Don't forget to put stickers (spacer strips of wood) between your planks for air drying and remember green wood will shrink as it dries. Was just going to write "Comment" for the win, but realized nobody had mentioned stickers and shrinkage.
Great job, I see you found the trick to picking the trailer up and letting it down to even it up. another tip if you need it, put a block under the side with the biggest gap, it will help close it up, also you mite want to cut some metal blocks to fit under the top pins in case you ever need more ground clearance
Ah, the swan neck trailer, not goose neck !!! OK,that is what we call them on this side of the pond...😉 nothing like on the job training to really get to know the little idiosyncrasies of the swan neck !!! And you didn't pull any fittings apart, now that my friend is a winner!!! Trailer appears to have more usable space too, tag axle will make a big difference to load distribution, keep Officer Hoover happy 😁 Fantastic you have the use of the sawmill through September, this will be another learning curve, I'm sure you will have hours of fun and torment in equal measures until you master it !! Can see plenty of cutting making its way into future videos, looking forward them Sir 👍😁💪🇬🇧🇺🇸
Awesome job loading and uploading. You will get used to it. Remember to keep the truck straight when dropping the trailer. Two semi trailers opens a door for an other truck. Love the videos
Well done on the truck and trailer! Just a thought. You can(if DP wants to) load and unload an excavator from the side without disconnecting the tractor from the trailer. Bulldozers must disconnect. Food for thought. Respectfully, Kevin
Learned a lot more about low boy. Got the welder and no scrap metal was safe. Now no tree will be safe with The Woodland. Rough cut lumber and spotty welds all over the place👍
Nice trailer the first half dozen times I pulled one I was triple checking every thing to make sure I had my process down and the saw mill is awesome. Looking forward to more content on both
Gr8 video nice cowboy cn green on trailer but all good know wat it is but gr8 content so glad u got sawmill and going back to 2 videos a week can't wait God bless.
Keep up with the good work u do Captain and everything will work out keep ur head up like ur doing and keep on making the videos and I'll keep on watching them
5:55 the look that says it all Run on from 23:05 and there's a lot of flex in the crossmember the arm is attached too though Mr DP might want to check.
Captain also when hooking up to the trailer and saving you time from having to readjust the tractor what I do is pick the trailer up with the neck all the way up and set it back down most of the time this will get you the difference that’s needed just some helpful tips buddy
If the hooks are not perfect square when u hook back up, keep pin unlocked and lift gooseneck up off ground, put back down and it should re-set trailer square. Might have to do twice. Then set pin try locking again
One thing I learned to do was when you unhook, pull straight forward, don’t turn at all. Should be able to back straight up and be right on. Little bump if you aren’t and it should straighten it out. Just don’t ram it to hard lol rather pull with one of them anyday. Glad to see all is well capt!
Your maiden voyage went well now I’m really curious to see DP’s maiden voyage (in October) to see his. 😉 I’m sure you’ll love the “new” trailer and no pressure from Clint with the sawmill.
WOW great video! Hope that some people put it in their list of saved content. Never know when those trailer steps come in handy. AND you give us the sawmill delivery! So FUN! Hope this video gets you 40K subs. SO CLOSE. Cheers!
Little tip I found works well if your not quite straight pick the trailer up a little and set it back down it’ll help straighten it out. Doesn’t always work but when your close it does
Some tricks that helped me with the detachable goose, when you’re backing up to reattach line the fenders of truck to the outside of the last piece of wood on the deck. ( where it’s next to metal on the outside of the trailer if that makes sense) or find another reference that if you line it up it’ll get you straight. Also one thing I do just so I don’t forget, once I check the pin is locked and before I mess with anything else I hook the lines up and work my way forward. Just a routine I got into. Great video!!
lol your gone a box yourself in a few times until your get used to head loading and not tail loading! and ALLWAYS do a double check on the goose neck connections. Big thumbs up to Clint as that mill is sweet, gone a be watching to how you get on with it and that may well be the next bit of kit we look at buying too. great vid, lots of variety.
I like the new trailer!!! Used a different type of detach MAKE SURE THAT THE AIR & ELECTRIC LINE DOT,T POP OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It happened to me and I ran over the lines with a roller needless the company wasn't happy about it!!!!!!!!!! That mill should be a great help!!
Wow. So much happening. You have a good friend to let you use his sawmill. Hope this leads to you getting your own. The new trailer is sweet. Some of your past work locations have been challenging to access, it will be interesting to see how the new trailer performs. Really looking forward to seeing the projects you have coming up. Stay safe
I would have to get a bright color wrap for the trailer brakes and light so it wouldn't be easily missed. Something to always catch your eye while going through the process.
Once again, great job backing miles down the road with a longer trailer, based on the position of the wheels. Is milling next or something else on the homestead? I do have an idea for your arch, but I will wait and see what you do. Have good days!
Take your time, always think it will get hung up maybe stage a sledge and pry bar ....many have lost toes and booger hookers because of slight pressure on the system due to the lay of the land.
Excellent driving skills. I was staggered by the number of controls on the trailer. I was the flag car for moving a JD combine from Vandalia, IL to the IL-Iowa border last year. It was the same style trailer but I didn't observe all the connections and adjustments. That combine was 15'8" wide and 15'8" high but not that heavy.
Get yourself in a routine with that RGN trailer. The 2 things to remember is the lines and the flapper that lifts the neck. Make sure Mike puts a repair kit together for the lines trust me even a guy that has been running one for awhile will get rushed or distracted and break them ( usually happens on a day with crappy weather) Also I was taught not to chain down till you pick up the trailer from a guy that I worked for, due to it can effect the bow in the trailer when you lift it chained. Same with letting it down take the tension off the chains first.
salut mon beau Cap
Wow, That’s a lot to remember!!!😜
Don't forget to put stickers (spacer strips of wood) between your planks for air drying and remember green wood will shrink as it dries. Was just going to write "Comment" for the win, but realized nobody had mentioned stickers and shrinkage.
Yup! Already have some cut up and ready to go! Thanks for looking out sir!
Great job Captain. God bless
Thank you sir!
You did a great job with the new lowboy trailer & backing it up too. Sawmill is going to be a gift from heaven.
Thank you!
@@CaptainKleeman Main thing with a mill is to stabilize the frame, so it does not move.
It's so nice to have good friends that you can count on to help you out. Nuff said.
Great friends!

