      South Africa is the most developed black country in the whole world. The 39th (out of 205 countries) richest country in the world and the richest and most developed in Africa followed by Egypt. South Africans are complainers and that's because they don't travel. When you travel you appreciate this country so much when you come back whether you've gone to the States or in Congo.

    That guy you were asking recommendation for snacks is definitely not South African.
    Also we speak more politely here in South Africa. When we ask for something we say "can i please have" not "I want this" or "give me that" like you were asking those employees at Spar, That is seen as being rude and i know thats not your intention, but just be mindful of that especially when speaking to elders.
    But on a positive note, im glad that you always greet people first which is very important. Most Americans who are here doing these vlogs just speak to people or just ask for help without greeting first which is not a good look in South Africa

      @philanidladla3406 2 месяца назад +5

      @@nleddie I'm curious of what do you normally hear about Durban..
      I was born and raised there but currently living in Joburg.
      The contraversy about Durban is more political then anything.
      It's located in the province of KwaZulu-Natal, home of the Zulu tribe aka the majority and most dominant in SA.
      Zulus are known for their pride in their heritage and how patriotic they are, so they might be often misunderstood and to be frank even other SAn have mixed feelings about them, as a Zulu myself it's something I've never fully understood but grown to accept.
      In the recent past Durban was known as the "playground" of SA where locals (SAn) can go for a very affordable holiday/vacation.
      Ever since CPT has been locally governed by the DA (Damocratic Alliance) a mostly white political party, they been trying to promote a mini smear campaign against DBN to get its local tourist market since they are both coastal cities.
      I won't lie CPT is a great city, the pride of SA actually, but there are some things they can't beat DBN on.. Like the weather (no winter over there), people, vibe, diversity, how layed back it is, culture, and how SAn it feels there.
      I won't even mention crime because crime is across the board in SA but you being from LA I'm sure you can handle yourself.
      But yeah.. If you wanna be absolutely blown away about how beautiful Sub-Saharan Africa can be, go to Cape Town.. If you want some African culture and a level of beauty, comfort and relaxation go to Durban.
      But you can always do both.. If both is what you want save Durban for last.
