I love Simone's new routine, are you kidding me with the haters. She could be dancing to Happy Birthday and still be magnificent. So proud of her and of Team USA!
Rinda Gray agree- it really seems to have been the beginning of the end for her in elite gymnastics. I’ve just heard she’s started at Oklahoma and I’m super excited to see what she will do there!
That photo bomb by Laurie was hilarious! I like her more and more every time I see her perform. She should be a model when she gets done with gymnastics.
My heart goes out to John Orosco. He's great, and we're all pulling for him. He and his mom had a great relationship. I'm sure she is deeply missed. Great family!!!
ragan, laurie, and simone are all such firecrackers so powerful and tiny. cant wait to see more of them in the future. also Laurie and ragan can dance on floor jeez!
Ragan Smith's floor routine is my favorite so creative!! The routine is adorable and so is she. I find it cool Im only minutes away from the gym she attends
I honestly love Ragan's floor routine. It is so well thought out. Along with Laurie's. They are so playful, but powerful. Of course, their routines weren't perfect, but their effort shows. So much stage presense too. They will definitely go far their gymnastics career. By far two wonderful gymnasts.
There are a lot of them that are just absolutely tiny little ladies. Simone is 4’8, not sure how tall Ragan was here but probably not much more than. And yet, elite, extremely strong and athletic ladies!
Watching this for the second time, now in March 2020, & loving it. The best way to pass the time with the “shelter-in-place” quarantine bc of COVID. Also, just learned the 2020 Olympics has been postponed until 2021. ⚡️🤸♀️⚡️🇺🇸🏅
Simone basically did 3 H equivalent passes while most struggle to manage one, that's how amazing she is. Kinda like Svetlana Khorkina on bars, but 10x more dominant
Exactly ! She's like I still have a lot to work on lol . Wow, her difficulty level is enough to dominate the entire sport . I love that she is very humble and gracious too !
Team USA could not be anymore exciting than it is this year !!! So many incredible and powerful gymnasts with levels of difficulty that are very hard to match . Also we have so much dynamics with each athlete bringing something special to the table. I know it's still is just in the beginning stages of who will make the team but they're all amazing and passionate about their sport it's going to be a fantastic Olympic Games for our ladies !!!!!
I'm glad they shown New Zealand & Canada's athletes for like almost 5 minutes lol. Don't expect to see their scores though. I never knew NZ had a team :P
Thanks so much for posting. You certainly get a like from me. I am stunned at thinking about how great the olympic trials and nationals will be. The USA has amazing talent!! May they all stay healthy...
Right? I love aly, but I don't think her amanar was fully there yet. Hadn't seen her do it without piking down a bit and having bent legs during the half twist. I don't remember how she did it in Rio though and I guess they really wanted at least two amanars
Yeah it was incredible !!!! She has so much pizazz , so dynamic and exciting to watch . I really love the uplifting positive spirit she brings to the team .
Based on the coverage, this competition consisted of the American girls, two Canadians and, a girl from New Zealand. I would think China, at least, would have been there. Maybe a Latin American country or two?
Picking the girls for the Olympic team is going to be so hard! The only ones I'm sure of are Simone and Gabby. It could be Aly or Maggie. Laurie or Regan, Madison or any other bat specialist. 😁😁😁
Gracie C. She will still train at Brestyans. Mihai doesn't move to Australia and she also trains there with other coaches not only Mihai, for example with Mihai's wife.
@@sso.blueskye - You say that as tho you don’t think they deserve it? They were, & still are, imo, Horrible. Never did anything about the girls who filed sexual abuse complaints against Larry Nassar; they are responsible for HUNDREDS of occurrences. Aly is going forward w making USAG face their responsibility, along with Michigan State University, and USOC.
Biles,Douglas,Raisman,Hernadez and Locklear is who I think will make it. I think Smith will be an alternate. So long as none get injured. I doubt Marta will take and injured gymnast. Hernadez, Locklear and Smith are all up in the air.
I don't think Raisman is a lock yet. But Biles and Douglas are all but locks, in my opinion. And I do think Martha will take a bar specialist and we will see how Maddie does this summer along with Brenna. It's hard to tell now. If Brenna has a good floor an an amanar, I think it will be her. If Maddie has her bars and great beam, it could be her.
