading/watching the content?
being a pixel user its so addictive device bro... benchmarks only a number for gamers .... thankfuly there is no ios restrictions i can do whatever i want with my device
I feel like the difference between light apps doesn’t matter anymore. The processors on phones nowadays can instantly process those apps to the point where the difference of opening time is going to be less than a second between any phone and can result from factors like internet connectivity, app optimization, animations, and not opening the apps at the exact same time even if it looks like it is - we’re humans after all not machines. The real difference is going to show in heavy workloads. Apps and games that take a lot of processing to open or to use.
random thought, since you do so many speed tests, maybe you should do a speed test of two phones of the same model like iPhone 15 vs iPhone 15 as a control 🤔
The next video I really want to see is the regular 16 vs pixel 9 (I need to decide between the base phones). It would also be interesting to see if pixel finally caught up on the base models or not. Nick pls if have time make this speed test
It’s a tough choice because I want the best possible performance in both photos and videos on a smartphone. However, everywhere I turn, people keep telling me that the iPhone is the king of video, while the Pixel is the king of photography. It’s frustrating. Why isn’t there a device that excels at both, outperforming everyone else? It feels like each brand is perfecting only one area, leaving consumers like me having to compromise when what we really want is an all-in-one solution.
Faster and more powerful processors isn’t just useful for outright performance and computing power but also somewhat dictates how the device will hold up over the years and how long will it perform well which the pixels are notorious for. If I’m paying over a thousand dollars for a phone it better last for at least 5-6 years
I don't know. Shouldn't we wait for speed test until after October knowing that a major update is coming and was intended always for the 16 pro max ? I know Apple was goofy for not releasing the phone with the AI features, but the phone is like 2. 3's finished because of that to me.
Quick question, have you gone to develoeor settings on the pixel and changed the animation speed to 0.5 ? Pixels by default have a very slow animations which is completely different to loading speed of an app. Woudl love to see a comparions with and without the animation speed difference. Also i agree games prob are not a good comparison because its dependant on how well the developer has optimised it. Apple will always have great optimisation but android will always be a slower process based on market share of phones.
Make the same test with a 3 year old iphone and a 3 year old pixel, we will see how both perform with the latest software installed, an iphone 13 Pro Max runs ios 18 almost as fast as the 16 Pro Max, the longevity of an iphone has nothing to do with the amount of ram, stop spreading false informations! Apple has the best software support, period. Theres a reason why iphones have the better resell value..
Why are Apple devices superior in speed and smoothness, especially when it comes to games? It is surprising that there are excellent devices with the most powerful processors, but they do not outperform Apple devices! Where is the problem?
I like the pixel animations and it is fluid too, perhaps together with the one plus 12 of the most fluid. But I still say that the fluidity of iOS is incomparable.
15:14 not sure if we need a Snapdragon in the Pixel, as the Pixel Experience generally relies on the Tensor architecture. but, i do think that the next Tensor should bump up its performance and i think Google knows that, with transfering its manufacturing over to TSMC
I'm more interested in seeing what google is going to do with a fully custom chip manufactured by tsmc next year vs having a snapdragon. Who knows it could be better than snapdragon
I had Pixels 1-5 and then I jumped ship and got iPhone 13 Pro & 14 Pro. iOS is just not as good and not as user friendly. The keyboard sucks, and the notification system is annoying to live with. Now I cannot wait to go back to Android and get Pixel 9 Pro. I don't like big phones.
A good performance from pixel there. Nick i have a question relating to the internet speed of smartphones in general which is "when there is a website traffic which phone is the best at handling such situation. I mean loading the site faster.
Never liked the scrolling experience on android phones, I don’t know but scrolling on an iPhone just feels much more satisfying and realistic 😅 Same is the story with the overall animations on both of them

Benchmarks measure the potential longevity of a phone based on current performance rankings. I've never heard of a Pixel lasting over five years without complications.
