@cupcakeswirl1287 I'd guess that the people complaining so much about paper 1 probably did Edexcel because there was a bit of backlash for it's difficulty but the AQA paper was fine in comparison

Paper 1 aqa higher was a bit challenging and usually I do well on the non calculator paper But the difference is not that much So I hope these 2 papers go well

For products of prime factors you type in the number eg 84, press equals then press shift and the time button which ihas a circle then 3 commas and for 84 you should get 2squared X 3 X 7. Hope this helps
HELP!!! My teacher at school said the exam boards has changed the calculator (for higher only to fx-85GTCW) which is apparently a more recent model and it is more complicated to use compared to this one.
Casio have made an updated model yes, and some schools have purchased them, not all. All these features are still available on the newer model though, it’s just a little harder to navigate 😓
@@TheGCSEMathsTutor I don't think we should be forced to use these newer model since we aren't familiar with it as much. It took 10 minutes to find where the pi button was on the mocks as well. But it is what it is I guess😕

@@TheGCSEMathsTutor all I did was find out the 3.5% which was 70£ and x2= 2140 in total then I found out 2.5% of 2140 which was £53.5 and x it by 5 which was 267.5 and added it all together which gave me 2407.5
In the context of a table for plotting points on a graph, g(x) is just another function which you can assign a different equation to. This is useful because you get the plots for the y axis of 2 seperate lines (the line for f(x) and the line for g(x) and you can find where both lines intersect because the value for y= f(x) will be the same as the value for y = g(x) against the same x value. g(x) is a function exactly like f(x). You will need to know this in the exam but it will be obvious what it is in the exam. g(x) works in exactly the same way as f(x) would work as they are both functions however it is used when there are 2 different functions because that means they can't be represented by the same letter. Theoretically it could be any letter for it's but the standard it g as it comes after f. You may be asked a question about a function fg(x) which is a composite function combining 2 functions. in this scenrio you work from right to left doing the function of g, g(x) and then do the function of f(x) on g(x).

Don't think of how much you should get, think of how much you can get - push yourself for the highest you can achieve! Watch all the foundation videos you need and keep your head on and I'm sure you'll pass your exam!
Just quick question. For the first one what does the 'step 1' mean? Like do we always puf step 1? And for the second one do we have to show workking out for HCM OR LCM???
It means the table values of x increase by 1 so like -2,-1,0,1,2,3,4 all increases by 1 so it’ll find the answers you want for those steps by knowing the start and end numbers and what you want it to go up in

@@Mmmm-ml They said they did poorly on paper 1, and therefore are asking if they need to get 78 (of 80), which is in the high 90%s, marks on the other papers to make up the overall% required to get a 5 on foundation, which is quite high so it's not unlikely.

Absolutely not! These are all legitimate uses of the calculator and there is no issues at all using any of them 🙏🏼

@@RANDOMLOV3R Yes but graded by total. So 186 of 240 for grade 5 on foundation, though that sounds like a boundary from a slightly easier paper.
