Best show ever. This takes me straight back to my childhood living room watching LeVar after school on the couch in the 80s.

Just saw this documentary today on Netflicks. It was a blast learning about how the show came be and seeing all of the clips from the various episodes both from when I watched it and the episodes my younger brother likely watched when he was growing up. I still recall reading a number of the books featured on the show over the years, weather it was the main book LeVar Burton introduced to viewers at the start of the show or one that the children read and thought viewers like me at home would enjoy.

getting the same feeling that I had when I saw the Mr. Rogers Doc Won't You Be My Neighbor?, which I still say is the most Oscar Best Documentary snub ever!

This show was so good because it was "woke" before woke was a thing, does that make sense? Like it legit opened your eyes to the common humanity of people who were so different from you, but it did it in such a gentle, loving, honest way. I think we've lost that. "I know more than you, I need to educate you" rules the day today but back then, it was more like "let's go check out something new together and see what it's all about". Miss you, Levar.

Pity that kind, gentle LaVar no longer exists, judging from his twitter feed anyway.