Haha I have full faith it's in good hands!
That is why DP said about putting a new location for the speed loaders & binders ….. new low boy 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧 well done Capt

trailer looks nice
Sure is!

Mike doesn’t want us to side load yet.
@@CaptainKleeman I’m sure he wants a few scratches on her first.
A good day for captain kleman
Indeed!
Love it. You can handle it. You got it
Appreciate the support!
Hillarious! I asked about a year ago why DP didn’t have a lowboy,, your response was, “it wouldn’t work for his application”
He didn’t have a need for it then. Things change
Exciting to see the new trailer in action. And anxious to see the reveal on 8/10.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for accentuating my ignorance, Bud! Great learningness on your end. :-)

It probably took ALLOT to give that mill back to him. 🥺 So many possibilities with one of those!
Good luck with the mill.
Thank you!
Great use of the time lapse and nice backing skills!
U did that like a pro my friend good job for ur first time

@@CaptainKleeman I know y'all r, make all kind of stuff now
Coming together Mike well done you will have us glued to your channel
you make a good channel mi capitan - fun to watch - always something going on.
Lots of learning curves for sure especially with the sawmill.
Excited to learn!
Looks like DP can make some temporary Shims on the top pins to gain a bit more front end ground clearance as well as the rear suspension.
There are some in the trailer. Forgot to show those.
That was a close one good catch
Thanks!
You have a great channel and content. The knowledge you have is great. Sense of humor is awesome. Oh mylanta! Lol
Thanks for the kind words!

I've watched so many videos on the detach lowboys and never seen them explained this fully. Glad to finally see how one works.

Hey thanks for watching!
I really liked that you demonstrated how that trailer works, thank you for posting!
Hey thanks for watching!
Captain great video, new equipment takes a little getting used to! Thanks for sharing. Kevin
Thanks for watching Kevin!
Back in my day [80's] we called that trailer a drop deck a lot has changed in the design over the 4 decades all for the better and have fun sawing
Only problem with borrowing someone’s mill is it will make you want one so much more once you see how much fun they are. Enjoy making your lumber.
You’re right about that! Thanks for watching
First time I have seen all the steps to use low boy.
Hope you enjoyed!

working out great on the lowboy and going to be great with the saw mill. thanks captain.

You can also side load using the goose neck. But the deck should be fully lowered
Mike doesn’t want me to except with the 304.