The Pixel is a fantastic smartphone and a formidable competitor to the iPhone. However, the iPhone consistently outperforms it in various aspects, including overall user experience, reliability, feel, and performance. While the Pixel may have its strengths, the iPhone remains in its own league. Yes, the iPhone may have some shortcomings, but it’s undeniable that Apple is truly the Apple 🍎 of the mobile phone industry. 😊Nice video, Nick! Keep it coming. Much love, ❤from Nigeria, 🇳🇬 Africa, 🌍
Apple no multitasking even the most basic of Android phones has multitasking. 60hz displays, limited Ram, and limited customisation. Every year a lack of true Innovation. Apple need to start moving ahead again, I love Apple but they have been sitting on their laurels for far too long.
Signal drops have improved over the 7 and 8 but the heat stays well controlled after initial setup and phone has adapted although under extended use multitasking and gaming, I'd feel i need to slap a case on it in those scenarios
For normal usage, the iphone's scroll seems calibrated well. It accelerates nicely when needed, while being smooth. The Android is full throttle all the time. I mean if apple wanted to they could go 10X speed all the time, but not much point to it.
I think doing the speed test in this day in age is kind of pointless any flagship phone after 2022 is pretty much the same thing there's alot of upgrades when it comes to camera and screen brightness maybe the feel in the hand
Seems to me that with 8gigs on the iphone outperforms the 16gigs of the Pixel Pro XL. The issue is that in my personal experience iphones have a better OS and it blends superbly with the apple eco system. I purchased the Pixel 9 Pro XL and I still have my 15 Pro Max and i find myself using the iphone 15 pro max due to the iOS system... But im going to return the Pixel 9 and go back to Apple 🍏 😊😂
You may not notice a big difference in day to day to usage now, but the bad thing with Google's chip is that it's not future proof. And Google promises 7 years of OS upgrades. I don't think that chip is gonna last that much without big decrease in performance
Think it will be just fine for day to day smartphone use for a while. pixel 7 and 8 both do just fine for typical smartphone use still now. Also G4 chip scores around 1940 single core 4750 multi core in geekbench when it hasn't been put through bench marks , multiple games at the same time and app after app which you wont typically be doing. In normal and in typical apps you need short burst of processing and you will get performance closer to that 1900+ single core score in normal use. Keep in mind the G4 is using same cpu cores as a snapdragon 8 gen 3. Its just clocked a little lower and probably throttles harder to stay cool due to samsung's manufacturing process vs tsmc for snapdragon
I hate 20:9 aspect ratio . It make phone narrow and long especially for smaller variants like regular pixel 9 or pixel 8. I don’t need long screen. it’s only beneficial if I watch a movie but If I just watch youtube video with 16:9 aspects ratio ,the width of the phone are to narrow and I couldn’t afford the bigger version of the phone

I Switch from iPhone 13 Pro Max with Apple Watch Ultra 2 too Pixel 9 Pro XL and Pixel Watch 3 45mm 👍 I use Apple für 2 Years and i Go back too Android. Sorry for bad english my Mother lang is german😅 best wishes from Germany ✌️
Great review!!!😮😅😊
i got a base s23 but i need that pixel fold asap 😵💫
I feel like scrolling should be right in between iPhone and Android scrolling. The iPhone one is too slow and the Android is nice because you don't have to move your finger much but reducing the speed would give more precision
Uhmm you can simply scroll slower in android. 🤷🤷
IPhone scrolling is toooo slooow. I have an iPhone and this is a very annoying thing 😬
It’s trade off of being smooth and 60hz😅
For most website and social media apps, there’s a scroll bar on the right. A small white line, just hold it down and you’ll get a haptic feedback, then hold it and scroll down and it’ll scroll very fast and requires minimal effort since you don’t need to keep swiping up.
I don’t understand why you think it should be faster… do you just aimlessly scroll through websites and apps quickly without actually reading/watching the content?
