    I felt I didn’t do as great as I wanted on my maths paper today, I really want a grade 4 to get into college in September and still have 2 exams to go, let’s say I got a grade 2 or 3 on this paper, Or 1 but Thats unlikely, and I got 4s and 5s on both the other papers, would my overall be a 4, as the total mark I think is 157 marks for a grade 4 overall, and wondering if I can still achieve it, basically have I still got a chance to get a 4 despite me not knowing a few answers today, but did working out

    • @JoeyMarshall
      @JoeyMarshall 2 года назад +3

      If you're doing the foundation paper, then the highest you can get is a grade 5 I believe? You can definitely still get a pass but you need to make sure you're confident going into paper 2/3. As you say though, you're thinking of worst case scenario but writing down workings will bag you a mark or two here and there so not all is lost!
      Short answer is: Yes but you need to really work at it!

      @@TheGCSEMathsTutor Actually, it just says "10 people who speak German speak at least one other language". This leaves it open to interpretation whether there are only 10 German speakers or indeed more than 10.
      However, I suppose it is safe to assume that the question intends there to be 0 German only speakers since we can't work the answer out without this information, but the wording is a little ambiguous in my opinion.
      This is a case where simple inclusion of the word 'the' at the start of that sentence would have cleared this up.
      Perhaps it is just a typo on your slide? :)
