South Africa is a land of contrasts, beauty, and challenges-a place where breathtaking landscapes meet deep cultural history. In this video, I share the one big reason I decided to move here, along with some honest reflections about what makes South Africa incredible... and why it might not be the right fit for everyone.
Whether you're drawn to vibrant city life, quiet escapes, or a blend of the two, South Africa has something unique to offer. But moving here isn’t just about the postcard views-it's about embracing the complexities of the country and figuring out what kind of life you want to create.
Join me as I explore what brought me here and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. If you're thinking about moving to South Africa or are simply curious about life here, this is a journey worth taking.

It's refreshing to see a RUclipsr who isn't putting on an act and exaggerating expressions. You can just be yourself, put together editing like this with exceptional footage and feeling to it. Great to see
Wow I really appreciate that, thank you
Yes I agree.
Dude did his homework about our country, and he's inspired by the diverse lifestyle Mzasi offers - Boss you're welcome!!!
Thank you! I've tried my best and still learning
@@Frankiewithacamenjoy, you are one of us. ❤
I wish we could only attract clean, introspective,GOD fearing, intelligent individuals/collectives like this gentleman🧐❤🇿🇦
Wow thank you! 😄
I have to concur with this. I, for one, don't necessarily mind the influx of us citizens into our country. What I DO mind however is when some bring into our country their unsavory behaviors. As South Africans we are trying to clean up our society from the mess that american liberalism influence has left on our youth. The last thing we need is an influx of those who encourage such degeneracy.
There are many American Christians (& prophets) who have talked about how God revealed to them that the US is mystery Babylon of Revelstions. And as any Christian knows mystery Babylon will be judged harshly by God for the evils its committed and how it influenced the world with its corruptions. And since we are in the end times where the whole world will be judged, the last thing any country needs is to be under God's judgment for having copied the ways of mystery Babylon. The Bible says that if you don't want to be judged along with her we must come out of her - not just physically but also come out of copying her ways. South Africa at the moment is tangled too much with the ways of the US and as a result we are primed for God's judgment when He starts judging the world. Unless as a nation we repent and start to return to God and our cultures. The last thing we need is for the modern day Babylonians to bring more of their Babylon ways to our country.
But I welcome those who are fleeing Babylon because they themselves are God fearing Christians who don't agree with the US ways of doing things
@MlungisiCiti u so gullible or you are being sarcastic...they have umgobolo it's in thier dna...from west africa and America...there's not God fearing in them
Say THAT again!! Climb on to the mountains and tell it to the world 😂😂😂
Yeah, not those drug dealers who want to destroy our youth and our country.
Welcome to South Africa 🇿🇦
Thanks!
i love the cinematography and how you portrayed SA is beautiful light with the sound and camera :) it definitely gives off that ASMR type of video, very soothing xx
Thank you glad you enjoyed it!
They feel more comfortable here, coz it's where their ancestors are from,Home is home.welcom home brother.South Africa loves you
Thank you for this 🙏🏾
They are originally from west africa, ghana venin nigeria, not SA it not their home. West africa is thier homec
Remember that there were no boarders in africa @@lovedlover2667
@lovedlover2667 I'm Zulu and my DNA pointed to west Africa, am only 20% Southern Africa, we're all from all over Africa, just do your DNA too, AAs also have Southern African DNA, they can settle anywhere they please or feel comfortable