@@TiredMikee yep, when I search for something I need fast scrolling. My thoughts and fingers are faster than iOS
being a pixel user its so addictive device bro... benchmarks only a number for gamers .... thankfuly there is no ios restrictions i can do whatever i want with my device
You have 9 videos of the iPhone 16 pro max can you move on to the other models
There is a lot of face offs, other models are coming next week
I feel like the difference between light apps doesn’t matter anymore. The processors on phones nowadays can instantly process those apps to the point where the difference of opening time is going to be less than a second between any phone and can result from factors like internet connectivity, app optimization, animations, and not opening the apps at the exact same time even if it looks like it is - we’re humans after all not machines. The real difference is going to show in heavy workloads. Apps and games that take a lot of processing to open or to use.
I like scrolling in Pixels devices super fast I love that
Excellent video
Whats the point of a bigger display when they're not going to put split screen multitasking
Nick bro do you still have the fold 4?
random thought, since you do so many speed tests, maybe you should do a speed test of two phones of the same model like iPhone 15 vs iPhone 15 as a control 🤔
The next video I really want to see is the regular 16 vs pixel 9 (I need to decide between the base phones). It would also be interesting to see if pixel finally caught up on the base models or not.
Nick pls if have time make this speed test
Tell me about that Pixel lock screen. What do you have on it?
Please turn off the animation in pixel and try it .Actually iphone dont shows the animation of application but android shows that
It’s a tough choice because I want the best possible performance in both photos and videos on a smartphone. However, everywhere I turn, people keep telling me that the iPhone is the king of video, while the Pixel is the king of photography. It’s frustrating.
Why isn’t there a device that excels at both, outperforming everyone else? It feels like each brand is perfecting only one area, leaving consumers like me having to compromise when what we really want is an all-in-one solution.
that dynamic island is an eyesore, do people actually use it ?
Faster and more powerful processors isn’t just useful for outright performance and computing power but also somewhat dictates how the device will hold up over the years and how long will it perform well which the pixels are notorious for. If I’m paying over a thousand dollars for a phone it better last for at least 5-6 years
I don't know. Shouldn't we wait for speed test until after October knowing that a major update is coming and was intended always for the 16 pro max ? I know Apple was goofy for not releasing the phone with the AI features, but the phone is like 2. 3's finished because of that to me.
I will run some back with that update
The iPhone interface is incomparable
Pixel would be the only smartphone i have not used for now. I had iPhones and now since years already Samsung and quite happy with it.
The 16 Pro Max has awful ergonomics and doesn’t take advantage of the extra screen real estate at all
How come the pixel is better than other android phones for posting to Instagram?
Because it’s Google. Apps are customized for it
@@konceited704but it’s android, so if insta optimize it will happen to all, only pixels UI is not exclusive skin 😅
@@naruto6918 It will happen eventually. But as of now app’s optimization is way better on pixel
@@naruto6918 well.. pixel's skin is much more optimized than other skins.
Google Pixel 9 Pro XL with 12GB of RAM is why it is better than iPhone 4GB or 6GB and it's gonna have Android 15 rocking.
Yk when you start the test keep track on the Bettery level and after the test check how the both phones managed the power
Just switched to the iPhone 16 pm from a pixel 8 pro, wtf happened to the photo gallery? 😑😑😑
Seems like they have you in a chokehold.
Why are you so triggered lol??
Why are Apple devices superior in speed and smoothness, especially when it comes to games? It is surprising that there are excellent devices with the most powerful processors, but they do not outperform Apple devices! Where is the problem?
I like the pixel animations and it is fluid too, perhaps together with the one plus 12 of the most fluid. But I still say that the fluidity of iOS is incomparable.
Yes iOS fluidity is unmatched, but it is also slower. So it balances it’s job😅
For pubg, pixel was downloading something from the internet
If your sensitive to it, you can clearly see micro stuttering on the pixel. Same for latest Samsungs.
