yup.....it's from BAD ANIMALS...always terrific in concert....smoky stage...brought down the whole tenor of the concert....then they could build it up again....usually, as I recall, followed by EVEN IT UP.

when this song hit the charts spring 1988 ann was having doubts about her career while at the apex of her career because the media would ignore heart or talk about anns weight and never never never mentioned what an incredible singer ann wilson was but praised madonna and whitney houston non stop at the same time. it was back then i realized the media was rigged at least the music media was.

Anne Wilson was a fan of the song Drive by The Cars. I believe the similarities between that song and the album version of this one are striking. I really believe this was inspired by Drive as it shares that haunting synthesizer, the almost ethereal background vocals, and the same key. Stevie Nicks did something similar when she had Prince write Stand Back for her as her own version of Little Red Corvette. Both Stand Back and Want You So Bad are not far removed from their source inspirations while still remaining very original in their own right, mostly due to the vocal styling of the singers

Ann Wilson is the best female rock vocalist, period. She can do it all from ballads to rock, and everything in between.
