It sounds so good, and thank God it doesn't sound like Sorceress, I could swear that album was recorded underwater. Sounds dark and heavy, it's far similar to old Opeth than recent albums. Could be wrong but this just sounds like it were a verse away from Mikael growling (a man can dream)
@@kicoDbz People say things and change their mind all the time. He still does growls live. Either way, looking forward to this album. I have other bands that can fill that harsh vocal void.

Hattem AlHajery Why? I don't speak Swedish either, but I will be following what Mikael said and I really think an album in Swedish is something special.
It has some slight early Opeth elements in it. I wouldn't guess it was them from hearing but I am getting excited they are going the Bodom route with a throwback sounding album.
I love the last 3 albums more than most of Opeth’s discography,so I guess I’m in the minority in saying if they continue down the progressive rock direction with a strong jazz and folk influence then I’m totally cool with that. This snippet sounds really great.
Corbin M Pale communion rocks I hope for a proper sequel to this album! I totally agree with you regarding the direction they chose, the new prog Opeth is really cool :)
TheSlayFer Ch. T. That's easy. Swedish, definitely. 1- Mikael said himself that, although he translated everything into English, his version, the definite version, is the Swedish one. 2 - It's different. I've been waiting for so long for Mikael to do more songs in Swedish since I heard Sörskogen and the cover of Den Ständiga Resan.
Every time I listen to Opeth, I feel the reverb from Led Zep recording Physical Graffiti. Opeth....captures those castle walls! The sound reminds me and enlightens at the time of what I love and what I want to love....two different things! I get it!
This sounds very early Opeth (I'm getting some Deliverance vibes from this one) and that's getting me even more hyped for this album. I don't even mind the lack of growls, because I understand that it's getting harder for Mikael to actually do them; but it's good to hear this more Opethy sound.
Wow this actually sounds like Opeth, instead of bad 70's obscure prog rock ripoff. I don't care if there's no growls, I'm just glad that Opeth's traditional melodies are back.
I like how sinister this sounds.
Sounding heavier than they have in a while, too. You could put harsh vocals over that and it wouldn't sound too far off from vintage Opeth.
ScoopMeisterGeneral imagine they had their metal sound? This would be fucking amazing!!
@@ScoopMeisterGeneral Absolutely agree. They got their balls back - and their taste for atmosphere.
It's fucking incredible. Foreboding heavy metal!
sounds like old opeth
Anyone else really excited for that album ?
Abso-fucking-lutely!
When was it announced? This is the first I'm seeing that.
HELL YEAH!!!!!
I hope it’s going to be really good

Holy shit, it sounds so good. Can't wait!
Like Pale Communion but more metal.
What's Pale Communion? Never heard of it.

Fernando Martin Some album by some band, idk
@@DescendingBlade I think it's some type of rock album
In that case, I am very okay with that.
This does put a smile on my face.

@@kicoDbz I agree, it is dark prog. I was just trying to make a joke with an Endgame reference.
@@kicoDbz its not like opeth's old sound. But its heavier than other 3 records. İts now black sabbath more than camel.
Sound so dope. Drumming is crisp af.

Opeth: Announces anything
- Everybody liked that -
The sheeps are real.
Not when Heritage came out, they didn't.
Mix sounds much better than Sorceress already.
Pretty sure Sorceress was recorded underwater, lol
Sorceress was a huge disappointment. Terrible record.
Aye, Tom Dalgety might seem like a nice chap, but he butchered the quality of Sorcess. Sounds so muddy. Not really in a great way either. 😖😞

I'll never know when.

Today xd
This is the best sounding Opeth yet. Perfect, clear sound
Sounds like Mike is still on a Jazz Odyssey
ehhhhhh how so? oh you must mean the chugging riffs and hard cymbal crashes... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
That riff is ominous and crunchy!

Growls are cool, but i think Mikael can't make them sound like in their prime, so expect only clean singing.

And it gives me high hopes

Swedish Opeth album? Count me in!
There will be two versions, a Swedish version and an English one

I'm taken to another dimension when I listen to Opeth.
correct.
It's not drowned in organ and terrible, muddy bass, so we're off to a good start.
Guys don’t get your hopes on this album mikael has said he moved on from harsh vocals so expect a album similar to the last but better I hope
Now the big question. Swedish version or English version? And how many Opeth Turbo Fans will buy both versions on vinyl?

@@ricardogadelha5003 for sure. Swedish is my pick as well but it's also a fun experiment to see how much the songs change due to the language.
Some growls would make this song heavenly.
Apparently only one growl on the whole album.
@halvierd I know, but I hope there's at least some to give some variety and heaviness.
tarzanell And said growl is so buried you can barely notice it xD
This album is going to pair well with fall, I can feel it.
like beer and wings

You can totally hear death growls over that music so who knows if not that’s fine I won’t complain but just sounds it might be possible
No growls thats for sure, but might be a bit heavier
