I’ve recently completed three beautiful days of masterclass with Barbara. She more than deserves every recognition and accolades she gets today. She is the only one today giving so much energy time programs and money to emerging young singers such as I . Her generosity is unmatched in the business and I treasure everything I ve learned so far with Barbara.
Watching this for the bazillianth time. My 2yo loves the paper on the drum. Atmospheric. Ethereal. Creepy microtones. The big suspended chord before the end is soooo satifying.
I saw her perform this work at the Barbican with the London Symphony Orchestra. It was absolutely magical.Once heard, this music lives with you for ever.
Joe Neustatl She is an extraordinary artist, her talents have no limits, Barbara Hannigan was given by God more than anyone deserves to receive. Her divine looks, her unlimited voice, high intelligence and acting abilities. Understanding of characters and situations she portraits, an artist can ask for no more.
Merci, merci.
@@teresaf5809 he was indeed lucky. Not because he needed Hannigan to boost his reputation, but this piece is almost tailored to Hannigan's incredible range and tone. I suspect a different soprano won't hit the same
@@Ennah08 Ophelia drowned by her own hand. If effect, this is The water in which Ophelia drowned herself turned to ice... time has turned her suicide into a strange mirror of herself. The orchestration. Such a gentle embracing awareness to it. Like someone listening to you, rather than you to it. Touching.

she is a dreamboat
A calming soothing dissonance that is disturbing at the same time. A very atmospheric piece of music as a special treat for the left brain.
What a talent, this woman is an experience for the ears of people - especially people like me who know nothing about classical music! Amazing...
Quelle douceur, quel charme dans cette composition. Parfaitement chantée ou plutôt murmurée.

The composition is wonderful and the performance is truly divine. This control in the vocal performance is a true fit of virtuosity.
Barbara is otherworldly. Hans Abrahamsen is arguably the most relevant composer today.

Haunting and beautiful. The use of the voice and its registers, and the surprising uses of instruments are brilliant.

Favorite singer artist--she has such great selections

I so much like your sincerity, Barbara Hannigan and also your talent. You inspire me. Thank you.
How beautiful!
Beautiful and I am a fon of both Barbara Hannigan now also a famous conductor and Nelsons who was already a famous conductor.
Complimenti... Sei Bravissima Barbara!! 👏👏👏
Truly sublime. Ethereal music from another plane.
Sublime - as always.
BEAUTIFUL! Hannigan is superb, and I have a new respect for Nelsons. Wonderful orchestral playing, of course.
I love it too.... so very much.
genial!
If there is heaven on earth this music and Ms Hannigan are it.
Barbara Hannigan is a joy and delight in a world increasingly filled with misery and stupidity
Пронзительная красота ☄ Невесомый голос Ханниган восхитителен 👌

Très beau message, mais elle ne le lira jamais.
Quelle musique, quelle interprétation...
The best soprano of today.
So you would like to hear her in Salome? ;-)
phenomenal!!!!!
Hans Abrahamsen is a wonderful composer!!
Thank you for mentioning the composer, as youtube doesn't seem to able to manage that very often.
Rather! What a pity most comments here are on the singer, as if Abrahamsen was only lucky to get her perform his work...

Musical perfection.
Beyond sublime!
What an astounding composition. Are there other singers who can actually pull this off?
That was so beautiful!!!!
Amazing 👌👌👌 Hannigan Barbara
Dude, she's the bomb!
She is such an amazing musician. Only surprised she didn't push the conductor out of the way and take over, she is an awesome conductor.
she literally pushes the conductor out of the way in one of her performances of "el misterio de la macabra"
Fantastic! !! Barbara !!!
Amazing and beautiful !!!

Barbara darling, we don't hear you we feel you in our heart, our mind and soul.
Wow!!!
Pure heaven
Words fail me.

That percussionist picked the wrong time to clean his drum. It kept making a funny noise
I heard they, and the pianist were fired... tisk tisk slackers
I actually sounds like people sneezing in the audience, maybe he was anticipating this, as this is a common occurance during a classical concert.

Some nice ear tickling here and there. But critics who mention it in the same breath as Strauss' Four Last Songs are off their rockers.
Hi, can anyone tell me the name of the violist at 1:29?
The old one? Neithard Resa
No the young one around the 1:28 mark? Don't recognise him. Thanks for the reply! :)
You asked this 11 months ago, so you've probably figured it out by now, but this is Florian Peelmann (small detail: he is a viola player)
DELICIOSA¡¡¡¡
I'm getting a sort of Lord of the Rings vibe from her voice.
Queen of fools elle
bandita
Obvious Mahler influence