I think Raisman is a lock only because she is basically the "mom" of the national team. That and she has proven she can bring home hardware under Olympic pressure. At the end of the day Marta wants the hardwarez
+Wim Plans Life 100% agree Raisman is def a lock , she's a leader and proven Olympic champion that keeps great composer under pressure and adds important scores for the team . Also she's very supportive of all her fellow teammates , she's always the first person there to greet them with a hug and support after their routines . That's so important for this team to have with so many incredible athletes. She shows so much respect for everyone it sets the tone for great moral for the team . I love her !!!!
I have six girls who I think are in the best place to go to the olympics: Simone, gabby, Laurie, Ragan, and then either Maggie or Aly. I'm not sure if Aly can remain consistent and strong and I'm not sure how Maggie will compete after her knee injury. Team USA really doesn't need a bars specialist but if there was one I think it would be Ashton because of her lines and connections.
NBC focuses too much Laurie and less on Ragan. TBH I enjoy Ragan much more than Laurie because her routines are more diverse (They are both pretty awesome on floor tho) I love how they don't Dwell on Brennas one bad performance too much. Poor Ragan tho, people have her so much hate for making a mistake and not being as good as in Jesolo because she was flewn in two days before and was sick.
+mjamitche5 But, I thought Ragan was Waaaay underscored especially on vault and beam. I mean, compare her EF and TF routine, how did TF score lower than EF? The Judges were on crack for her routine. The rest I thought were accurate. Her vault E score compared to Alys? That didn't make any sense. Yes, she has her form issues but Aly had that but worse and landing problems.
+Ilise Angel Ragan only beat Laurie at Jesolo in the AA because Laurie dragged her feet on the ground on her Pak salto. Ragan will make up some ground if she adds her Patterson dismount on beam, but Laurie definitely had her beat pound for pound at this point in the season.
+mjamitche5 True, I see Laurie as a Maggie in that she can contribute anywhere but better in beam than vault. Other than that, they have similar skill sets but Maggie has a better floor. Honestly, I think Ragan was a little underscored today, and she didn't have her best day in floor, but once she adds her Patterson dismount, she'll be the one to beat (after Simone Obv.)
Not really worried about Ali, Symone, or Gabby, but a bit nervous about the others (course Nastia loves the one who almost faceplants on 1st tumbling run.) As for first three, I'm really hoping and praying that Tim and the other two don't fuck USA's chances like they did with Maroney in 2012. Remember the vault finals?? They unnecessarily talked her up too damn much and added even more pressure to a situation that SO DID NOT need anymore -- and she choked! I mean, that piece NBC did just before, having her describe moment by moment her vault? Seriously?! So she knew they were doing it long b4 she even vaulted!
@@tekkenfan01 Arguably it's also Larry Nassar/Marta Karolys' fault. She was competing on a broken toe and was being mol*sted instead of being properly treated for her injuries.
they made a mistake but she did get fourth in a tight final on her weakest event. And the fact how last year without the 2- per country rule she would have made bars final is pretty cool in modern day gymnastics
+sophia liao Yes, contrary to popular belief, Simone won a world medal on bars. I believe it was 2 years ago, and she was as surprised as anyone. I'll have to look it up to tell you exactly when, but that's the amazing thing about Simone, she is dominant in everything she tries and does. Even though she hates bars, yes, she got a medal.
+sophia liao She qualified for all event finals in 2013, but finished 4th on bars. Tim can get a little toooo excited for his own good sometimes. But, Simone is unlike any other gymnast.
I miss when FX was so much more. Last time I last enjoyed, I mean really loved the routine, was probably 1996 compulsory FX routine. Now they hop, prance, and skip too much, with a jump here, a leap there. Then run 2/3 across and tumble the last small space and pray you don't split outta bounds like an idiot. lol
raisman is going unelss she gets injured best believe. i wouldn't count out gowy either. the specialists are going to have a hard time with all the strong all arounders
They're saying that she's only been to world's 3 times and in that time she's won 14 medals, 10 of them gold. No other female gymnast has 10 gold medals
Fashion Models sveta got 20 medals from 7 world championships, Simon has 14 from just 3 worlds, and more golds too, just double that for Simone and see

