Just discovered you and your channel. I thought this comparison was educational. Did not expect the vintage 8 element to do as well. Suprised about lower resolution informers. I used to shoot 4th version 35mm summicron. Replaced it with Voightlander 35mm ultron f2 which outperforms the summicron. (borehole king) I would love to see a comparison of Voifhtkander 35nm ukton f2 vs Your Leica 35 apo f2. I expect you would only see a difference at f2 and theVoigbtlander is a 700 lens. unbelievable. Your 90mm comparison shocked me. The vintage was great. thank you very much.
I have both the vintage Summicron and the Summaron lenses. Interestingly, I found the latter one actually sharper at f/2.8. I prefer using them on M9 than on M10.
Very educational! may I ask if the framline remains accurate on M10s with goggled 35mm? as I read on the Leica forum some are saying it will be off as the depth of the lens mount is different than what it is on the M3
Interesting comparison! To me the most interesting part of the goggled Summicron is that it calls up the 50mm frame lines… and therefore should be a larger effective viewfinder for 35mm? What was the shooting experience like using the vintage Cron?
Astonishing to see that the 1960 lens still is accepted by the 2022 camera body, and it works probably better than on the original bodies of the days of invention.

Good question. Unfortunately I don’t have the lens anymore so I can not test. Someone else might respond.

I prefer a straight lens (no goggles). The pro is having a larger field of view but the extra size is a deterrent for me.
Is it difficult to focuing with the split image through the goggle eye?
👍
Was it hard to focus using a vintage lens on the m10r ?
Focusing was just as easy as modern M manual lenses via the range finder.
