  • RenderMan 26 is now live with an interactive denoiser available for Katana. Production-proven, the new interactive denoiser in RenderMan 26 delivers fast feedback for production scenes, featuring innovative technology driven by machine learning. This enables you to produce even higher-quality images with less rendering time, making it an incredibly valuable tool for any artist or production team.

on foundry modo it works badly, the Grid is not stable, the best Grid also for movements and that of 3ds max because it is very stable on movements and also comfortable.

No, it is not geared for the single user. Katana was really made for bigger shops with a tons of shot lighting sequences. more like 100-1000 shots or more easly for bigger studios to batch process a series of shots. As well as having a technical director to oversee any issues when building templates etc...Not to say smaller shops cant benefit from it, There are a ton of smaller shops using Katana. However, for a single artist it would be very tedious for you to render out single shots on your home machine, you would be better off rendering with Maya (Arnold) whichever software you use for animations. There is also Renderman for Maya if that is what you use for your DCC.

Keep going on Maya with Arnold, but switch you system to Linux (Rocky 8.6 or 9 ). Maya works 10 times faster on Linux, you won't have lagg in between your shader editor and Arnold in real time. ON windows you loose performances. Arnold on Linux maya rendering 20 % faster as well. Renderman and maya on Linux are beasts. Cheers.

Pixar Renderman gave up on actually improving their render engine, so now, they promote how we can hide the real result with their "super" denoiser...

OMG... you better tell the 100s of studios that use it and do amazing work with it that they are silly for using it. Go on hurry.
