    Fun detail: the hexagonal tiles in the exit go from oversized to normal-sized after the glasses drop-off, showing that the guests have returned to human size. It's less clear where the guests "shrink"; however, it may be a mirror of the drop-off, and take place after the glasses pick-up.

    For those saying it's underwhelming:
    1. You're watching a video, you're not there in person so the experience is of course different
    2. You're viewing it through the lenses that every Disney ride has to be Rise of the Resistance
    If you changed your perspective and give the ride a chance, you'd realize that a C-ticket like this one is what Epcot needs. If anything, the park needs more C-tickets for the World Showcase. An area that LACKS rides. And the fact they kept the French dialogue is a sign of inclusion. They're showing that they want to represent the countries accurately. As we see with HarmonioUS, which will feature different languages. Remember, Epcot is meant to be a WORLD EXPO so the languages of these countries deserve to be featured as its a part of what makes that country, that country. As a polyglot, hearing French makes me want to further learn the language, it's a beautiful language to listen to that's satisfying for the ears

      These characters live and work in Paris, obviously they would speak French. The characters in the movie do use some french words and phrases, but they can't break out in French because the audience has to understand what is going on and little kids can't read subtitles. For the ride they could speak French the whole time and it wouldn't matter in the least you would know what is happening for the sake of the ride.

    • @RyanKershaw

      I read something somewhere a while back saying that the 5 minutes total of video originally used for the ride in Disneyland Paris, which was in 3D & 8K resolution, took them 8 times as long as the original movie to render.
      So my guess is that they didn’t want to spend the time on reanimating the lip syncing to the English audio and having to render again!
      Oh well, I think it will engross us into the French theme at Epcot more!

    So Florida got a much better queue line overall with more scenes…Paris’ was meant to get an extended queue but that got cut in the end.
    The ride though is 100% a clone. I’ve seen people complaining that they left the french in but all it is is repetition of what was said in English with the exception of the 2nd to last restaurant scene (where the champagne explodes) which is all in french but they’re mainly just listing off dishes anyway.
    I think Disney made the right choice or they would’ve had to reanimate everything to cut out the french audio. I don’t get why they kept the pre show scene In French though. They could’ve looped the English audio twice.
    Would’ve been nice to see the restaurant at the end like Paris and I think they missed a trick there! It’s really cool being in the unload area and seeing the rat-sized restaurant behind glass panes.
    We’ll see how popular this ends up being. Probably very popular, due to Epcot’s lack of rides. Personally I think it isn’t worth the waits it gets in Paris (2h on peak days). It’s cute but not a must do.

    • @0dylan
      @0dylan 3 года назад +5

      I feel the same way. It doesn't seem like a cool enough ride for a virtual queue to be needed. Seems like a decent attraction but not top teir like FOP, ROTR, or Mine Train. Once guardians of the Galaxy opens I think this attraction will probably settle in the middle teir of popularity.

    • @lightyear999
      @lightyear999 3 года назад +1

      Agreed. This is not really an e-ticket attraction, even though it has the supposed scope of one. It’s trying to be immersive but, except for the scene running through the walls, the screens don’t fill your field of view. You can see the stationary floor, for example. This blows the effect. An amateur mistake. Not like Disney to do this.

      Keeping the French audio is thematically appropriate--and for *some* visitors it's an accommodation! Why take the French out of the France pavilion? There's no real reason to take it out, though I expected them to.
      I do think that, as primarily a screen ride, this is less impressive than it could have been. But for Epcot it's not bad.

    • @lautrufend
      @lautrufend 3 года назад +1

      @@MattMcIrvin Agree, this is in the France pavilion so it’s supposed to be themed like you’re actually in France. The international feel is spot on. Also, it might not be an E ticket attraction, and not everything has to be, but it’s going to be mobbed especially when it first opens… so they definitely needed to plan ahead for queues and virtual queuing.
