I'm in the same boat Tom. I was given piano lessons for two years back in the early 60's. I stopped working at it because I wasn't being taught anything that interested me. I wanted Chubby Checker and got classical training. Too young and unmotivated to realize I should have just done it on my own. Someone said "never to late" in these comments. Oh Yeah - picked up stringed instruments late in life and couldn't be happier about that decision. (or the choice to start watching these videos - stuff this good wasn't available back in the day, you had to get lucky and run into someone as good as these guys that would be willing to help)

Good shit boys. I was working on some Deep Ellem Blues this morning and this helped me get my Jerry on a bit... Guitar playing is like walking around in a huge dark house and every once in a while a light comes on, inviting you into a new room. You walk in and have a look around. You might leave. You might stay, but that light stays on going forward. That's your room now. The goal is to get that house lit up like a Christmas tree and bounce around like it's a cocktail party and you're the host. Amirite?
