I've been replaying the game for nostalgia sake and for the first time ever trying to take attention on gummy ship mission. Now I make Batwing BvS in KH1 with a lot of guns. This feature actually really fun.

My first playthrough when KH2 first came out, I struggled to make it through most of these levels, albeit being an adult now, I find that I want to S-Rank every mission! Thank you brother! Edit: just made a welfare version of the donut gummi (didnt have enough cost or parts) and Iwrecked asteroid sweep with a 2.8 mil score.
I remember when I was younger, and as a gummi ship i just made a big blob of blocks, weapons etc. I remember having a lot of fun with it, actually. It was very powerful as well for some weird reason that I do not understand. xD
This was perfect. I made one change for the Dreadnaught level 3 mission. I swapped one of the draws for auto life. Once I made that change, I completed it on my first try. The final boss always kills me once, but the setup ensures that I have the firepower to finish it off.
For those of those in 2022 and later, do the above advise but also remove two of the neon gummies, one of the purple ones add a cost converter and the drain gummy, be sure to pause and switch from full auto to semi auto after you beat the dreadnaught; and just sit still in the middle and absorb the red fire by holding x and fire it back by releasing when the attack is done or periodically if he starts firing cannons around you. If he’s not doing either of those attacks mash x like your in xemnas’ ultimate

This is so OP. I love it. Since I had to sell my PlayStation two, along with my kingdom hearts games, my wife decided earlier this year to buy a PS4 & KH2.8. I then just bought 1.5 + 2.5 Final Mix. I spent many hours designing ships and playing the Gummi ship routes. I know many people hated this mini-game, but I enjoyed and I think it added a lot to KHII gameplay experience. I hope KHIII brings amazing mini-games with this level of care.

Mine was the best gummi ship, it was a one to one recreation of the Flutter from Megan Legends. It was a yellow and red huge beast and overpowered as hell. Plus it was the closest thing I got to a new MegaMan Legends game as a kid...
I never realized the physics of the 'hollow' ship would actually matter with the hit boxes. I got s ranks on every mission w a 'standard' ship I made that was basically just a glass cannon and I barrel rolled my way to victory lol i wonder how much easier it might have been with this design instead

I never thought of a hollow square, I made a more normal ship design and still made it through the missions fine. But then again there really is no normal ship design in this game.
Interesting and helpful video. Although I removed my Teeny form abilities and replaced them with the one that gets rid of the teenies and gives you 200 extra block AP. Added more power and put the Meteor Gs on me, works pretty well too. Thanks for the build tho! Also, I find that Blizzagas instead of Gravigas work pretty well as well
Admittedly, for KH2, I never really tried to create a gummi ship, but rather try to build upgrades for the default one. In KH1 however, I abuse that one power that allows you to swap gummi ships on the fly. So say I'm cruising with a ship of mass freaking destruction and then I swap to one that is more towards dodging and surviving.
Cool to new there's a similar ship design like the cube from kh1. I might try this to see if I can get all the blueprints that and the missions are the only trophies I need to platinum on ps3
I once used 4 blizaga and 1 Thundaga on my ship cuz I was bored. Man, that Aoe was insane tho still having trouble ending big ships quickly. But hey, it's a game... it's for entertainment.

ms_dual_blade_49 Some EX missions require such things as 8 wheels, combined health, no weapons on the gummi ship and one requires 3x3x3 ship. You can use the idea for most of them, but must fallow the requirements

What about a ship for the EX missions? Those missions limits your options on which ships you can use
Also can confirm you can add 6 shields for the ex mission 1 of broken highway
what about thrusters, cuz in it's current state I can't do EX missions
