Regarding the Zach Charbonnet comment - Favorite prospect ≠ best. Charbonnet was my 3rd ranked RB in the class behind Bijan and Gibbs - but he was my favorite between the three

Honestly, the Texans hit on a majority of their picks. Dell, Anderson and To'o To'o have all contributed so far this year

Exactly...hit on a few high draft picks, solid culture building coach, picking the right QB, Stroud elevating those around him. They've done really well for themselves
Disagree on Campbell slightly. I think he's playing like a rookie would, but he flies around the field and has had some clutch pass breakups. No DROY stuff, but flashes that he can play in the middle of that defense for a long time.
He has shown to be solid on the run but a liability on pass.... we'll see.... he definitely went too high. That was a 3-4th rd guy
No he was a second round guy, but we did reach for him

I don't think people realize the only reason he is playing where he is right now is because Alex Anzalone is playing so much better than expected this year. He is a true middle linebacker and with Anzalone being there, Campbell is just getting moved around a lot. So is he playing bad? No, not one stat would point to him being bad. Is he elite? Not yet, but again, he's not really playing the position he played at Iowa. I personally don't think he was drafted too high. He's such a culture fit and an athletic specimen. I think that matters as far as first round draft picks go
Campbell was a big reach. PFF grading has him at 48/100 as of now. He had a nice pass breakup against the chiefs in week 1 🤣. He's not your modern linebacker and shouldn't have been a 1st rounder

Broderick Jones seems like the real deal. Steelers took their time putting him in the starting lineup, but it's been pretty clear he's their best lineman. the running game was anemic before his playing time
Their entire class has been amazing tbh, benton and porter look like future pro bowlers, Herbig had had some nice snaps and Washington has all the potential in the world
Makes me excited for the Lions offseason. I know Holmes will draft well for our defense AND we are one of the teams with the most cap space. So we could probably be even better next year

As a lions fan this is the most exciting year of football of my life, I don’t even care if we win the NFC title, all I want is one playoff win, and a great offseason to keep us rolling for more winning seasons in the future!! This doesn’t have to be a one time thing for Detroit

As a Ravens fan, I had mad respect for the way CJ Stroud played against us in Week 1 even while our defense pretty much shut down everything their offense tried to do. I thought he could be something special, but I wasn’t expecting an ascent like this from him. He looks like he could easily be a consensus top five (maybe even top three) QB for the next decade. Already looks like he might be better than Groper Cleveland tbh.

@@Kyle-bi7df 3 of the better offenses in the NFL, who all have a great QB. The Lions have dominated against the run, bad QBs, and weak offenses. Obviously our pass rush and secondary isn’t quite where it needs to be to shut down a top QB, I’ll admit that. But I believe the defense is still statistically around top 10 in the league this year.
Browns fan so biased. But Dawand Jones a 4th round rookie tackle has been our starting RT the majority of the season since conklin went down. we've honestly not seen a sizeable drop off at all from what is a former all pro in conklin and Dawand. I'd argue hes been easily the best O-linemen from this draft so far.

Lions rookie linebacker has issues in coverage but isn’t he the reason lions have a top rushing defense and stop a lot of thirds? I could be wrong but I wouldn’t say he’s not playing well.

When the dust has settled I think we will see that the Texans had a generational draft class in 2023. Maybe not the 1974 Steelers, but maybe the 1989 Cowboys, and definitely as good as the 2006 Texans draft.

After Luck and RG3 I never get hyped about a QB until at least their third season. CJ is playing great, but let’s not crown him yet.
I know it’s not a sexy pick but the Browns selection of Dawand Jones was a massive steal. He’s definitely made losing Jack Conklin easier to take. Big Thanos has stepped in and dominated. He’s a Fourth round rookie playing like a first round stud and borderline pro bowler
It’s almost like the Lions had a plan for Gibbs and a bunch of people who drafted him in fantasy expected the world immediately.
At least now they can focus on getting mad at Arthur Smith for his intentional fantasy sabotage lol

Even if Gibbs puts up 2500 yards it’s a bad pick. They passed on Christian Gonzalez twice, more OL help, their pick of WR, and a number of great defensive prospects including Jalen Carter to take a RB with a pitch count.
Like how nobody is still talking about how Lovie Smith screwed over the Texas by having them lost the number one overall pick
If he literally got them CJ Stroud and gave the Texans organization the biggest middle finger on the way out then how did he screw the Texans fans? They should make a medal for Lovie in Houston
@@maskedman5657 I didn't know if you watch the sports talk people program shows are whatever but at the time when Lovie Smith had his team go for the win go downing fighting and not just rolling over and hand gave Chicago the number one overall pick it was so much hate on Lovie for months and months on how he screwed Houston so badly

You're right about waking up and realizing CJ Stroud is your team's QB. He's proving that every game is winnable especially if you give him a little bit of time. Everything the Texans have gone through the past few years has been worth it.

will anderson and jalen carter are who we thought they were. anderson maybe doesnt have the sacks, but his crazy high motor, run defense, and double team rate and pass rush win rate tell the full story. plus, carter is in a much better defensive situation.

Your saying that Carter deserves rookie defensive player of year.. your forgetting about Devon witherspoon he played two less games and has been a difference maker for the Seahawks defense. But since Philly is a big market seattle won't get much love with the players they gotten. But I wished seattle traded up to get stroud not discounting what witherspoon has done. Having a elite qb changes everything

I will deny that it is 'a lot' easier to have a 1,000 yard season because of 17 games. It is only 4 yards per game easier. With 16 games you have to average 62.5 yards per game to hit 1,000 and with 17 the number only drops to 58.82 yards. It is easier, especially because you get another attempt with that extra game, but I think 'a lot' is overstating it. Either way we need more years of the 17 game season to actually know.

I don’t think the Gibbs pick is being proven right already. Their run game has been great without him there were other players like Will Levis, Jordan Addison, Christian Gonzalez, Calijah Kancey who all are having big impacts and would have made more of a diffidence. Levis for the future, but all the others would be making more of an impact now and provide more long term value.
Deeply disagree on R1 RBs. Can get the same in R2 or R3. Should've drafted CB Gonzalez.
