Let's give it up for Madonna's backup singers, Donna de Lory and Nikki Howard. They bring the choreo and energy needed to support Madonna's live vocals!
A+ for sure. Relatively simple but each detail so meticulously executed. An important performance as it became a sketch for her next tour. It showcases Niki and Donna, her main backup singer/dancers for the next 10+ years. And it's the first time we see her vogue-ing.
This is legendary! This is the tip of the iceberg though... You'll see her evolution as a live performer soon, she will set the bar for the next show concerts after the Blond Ambition Tour. Nice reaction bro.
Hi ace! I like this performance because it was so raw, it does kinda remind me of her previous performance at the VMA’s with like a virgin . The production wasn’t elaborate or anything over the top, ( here in 1989) and even though she had similar hair to her who’s that girl era ( tour) she looked different, maybe it was her attitude? Maybe she put on a lil extra muscle, idk she looked different. It was organic, and flashy but authentic and charming. I do believe it was unique for its time. I do like how she gives credit to her background dancers/ singers , whom she will go on to work with in subsequent tours and performances. After this 89 performance her live shows got way more theatrical, as the 1990’s ushered in. I am looking forward to seeing you react and experience the next world tour Blonde ambition 1990 to support her like a prayer album ( in fact it , the tour was to be named the Like a prayer tour, but Pepsi backed out on the sponsorship) No less, Blonde ambition has a nice ring to it. It’s arguably credited for revolutionizing pop concerts as we have now become accustomed to experiencing them, more like art installations, or theatre . Thanks for everything, and enjoy the beginning peak of her career that runs from 1990-2006 . Take care
One of her greatest live moments, yes

I love them and have missed them since 2001 when they were all together creating that classic madonna sound! It's never been the same. Nikki Harris.
*Niki Harris 😄
Her backup singers and dancers looked good alongside her. They certainly enhanced the performance and brought more vibrancy to it.

Interesting...sounds like this is a glimpse into what's to come!
You’ll see this number come to full fruition as the opening number of the legendary Blond Ambition tour.
Definitely looking forward to it!
Her first time vogueing ❤
Oh yeah, I caught that moment when they were doing hand and arm voguing movements.
Iconic performance that is repeated and expanded for the tour. All the tours are a must watch. They paved the way for modern tours.
Definitely gonna be watching it!
This was a great performance by all three of these talented women! Thanks for posting!
✌🏻🔥✌🏻
Thank you for watching and commenting! 😁

Thanks! Appreciate it. Looking forward to seeing the next tour!
I miss these 3 together
I love this performance and I am looking forward to your reaction to the Blond Ambition Tour!
Not one artist today could pull this off! I’ll even go so far as to say any artist from the past 20 years could pull this off!
The Queen of Pop
Simple but effective...great vocals and stage presence. Look forward to going on this journey 🙌
💯 Agreed! Thank you for watching and following along!

This performance is a precursor to the Blond Ambition tour!
❤❤❤❤❤
Always like seeing Madonna give tribute to Michael Jackson
& She's Not trying to hide it
Hello on the same evening Madonna kissed George Michael and when he won an award for Like a Prayer I thank Pepsi for creating the whole controversy
Interesting! Madonna and George both there that night I'm sure made the show all the more memorable.
she also outed him, she called him : "the DIVA himself" LOL
