message splitted up for unknown reasons, i've written to all of their members but i havent got any answer. vocalist didier brutus with jean philippe lavalee are playing in medieval band sikinis and olivier balet in something like american western rock band, i dont remember its name. There are known seven message songs and lyrics only to one of them, to derniere nuit. imo this is the best cold wave band ever and i would give everything to hear derniere nuit live
I notice people talking about how little there is of Message here, so I might as well tell what I know: They are from Brive, France. Formed 1984, disbanded 1990. Released one single (Dernière Nuit) in 1988. A demo tape was produced in 1988 as well, it features two untitled tracks, Strange Voice, and The Crazy Garden (b-side to Dernière Nuit) They had a couple songs on various compilations, such as L’ Appel de Muse. The compilation tracks are: Cendres et Larmes (live??) The Grave Strange Voice all 3 of these tracks were made between 1987-1989 Didier Brutus and Jean-Philippe Lavallée are in a band called Sikindis, Olivier Balet is in “Gecko Palace”
This mix is really good 👌🏾. KaS Product, Opéra de Nuit and Deux are some of my favorite bands. The song of Deux is more electronic and sounds a lot like the 2000s cold wave scene but they also did songs that sound more like primary cold wave sound : "Europe" and "Paris/Orly". Do you know Excès Nocturne, a cold wave band with more post-punk influences? "Le Soleil s'est noyé", "L'Écho des Lumières", and "L'Or A" are some songs that are really cool :)
Little Nemo and Asylum Party are both included in my newer coldwave video. Though, I’m less of a fan of the touching pop bands than I am of the more electropunk-like coldwave sound of earlier French bands.

I really like Witching Hour (UK), Suspiria, She Past Away, Lebanon Hanover, Martin Dupont and Opera de Nuit. They're probably the bands I've listened to the most in the past year or so. My favourites always seem to shift every couple of years.
Zaye Kepas That’s a tricky question. They were essentially part of the French coldwave scene, and they do have a goth side because of that. They also released some more new wave sounding stuff that’s not necessarily goth. They’re one of those bands that can fit into goth playlists depending on the song. They were definitely influential in pioneering the coldwave/minimalwave stuff (along with other bands in France) that would be drawn on by later goth groups though.