Hey , the spirit of ubuntu lives on..SA is Love in a bottle...despite all the challenges . Welcome to SouthA..as we say it proudly
I appreciate you
@@obelletz yeah but we know in the US it is expensive to live there
Your videography is incredible, you captured the feelings and emotions so vividly
All that's missing is the tastes ans smells, thanks for shining our country in such a positive light,🙏🏽
Thanks a lot, I'm working on more food videos as well 🙏
Thanks bro. It is no secret that SA has its unique problems (which country has no problems?) but we are happy people. Enjoy Mzansi❤
Absolutely, my focus is to highlight the positive
And for me, having lived in Europe and in the US, our sheer joy that transcends even difficult times, our ability to make light of things that would break other nations and people, that is the best part of being South African.
I watch a lot of short videos that are posted by Pa-les-tinians on RUclips and always marvel at their resilience and ability to find little bits and pockets of joy in the most dire situation, and I recognise that. We never lost our joy during apartheid either and that is what helped us to endure and prevail. We also never lost our ubuntu and never allowed ourselves to hate, we just wanted to be free and to be left alone to have life more abundantly.
We have abundant life here. We don’t want stress.
Lovely video, so glad you feel this way about South Africa!
I appreciate that!
Proudly South African🇿🇦
🇿🇦
Thank you for a positive analysis about our country. I can feel the level of genuine respect you have for our country, as a young man I commend you for that. Hopefully other young men will learn from you unlike coming to our country wanting to push a certain narrative and disresoecting5SA wone5by so doubg tve whole country coz Ilk tell you for free we value respect. As you rightfully observed we respect people simply because they are fellow human beings
Thanks so much, yeah I want to make sure I don't add to the negative things that have been spread about SA and that I showcase the greatness here. People have shown so much respect and love
thanks for the good content. you can't beat the SA vibe, fresh air, clean supermarkets and largest malls. the peace of mind you get here. i moved here 24 years ago and i traveled over 40 counties nothing beats SA . i just came back from a 3 years none stop travelling of the Carribean.i traveled 15 Carriben ilands in 3 years . people don't laugh there with strangers, bad customer service, bad weather, bad food, extreemly expensive etc. i experienced different cultures and no where you can blend in easily like SA
Thank you, wow tons of traveling, yeah SA offers everything I would want from a place
Thank you for speaking so well about our Country. It's not perfect but it is home.
Glad you enjoyed it, absolutely
As a born-and-raised South African who came to the US to study, I think you've adequately explained what I've been trying to express to people I come across on my campus and in the community. While I'm very grateful for the experiences and opportunities I've been afforded here in the US, I always look forward to going home over the holidays, not just to see my family, but also to be refreshed and recharged by that one-of-a-kind Mzansi culture. While I do plan on maximizing my time and opportunities in the US, the long-term plan has always been to find my way back home! #mzansi4sho!
Definitely capitalize in the opportunities state-side and hope you make a smooth return
You really get a true feeling for who we are if you watch a springbok game in a pub or venue with your fellow saffas. We love each other deep down. We love that we are who we are. Our differences and multiple cultures make us so much more emotionally intelligent and understanding. We also all struggle together. Welcome to our beautiful country and pls make it your home. ❤🇿🇦
Definitely, thanks for welcoming me 😁
Really enjoyed your documentary if I can call it as such.
Well put together, much love ,.
Thanks a lot, glad you enjoyed it
Best description of South Africa that i have seen

Welcome to South Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦, my brother. While our country is facing many challenges at the moment, there is still so much hope that we can overcome them. The spirit of *ubuntu* remains alive, and our faith in humanity is far from lost. Much love and welcome home❤️.
Absolutely and thank you so much 🇿🇦
Welcome to my city, my country. Happy to have you. 😉

Nice vid my dude great footage ! Welcome to SA! I think your video is a great message to the people of our country. The more I travel the more I miss home and enjoy coming back to SA.
Thank you! 😃
Beautiful video. Welcome to SA. Happy to have you here.🙏
Thank you! 😃
This was a high quality video, you can tell this wasn't just thrown into a YT page. The shots, sound (I enjoyed hearing the sounds of people & the beach behind the narration while it all being peaceful at the same time..the angles and the rooster on the table😅..the narration, the subject & how you spoke of it with understanding. Remember, this South Africa is only 30yrs young..as much as there difficulties, we are moving, developing & evolving at a nice rate. It takes more than 30yrs to resolve racial, inequality, crime & land issues when the cause of it all lasted 100's of years. But we have the most beautiful country in the world, diversity in our people..I am extremely blessed to have been born in South Africa.
Thank you for that, especially for noticing the small details. Yes with all things considered, the people of SA have accomplished remarkable things
@@Frankiewithacamoh yes, we noticed the small detail, and smiled at the things you found interesting. We usually get lots of food shots and “safari” trips - which we call game drives by the way. Safari is the long expedition Europeans take where they disappear into the bush for days and even months living rough😂.
Looking at the animals for half a day is a game drive.
You sir, are very welcome to South Africa. Wish you a happy and fulfilled life here
Thank you so much!
Frankie, lekker to have you here!
I appreciate that!
@@MikeSmuts but you will never say that to a nigeriian brother
Great vid brother. My wife and myself just moved back to our country after 2 years of living abroad where we had planned to settle in either Portugal or Spain. However at the end of last year just felt the call to come home and we are so at peace with our decision. Besides being an incredibly beautiful and diverse country, the people are so full of energy, hope and warmth that it’s irresistible ❤
Portugal and Spain are both amazing too but I can definitely understand that
I will be joining you soon.
Welcome home❤🇿🇦🇿🇦
Thank you!
Are you nuts this ain't his home, you really get a bunch of dumb South africans. The ones who made this country useless and corrupt as it is today a joke to other countries.
From the East, we trekked and populated the world. From the West, we were taken in chains. Mother Africa's children will always find their way back home.
The “We were taken in chains” part broke my heart 💔. Hope you are thriving wherever you are.
You just got yourself a new subscriber 🙋🏾♂️

