Hey folks! As mentioned in this video Cheslin is currently working his way through his law degree. There is an active fundraiser if you'd like to help him through his studies. I've never interacted with Cheslin and no pressure, but it would be incredible for us to help restore his faith in the goodness of humanity. The link can be found here - gogetfunding.com/help-cheslin-marsh-get-his-law-degree/
The campaign is led by a journalist who had the opportunity to interview Cheslin and create an excellent documentary based on the events of May 27th.
You can also help the Hannah Cornelius Foundation, which supports children and youth who are vulnerable to violence here. HCF is registered and confirmed to be a non-profit organisation - hcfoundation.org.za/
Edit: Cheslin's fundraiser has reached its target! You folks are incredible!! ✨

I wish all banks, everywhere on earth, had an emergency ‘fake password’ policy, a password that would allow the person to withdraw money, but would immediately alert police that the card has been stolen. If authorities act fast enough to track the perpetrators, even lives might be saved.

The only thing is, once they are aware this exists, they will work around it . It’s like people now knowing there are cameras at cash points and therefore thieves wear hats or cover their faces .
Or people now turning their mobile phones off because they realise they can now be tracked by phone masts.
There was a time when people didn’t realise fingerprints could identify them, now they always wear gloves.
I feel like something like this needs to be implemented but not publicised.

The right measure here would be either the death penalty on the electric chair, or life in prison with either daily torture or extensive fizical labor. It's bullshit. In a case like this, the only people who should have any fucking say over what happens with these people are the victims families, and if the victims families want an eye for an eye - kill those fucking trash bags.

Although I agree. I'd say life imprisonment is a death sentence. It's just a prolonged sentence. With the death sentence they do jail time and then eventually have a date set for their death. But with life, they have to live every single day with what they've done until their very last breath. In my opinion I think that is the best way for justice to be served. Why should they get a death sentence that causes no pain and then stops their suffering when they're the causes for pain and suffering from crimes they've committed. They didn't show signs of morals, humanity and mercy upon Hannah or Cheslin. So why should they get an easy death when they had to endure such pain in their by those men and take the life of one of them and leave the other for dead. Even Hannah's mother suffered in her end because of the actions of these men taking her little girl away.
But that's just my opinion. I guess everyone has their own view on justice and peace. All comes down to what the lasting families feel is right and what will bring them closure.

Worst part is... I know if this happened to me my mum would also die, she always says it as a way to remind me that she loves me (especially after we watched stranger things. She's already lost one child). It's the knowledge that someone can be killed and still not be the only one to die that hurts the most in these types of cases. A murder is terrible, but it's the fact that her mother died that day as well that hits the hardest.
