My son's violin teacher, a very good performer, is teaching him that things should be "over-dramatized" for performance. It's what works in real life. Now he has to learn the technical skills that go behind that dramatization. What looks like emotion is mostly technique. Vitali's Chaconne starts out a lot like Bach's Chaconne and finishes like Tartini's Devil's Trill Sonata.
Obviously it would be unfair to compare her interpretation to Heifetz's, but she does it admirably. Her expression and vibrato are wonderful, which is most important for this piece. Her staccato and technique on the jumpier pieces aren't quite up to the Jascha standard, but it's still a masterful interpretation.
великолепное произведение вечная музыка может быть и мой сын когда- нибудь исполнит если ему дадут возможность развиться,пока что все очень сложно,не кому учить..
I believe David Oistrakh was the GREATEST violinist in the last 100 years. His phrasing & timing are b eautiful. Sarah Chang comes closest to Oistrakh but she is still young and will 'season up' to Oistrakh's level in another 10-15 years (perhaps). Time will tell. She is still a bit rough around the edges.
wonderful music , so good played, thanx for sharing

Over dramatise is okay. But if you over dramatise too much, the piece woul not be nice
She is good but could can be less forceful and Sarah 'Do not over dramatise when you play'
I don't like her interpretation. Oistrakh understands this piece better.
I dont like. Sounds like a mad woman crying .too much & too rough
