yeah seriously ^^ it was jerry AND layne as a duo that worked, jerry could have just as easily started a different band with a different name but they chose to be Alice in Chains because that would sell more records and book better gigs. I really love AIC (with layne) but refuse to listen to any of the new shit cause right away i can tell its a money grab.
Jerry never stopped working.alot of people maybe don't realize that.he never stopped playing gigs all those years he kept working.he did his solo stuff then he was on camp freddy tours and with the cardboard vampyres.he does truely love playing guitar and singing.

Jerry Cantrell, artistically speaking, can do whatever it is that makes him happy. It's not a money grab. It is him doing what he was put on this earth to do; make Alice in Chains music. If you have listened to and loved even one single song, all you should do is feel gratitude.
My band rehearsed at the Music Bank, Alice in Chains was across the hallway from us. Amazing place. Hard to describe the sound of a dozen metal bands playing, full volume, at the same time. No sound insulation.
We would show up at midnight on a Wednesday to unload gear, and have Layne unlock the roll up door so I could pull my van in. He'd ask us "What are you guys doing? "
"Coming back from a gig" I said.
"On a Wednesday? "
"Yeah" I said "gotta pay our (rehearsal) room rent somehow."

What did you do in your band?
I’ve seen a lot of old footage of Layne and he def had a dorky or goofy side to him, but seem to become “a rock star” in quick order, could you see that in him early on?

RIP Johnny Thunders, your music will stand forever...

two of the best of their respective era's... sweet child's bass line is stand alone.. credit to Duff's playing skills.. i always loved the tone of his bass and rig..... jerry could have made it as a guitarist alone.. but his song writing and song structure is what I think is his real talent.. although.. it still bothers me to hear anyone but lane sing with jerry in AIC..

Nirvana wasn't noticed by public at large til Nevermind and with that Bleach became popular.
mikeylikesit100 he's talking more about the early bands that comprised the Seattle scene. Soundgarden was at the time the first one to get a record label. Most of the bands were close - Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Melvins, even Pearl Jam and etc. Nirvana was outside of that circle. Jerry only met Kurt once and that was in Brazil.
mikeylikesit100 also, bleach didn't sell a lot of copies when it was initially released by Sud Pop. It wasn't after Nevermind that Bleach was re-released that it sold well.

I met one alice in chains groupies about 9 years ago in LasVegas. U could tell she used to be smoking hot , still looked good but long she was so out of her mind and high as fuckon drugs, had to ditch her, but I did hear a few cool alice in chains tales ..lol.

NattyProductions his natural hair color is light blonde. There are pics of him aged 16 with light blonde hair. But i remember in an interview when Jar of Flies came out that the record label told him to dye his hair darker so he didn't look like a hair metal rocker.

Just because they are not playing with touring named band, does not make them any less then what they were, fucktard.