Completely where you come from. SA has significant issues, but the sense of belonging (especially with national sporting events) is unmatched.
Yeah 100%
I am glad you enjoyed your stay. I trust you are not one of those digital nomads that are making sh*t expensive for ordinary South African citizens.
Cosy Corner Gatsby in Wynberg. Welcome to Cape Town.
Thank you!
I visited America in 2016 and the US is a dope country. You just need to have a ton of money for you to experience how awesome of a country the US is. However, for the average person it's really tough to enjoy a high quality of life without being wealthy. Americans work incredibly hard, in fact they are the hardest working and most productive people I've ever come across. I would still like to travel the US more, visit smaller towns and other states. I felt a sense of belonging over there, didn't feel like I was in a foreign country. I am glad South Africa has been good to you.
Thanks! It really has
Because who doesn’t want to live on SA😅🔥🔥

Thanks so much
What South African visa program did you relocate with?
True agree with you we are the most misunderstood country 😊
🇿🇦
People struggle to make sense of a post-apartheid people who are not living life at each other’s throats. Our African brothers and sisters especially really struggle to wrap their minds around scenes of equality and camaraderie. Living side by side with yte people feels so weird to many, and unfortunately some then choose to throw insults rather than appreciate the hard and often taxing work that has gone, and goes into deliberately building harmony amongst all the diverse cultures.
Your welcomed Bro
Thank you so much
I’m coming

The world is SLEEPING on South Africa. A gem of a country tucked away at the bottom of a big continent.
So many RUclips content creators are travelling and discovering it for themselves.
Yes I definitely believe so 🇿🇦

My brother you look like me. I feel like your ancestors are South African
I’m curious about doing an ancestry test
South Africa loves you brother hoping you'll bring more black Americans in the country
Thank you so much, would love for more to discover it
lol American slaves where taken from west Africa, no slaves where taken from Southern Africa, but we do have a lot in common with black Americans because of apartheid and their civil rights movement, that’s our bond
I hope you like rugby boet😊
It’s a must in SA 😁
... because it's the only country in Africa that has civilization?
Theres too many of you. Yall gonna anny SAns at large scale. Then youll call em xeno. Dont overstay yr welcome. Dnt say no 1 told yall

@@TheIrieman15 speak English all you want...give it 5 years they will be running to whence they came from just like in Ghana thyer homeland
Its crazy
First of all there were no slaves who were taken from south africa to America.
Me I think all this Americans thinking that they belong here is crazy because of culture. but what can I say no DNA just RSA🇿🇦😊
Haibo wena, relax...😮
Relax dude
There wasn't any south west or east. It was just Africa. Learn to put things in order. Yr NDA could find origins in west or east or south.or north. Do u understand.
Your statement is born out of ignorance because there's a slave dock right here in Cape Town. Yes most Americans originated from West and Central Africa (Benin, Nigeria, Congo, Congo Brazzaville) but their intrinsic attraction to South Africa has nothing to do with slavery but everything to do with what happened afterwards. Apartheid which I hope you understand was a modification of segregation and exclusionary social, economic and political policies that were practiced in both the US and some Latin American countries. The Boers went and studied this in the US and came and implemented it here. Ghettoisation 101 for those of you who have studied Economic and planning Geography or Urban and Regional Planning. So Black Americans in the past 100 years have gone through apartheid even if it wasn't called that in the States that is why they relate to Black South Africans who had to go through it since 1942. They have different names like the segregation period, Jim Crowe etc. so their endearment with South Africa is largely because of this shared similarity in experiences. After slavery for them and colonialism for us.
@luthovellem865 wow. Well said.
Leaving the best country in the world for a 3rd world country with a high crime rate, water shortages, electricy problems, Hiv/Aids and inequality. Bro, you could've went to New Zealand, Australia, UK or Turkey.
😂😂😂😂luister na die doos

Its obvious you dont know anything about about this country
Stop lying
I think the context of his journey and experience eluded you. Dig a little deeper.

@waynetheron8942 But, those are facts. South Africa is a country in shambles and it ain't getting close to becoming a first world country. I've seen numerous videos on YT of people portraying South Africa as a hidden gem while it's not.