“Gymnastics 101 baby fly high and stick the landing” Tim 😂😂
Every time he says that in a broadcast I say it along with him.
Oh boy. And right there... is a huge mistake
I can't believe people were hating on Simone's floor routine. 4 years later and both the routine and music are iconic
I love Simone's new routine, are you kidding me with the haters. She could be dancing to Happy Birthday and still be magnificent. So proud of her and of Team USA!
That is so true. She can even have her routine music be twinkle twinkle little star. She has the grace and the power.
HellsOnlyBelle itsy bitsy spider
She's awesome
I love how Simone is never arrogant at all. She’s so nice at every point, to everyone. So good... 🥰
Watching this after Ragan's injury at the 2017 worlds. So sad for her. 😔

Picking the Olympic team is gonna be really difficult this year... There are 9-10 girls who are REALLY in contention.
Ragan Smith's floor routine is my favorite so creative!! The routine is adorable and so is she. I find it cool Im only minutes away from the gym she attends
OMG SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LUCKY!!!!!!!
Daniela Horan I'm about 45 minutes to an hour away from her old gym in Georgia. I've been there. ALL THESE TRAITORS ARE LEAVING GEORGIA FOR TEXAS

Oh how I wish this had aged better for Ragan, such a shame she’ll never get to the Olympics.
The best beam routine performed by Simone Biles. I have watched it many many times. You never get tired watching Simone Biles perform.
I just love watching Team USA compete. The Olympics are going to be amazing.
It's so weird to imagine little Ragan Smith driving a car she's 16 but she's so tiny
There are a lot of them that are just absolutely tiny little ladies. Simone is 4’8, not sure how tall Ragan was here but probably not much more than. And yet, elite, extremely strong and athletic ladies!
props to simone for keeping a straight face when she hit her head on the beam :D
She hits her heel on the the underside of the beam, not her head. But, it looks like she does.

Laurie Hernandez is a good thing for dancer she can do all types of routines with gymnastics because she won Dancing With the Stars
Love Mcgregor! She seems like a sweetheart and great gymnastics.
When ragan ran to hug Martha it was so cute and adorable 😘

Love that photo/video bomb from Laurie.❤️❤️🙏🏻
I love how Ragan Smith's routine is to a Addam's Family (the movie) music medley ❤️😂
10:48 "just screams out: i got this" LMAO that's like her signature sentence now, and the name of her book😉
i like how they point out other countries flaws like bent legs but Aly Raisman’s legs are always bent on vault🤷🏼♀️

u were correct
You guessed correctly! And to boot, Olympic silver medalist on beam!
LAURIE AT 1:01:55 OMG
Thanks for always posting these meets!!
loved all these girls but... I missed gabby!!!
All I could focus on during the last half of Laurie's bb routine was that someone was doing their floor routine to the Game of Thrones theme...
THAT BALANCE BEAM ROUTINE THOUGH 01:14:58 = SIMONE BILES :0
Laurie Dorismond me? Lol
do extrapolate
I hate this

Charlotte Sullivan of New Zealand

Hmm. Not a single reference to the movie Pacific Rim. Disappointing.
watching it today !!!

Seven, or maybe six. Five athletes compete but still keep the “all scores count” system. It just creates more parity that way.
Just waiting for the men's broadcast to be uploaded...:/
What was Ragan’s beam score??
1:18:45, Oh sure Tim, she will be in condention. Haha love when they mispronounce words.
Shout out to the person dancing to Innocent by Bond, didn't realize people in this world actually knew that band xD
Can I ask why some gymnasts bend their legs when doing an aerial on beam?
it is called a side-semi, or a gymnast just has bent knees