15:14 not sure if we need a Snapdragon in the Pixel, as the Pixel Experience generally relies on the Tensor architecture. but, i do think that the next Tensor should bump up its performance and i think Google knows that, with transfering its manufacturing over to TSMC
In some of apps you are wrong
Right is faster but you say left
I think you tend to say iphone is faster
Only compare games not apps.. It’s all about Internet so don’t compare Social Media Apps
This is not a gaming test
And one more thing pixel using android 15 , it's rocking 😎 👌.
its running 14
@@codylujan you can opt in for 15 and battery is great so smooth and they updated camera 2
Never liked the scrolling experience on android phones, I don’t know but scrolling on an iPhone just feels much more satisfying and realistic 😅
Same is the story with the overall animations on both of them
waiting 16 pro max vs 11 pro max
Skipping Google's offering this go around. Going to need them to upgrade from the G4.
Pixel rom is the besf os
Even better than one ui
wait till ios 18 gets an optimization update💀
Lol you sound painful to say the iPhone wins, but when the Pixel slacks a little you have some sort of excuse saying “oh it could be due to this or that” 🤦🏽♂️
I don't know why I don't even think about buying an iphone till now.... currently I'm using S21Fe and I'm thinking about upgrading to Pixel 9 but I couldn't even think about Iphone 16...
If only Pixel used a powerful chip such as Snapdragon or Dimensity. They will surely dominate the market in the android system.
If you toggle on the screen sensitivity option, the fingerprint scanner will stay visible when phone is locked.
Worse chipset, 6.8 narrow screen and thick bezels. They will learn eventuallly they have to be better. No one is falling for the AI smokescreen and paid advertisements.
Soon it's just the router that makes the speed difference.
Its 2024. Benchmarks are irrelevant. Real world performance is the only thing that matters.
Benchmarks actually showcase the raw power for example the 3D mark will give you an idea of how smooth the graphics will run on heavier games
@@nickackermanchanneldoesn’t benchmarks do weird test like 8k ,100k rendering, htm ,js test , bla bla, which people rarely use any apps working on that.😮
Benchmarks measure the potential longevity of a phone based on current performance rankings. I've never heard of a Pixel lasting over five years without complications.
Hey Nick, Can you set the animation duration to 0.5x on the Pixel and redo this speed test. I feel 0.5x makes Pixel very snappy.
Apple need to start moving ahead again, I love Apple but they have been sitting on their laurels for far too long.
sure buddy, you can't even torrent on iOS.😂
@@garycornhouse4276 so you think Apple can’t make their phones multitask?
Iphones are limited. You cant even do true multitasking. Crazy for a phone over $1300.
@@Mickieshelton crazy powerful but you have to wait with the window open until an email sends. IOS is an abomination.
Nick what is your experience with pixel's overheating and signal drops ?
Signal drops have improved over the 7 and 8 but the heat stays well controlled after initial setup and phone has adapted although under extended use multitasking and gaming, I'd feel i need to slap a case on it in those scenarios
I’m happy with iPhone, it’s so reliable but I’m kinda bored and I wanna try the Pixel 9 pro. But I tried it in store and it was so laggy I can’t…
For normal usage, the iphone's scroll seems calibrated well. It accelerates nicely when needed, while being smooth. The Android is full throttle all the time. I mean if apple wanted to they could go 10X speed all the time, but not much point to it.
Well you get habituated to both of them, it's not a big deal. In a month you'd know exactly how much to scroll to get wherever you want.
I had iPhone 16 pro max
I think doing the speed test in this day in age is kind of pointless any flagship phone after 2022 is pretty much the same thing there's alot of upgrades when it comes to camera and screen brightness maybe the feel in the hand
That’s fine, thanks for sharing :)
Look at the home screens. All the app icons on the pixel have the app names truncated …. While the iPhone the app names are almost all complete.
The google chips can't compete with the iphone chips yet, but Samsung's slaying!
