When he first started out in the business he addressed it and said he is always nervous in these types of interviews. It is just the way he is, but he over comes it with his super wit, intelligence and over the top charisma. In the top 5 actors of all time for mine and also very politically aware. Unlike so many of his contemporaries.
Mel's a very intense dude. I agree Hacksaw Ridge was probably the best movie in many years. What's amazing is Mel's made at least ten movies that are right up there with it. He's quite honestly the best movie producers/directors/actors of my life of 50 years.

Lethal Weapon 5 will be great and warmly welcomed by all! As long as the budget isn't as high as Lethal 4, it will be a huge hit too. My hope is that the script is good and that the tone and style is more like the first two movies, less like part 4 which was too over the top goofy. Keep the budget lower this time, maybe 80 million, have a less is more approach to the action with Mel and Danny, and only have one BIG moment, with most of the action being like part one. Mel should have his hair be how it was in Daddy's Home 2, maybe even slightly longer on top, but clean shaven or with stubble, and Danny should look closer to how he did in the original, both of them with their current hair color though. No dyeing of the hair like they did in part 4. Just make an edgier but not forced movie, R rated like all the others, and maybe have Shane Black do a script polish. The idea of a final Lethal Weapon is the best news I've heard all year regarding cinema! Maybe call it Lethal Weapons?
